New Mac Pics - Mtv

Well looks like Stevie's got the bangs again...check out this site for lots of mac pics from the MTV thing last night

strandinthewind 05-06-2004 08:56 AM

EGADS - could that be a new black dress and scarf to go along with those bangs!!!!!!

ShangriLaTroubl 05-06-2004 08:58 AM

Yes the dress looks like the one she wore at the last part of the dance video, much more flattering IMO...and yes the scarf I like too...I think I like her better with bangs...I used to always want her to cut them off, but now i think im glad theyre back

Chris

ShangriLaTroubl 05-06-2004 09:04 AM

o yes she has the gloves on as well too...looks like maybe they are here to stay?

Chris

ryan8472 05-06-2004 09:21 AM

What exactly was this thing on MTV? I missed it. Did they play anything?

BTW, I like the bangs too ;)

ShangriLaTroubl 05-06-2004 09:30 AM

It was some kind of corporate event...yes they did perform --obviously from the pics...but it wasn't a televised thing...

Chris

dissention 05-06-2004 09:41 AM

The pics are so dark you can't see a thing except her bangs (which need to go). ;)

no_spoken_word 05-06-2004 09:59 AM

Oh yes! I missed those bangs - it'll be much easier to pretend she's Patsy Stone from AbFab again now that they're back. :p

Josh2003 05-06-2004 10:04 AM

Alright...so I originally loved Stevie without the bangs...and still do...but I have to say, that she looks HOT in those pictures. The bangs, with the new(?) dress, and the SCARF. Wow...and the gloves...

Gypsy-Rhiannon 05-06-2004 10:40 AM

There are some more Stevie ones here:

This is an outrage! How can it be that NO Ledgies were aware of this secret performance before now? :D

Paula

Pisces Queen 05-06-2004 11:17 AM

Woo Hoo ~ Stevie looks freaking fabulous...love the bangs!!!

estranged4life 05-06-2004 11:20 AM

Interesting pictures...

but I wonder what the abbreviated setlist was at this Empty-Vee function?

Taku had mentioned it when he posted on Nancy's board

thanks God the bangs are back!

markolas 05-06-2004 11:38 AM

I'm not sure if the bangs are an improvement or not. I hated her hair parted down the middle, but she looks a bit like a drag queen in some of these pics. Maybe it's that scarf.

joe 05-06-2004 12:09 PM

sing to the tune of "my boyfriend's back"

"her bangs are back
and she looks a whole lot better...
hey la hey la
the bangs are back"

joe68 05-06-2004 12:18 PM

re:

The bangs dont look nearly as horrible when her hair is parted in the middle. When she parts it on the side they look hideous. Also, the sides look much more sleeker which is way cool. It almost reminds me of the 'do she had on the Arsenio show back in '91.

THANK GOD she didnt wear the "outfit". If I never see that short sleeved buttoned down top again it will be too soon!!!!!!

AliP 05-06-2004 12:25 PM

egad, when is Lindsey going to change that gawd awful white shirt! It was nice the first hundred times he wore it, but it needs to go now! I hope he isn't planning on wearing that the entire second leg! :distress:

I didn't think I liked Stevie with the longer bangs, but looking at the pics of her and Tom Petty (link posted above by Pip) I think I like the longer bangs better than the short ones. oh well, either way she looks good.

I love it, but it reminds me a little of Joan Crawford's page boy do in the 50's LOL

WE LOVE YOU STEVIE!!!!!!

shackin'up 05-06-2004 01:23 PM

What are "bangs"? Apart from sounds during violent attacks?

Johnny Stew 05-06-2004 01:27 PM

In most of the pictures from last year's tour, the lack of bangs caused Stevie to look downright frumpy. That long fringe didn't flatter her features at all.

Aesthetically, I'm glad the bangs are back.

"Bangs" are when your hair is cut and combed to fall in a, traditionally, straight line above your eyebrows.

Not the best explanation, but that's basically it.

The bangs make her look downright frumpy. She needs to add some volume to her hair and throw some curls into the mix. The straight blonde hair doesn't look good on her anymore. If she's going to wear bangs, she needs to learn how to do so. They can't be as thick as the rest of her hair, they can't cover her eyebrows, and she can't wear them with her hair being parted like she usually has it. You don't just grow bangs and say "Hey, I have bangs." Otherwise, they look like ****.

cliffdweller 05-06-2004 02:05 PM

Woo-hoo!!! Me likey the bangs. Thank god!

While I agree that she should add some waves or curls to her overall hairstyle, I disagree about the bangs making her look frumpy.
They frame her face and soften her overall appearance. The way she wore her hair last year, just dragged her face down and made her look older than she needs to look.

Plus, there's no set rule on how thick or thin your bangs should be, or even whether or not they touch or cover your eyebrows. And I'm glad she doesn't have them trimmed as high as she did for her 1998 Leno appearance. They looked as if someone had tried to straighten them out, and kept cutting them shorter and shorter in the process! :)

There isn't? It's a rule of thumb that you're bangs should be thinner than the rest of your hair. My grandmother had a salon out of her house and I remember her screaming bloody murder when she'd see the bangs of some of the people who walked in. And if she wants them thick, they shouldn't cover her eyebrows. Consult a salon, Le Stew.

Sorry, the bangs make her look like she's trying to cover up a brow lift.

lol.....I was singing "She Bangs, She Bangs" to myself. Sorry just a little AI humor.

I like the bangs myself.

If someone wants their bangs a little thicker, there's nothing wrong with it.
My mother is a hairdresser, and "every style must express individuality." ;)

Now, if she were teasing her bangs up like "Jersey-Girl hair," then I can understand screaming bloody murder!

*** No offense to any Jersey girls who may be passing thru this thread! Around here, we actually refer to it as "Pittsburgh-Girl hair." ;)

diamondsnake 05-06-2004 03:01 PM

I am not a bangs kinda guy, but change is a good thing at this point in the tour. Now, even if they don't change the setlist, at least Stevie will have a different haircut.

New here/MTV pics

Hi, I'm a new Ledgie! Just wanted to say thanks for the MTV pics. I loved Stevie sans the bangs but she looks equally good with them. I must say, Lindsey looks better every year that goes by! :)

I agree, in the 3 close up shots, she doesn't look as girly and feminine. I don't know what it is, it just doesn't look like Stevie to me. The side view pictures look great though.

She's been doing her eye-makeup a little more sparsely lately... using eyeliner, but with less eye-shadow around her lower lids than she used to wear.
Which is causing her eyes to look smaller than we're used to seeing them, and giving her overall appearance less "softness."

Perhaps she should just pull the wig back for a better fit and higher bangs

Okay, now you're starting to scare me.
