What's your favorite kind?

My favorite: a good & big Caesar salad.
Also, I've aquired a taste for blue cheese as I've gotten older, but it can't be a cheap kind.

BTW, my first college roommate had never had salad dressing when he started college. Really.

Also, when I was little my father would eat liver with Thousand Island dressing. Really. :shocked: :shocked:

When we have pasta, I like a nice homemade italian salad with oil and vinegar. I went through a big phase with French dressing and blue cheese in my younger years. I was also quite partial to honey mustard for a while. Now, it depends on what kind of meal i'm having. I do like caesar salad now and again.

We have a place called Salad Works Cafe up here...it is a chain so you might have them where you all live. It's $7 for a salad but it's huge and they are sooo good. Turkey club salad with french dressing. It's a good time :nod:

I think my favorite would be a really good blue cheese but I rarely eat it because it is fattening. The one dressing I don't like is ranch.

Grape jelly for me.

I took you for a marmalade kinda guy.

I won't use anything but Newman's Ranch. If I go out to eat, I bring a bottle of it with me.

Number 1 - Hidden Valley low fat Ranch. I live in Texas, y'all. We put it on EVERYthing - pizza (don't knock it 'til you've tried it), fries, etc...they should sell it by the gallon.

Marie's low fat blue cheese is yummy. I also like Marie's bacon dressing for spinach salads.

Wishbone fat free Italian - makes a good marinade too.

Yesterday, I got the Martha's Vineyard salad from Arby's (yes, I resisted the Big Montana) and it came w/ a raspberry vinaigrette, which was really yummy...

As a fellow Texan, I second that. However, I prefer the real thing---no fat free for me!

Honey mustard is the bomb, I dip my fries in that too! Ketchup is so passe nowadays... :laugh:

We have Souper Salad down here. It's so-so. Livia & Cliffdweller, do you go to Fresh Choice near the Arboretum?

As the others said, ranch is huge down here. I'll eat it but it's not a favorite. It's like cole slaw. It's just there.

Low fat ranch is good - but fat free is icky...I like Stubb's BBQ sauce and/or Lea & Perrins steak sauce for dippin'. :nod:

Jake - I used to go Fresh Choice all the time, when I worked in that area. There's a Souper Salads down south on Lamar & Ben White. I prefer a drive-thru for a quick salad, I have no self-control in the all-you-can-eat places. :shrug:

Blue cheese and bacon? Oy, what does your bubbe say! :lol:

I'm not a huge fan of low-fat blue cheese, but it's tolerable.

Lamar & BW is where my ex lives. Every time I'd go down there we'd run into each other. Definitely worth avoiding.

Self control is not necessary at all-you-can-eat. You burn the calories every time you walk up to get more food. :)

Low-fat ranch is nothing but plain runny yogurt. Blechhh.
I used to like honey mustard a lot. Now I'm discovering ketchup, which I never ate as a kid. I was all about mustard.

I love Blue Cheese Dressing but I also like French Dressing as well.

I have a severe addiction to blue cheese dressing. Especially Smokey Bones' blue cheese dressing. MMMMMMMM.

I also am now longer allowed to indulge my blue cheese dressing addiction, so I've resigned myself to FF Ranch, and Trader Joe's soy sesame and balsamic vinaigrettes.

I'm going broke from shopping there. That store has the BEST food on the planet. I have a severe addiction to their soy crisps and chicken 'n green chili pepper burritos. And their Kung-Pao chicken bowls are to DIE FOR.

Trader Joe's RULES. I try not to go too much, but I loooove their soy corn dogs and their guacamole... everything's actually pretty damn cheap there, as well!

The Kung-Pao chicken bowls are on sale for $2.49 this month, so I bought 15 of them on Saturday. :shocked: :lol:

I can damn near walk to a Trader Joe's, and I love it. 90% of what I eat comes from that place. Actually, they are pretty cheap for most stuff - meat, fruits and veg, etc. My favorite store !

Raspberry Vin. dressing - yee haw !

I'm not a big bottled dressing fan... I prefer oil & vinegar.

But I do love Thousand Island dressing... most especially on a steak salad. :D

I like to make my own with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, a pinch of lemon juice, and a pinch of sugar. YUMMY! :blob1:

I'm not too crazy about the bottled salad dressings ... I really only use Wishbone Italian as a marinade.

Italian, not that picky, but I hate the low fat or fat free stuff (odd though since when it comes to diet sodas I can't tell the difference), or oil and vinegar.

Ranch is the only dressing I like on my salad.

When I was a kid I loved French and Creamy Italian.

Mmmmmm Trader Joes. Do you guys have a Whole Foods and a Zagaras up there as well??

We have a Zagaras and a Bread & Circus. Bread & Circus is outrageous. $7 for four cans of natural soda. :eek:

I don't know that we have a Bread & Circus....Zagara's is ridiculous too but it's fun in there :nod:

I'm a free sample WHORE when I go to those stores. I look carefully so that I can find the biggest sample and I refill the sample drinks after I go down each aisle six times. :laugh:
