It's Midnight, someone review the show already!
end of message!
|
I Agree, I don't want to be pushy but review the show already  Well in Madison it's like 11:50 right now. So that's over an hour for at least ONE of those in Madison to get to a computer and give us a report of the show.

I don't post here often, but I was at the show...I just got home, the concert got over at about 11:15 or so.
Good show--Lindsey had some pretty major guitar problems, three times! Different songs, same problem (acoustic guitar out of tune). Hearing Sara live gave me chills--they projected the Sara peformance from the Tusk doc behind Stevie. The new setlist is the one they played. I loved hearing Don't Let Me Down Again, but you could tell the crowd didn't recognize it. I sang along with every word. ;) Want more? |
Veronika..
YES, MORE!! LOL
Guitar problems...wuh oh...RAYMOND!! BWAH!! Kidding. 11:15!!! Yikes, what time did the show start? |

Did the crowd seem to react well to the other new additions (Sara, DR, IKINW, Red Rover)? Were there new "speeches" to introduce them? |
The show started at about 8:15 or 8:20. Fashionably late. ;)
The biggest guitar probs were before Red Rover and there was a minor problem before Say Goodbye. We got a little improv from Stevie during the first guitar problem (Say Goodbye) and some chatter from Mick during the Red Rover problems. Stevie dedicated the show to Stella! (aw.) I wish they had kept Say Goodbye as the closer. I think everyone was confused after Don't Stop, I was expecting a 2nd encore. I could've done without Red Rover (the crowd seemed bored during it) and the lloooonnnggg version of World Turning. I love World Turning (and I love that Stevie has a lead in it now), but I could definitely do without Mick's histrionics. It was a great show--my first FM show. It was worth my $75. |

Lindsey seemed a little nutty tonight. He kept throwing his guitar around...I was half expecting him to smash it. But then I remembered that he isn't Pete Townshend. |
with I Know I'm Not Wrong how did the band do that part where it sounds like an accordian or something. The Uh Uh Uh Uh Uh A Uh Uh Uh Uh Uh Uh A Uh. Is it instrumental or did they sing that part. And how was Rhiannon.
|
Oh!!

Thanks for the updates!!!!! |

Rhiannon was pretty darn good. The crowd went wild when it started. We got a little "silly dreamer" at the end, the improv was a healthy mix of all the different versions. |
FIVE MORE DAYS. I can't wait. Now that I know the setlist? This leg of the tour is going to be absolutely amazing. Thanks so much for coming home and posting!!! I've been anxious to hear about it

You're welcome...I'm glad to help. :)

Thanks for all the info. I'm so excited for tomorrow! :blob1: :blob2:

I think Stevie sang a little, choruses only . To tell the truth, I've always skipped Red Rover on the CD so I don't know it very well. I couldn't really understand what Lindsey was singing, there was a lot of guitar on it. I'm sure the backing band helped him with the guitar. I was surprised the Lindsey didn't play lead guitar on Stand Back, or sing on it at all. Is that the norm? |
Thanks for the update! I've been dying to hear everything. :blob1: :blob2:
|
I didn't realize there was a concert in IL tomorrow. ;)
I hope FM make it out of Madison okay, there are some pretty major thunderstorms going on. |

He got wild during Tusk (shocker)--throwing down his guitar and dancing with Stevie at the end. Is this part of the routine now too? |
Quote:
The screencap in my signature is the Tusk dance from Madison Square Garden this past September. It's become a bit routine but I think they have fun with it so they just go for it. |
I guess I'm kinda glad I haven't followed the tour too closely--I wasn't aware of the new routines. :) But the Tusk dance was cute.
I was surprised, Silver Springs lacked fire. I guess I've just watched the Dance version too many times--that was a once in a lifetime performance. |
Really, at my concerts I thought Silver Springs was BETTER then the dance. And I think I read Down On Rodeo's Brisbane reviews where he said the same. Are you positive it was lacking fire.

: puts on nerd hat : I believe in London she even belted out "go ahead and try...TRY TRY TRY!" to Lindsey. That? Would have been amazing to see Even though the dance has become part of a little routine, IMO it's not contrived. I've seen 5 shows..Atlanta will be my 6th this tour. Each time it was a bit different and it has evolved over the past year of touring. I'm sure by the time they get to the end of the tour, it will have evolved again. |

[QUOTE=GardenStateGirlie]I don't know..on the last leg she was pretty hardcore with the Silver Springs.
QUOTE] Stevie tore through the end of Silver Springs last night complete with whipping the mic stand around to face him and "go ahead and try" etc... |

P.S. Lux, I hope you did not just pass out from that mental image!!!  |
Lmao!!
Yep, the vesturbation's got NOTHING on the guitar-ur-bation.
Stevie seriously wasn't kidding. ;) LOL |

I was dying with laughter. I don't recall him EVER being that crazy during Stand Back in the seven other shows I saw this tour. He was off his rocker last night, and it was greeeaaaaaaat!! |

THEN - Micks 45 hour solo in WT made me sit down and fall asleep!!!!!!!! What the HELL was he saying into the mic.? |
Quote:
I was right under Lindsey's mike and I was just worried about any of his wayward spit landing on MEEEE. Yuck. I love the roadie who has to go sponge down the mike after he spits all over it. |

hahahahahahaaaa... and he always looks so SERIOUS when he's doing it, like he's working on a nuclear arms treaty instead of wiping Mick's SPIT off of a microphone... it makes me giggle every time.

I like Mick and all, but he seriously STINKS up there... that vest has seen better days (shudder). |
Bleh.
I would much rather he do a drum solo a la the Mirage video during NTF or something. They could do like, dueling musicians or something, that would be fun!

It could not be Tusk because he threw his guitar across the stage after unplugging it!!! I think someone has some pent up energy!!!!!!! |
