Carollllllllllllliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeee!!!

Cut the chord if you can!

Is there any chance that this song will be done live on the new leg of the tour? It rocks! And would be a great replacement to one of Lindsey's other songs.

Caroline

Ugh, I hate that song  No offense...

wondergirl9847 04-17-2004 04:22 PM

"dusty fury on the mountaintop..."

I LOVE this song!! That would be a cool change of pace in concert. I'm all for them playing songs that only die-hards know.

goldie 04-17-2004 06:33 PM

I would love to hear Caroline!!! That is quite the forgotten gem!

Hawkeye 04-17-2004 11:12 PM

I LOVE Caroline. It's probably my favorite song from Tango in the Night. Of couanother favorite of mine from that album is Family Man and of course Tango in the Night. Lindsey owned that album.

EveryHour 04-17-2004 11:14 PM

I couldn't stand this song when I first bought Tango, but now I like it a lot. "Time recedes with a fatal drop / Dusty fury on the mountaintop"...what awesome lyrics. However, if LB's gonna pull out a Tango song next leg it MUST be Tango In The Night itself!!!!! I am the farthest thing from a gymnast (can't even do a cartwheel), but I think I would spontaneosly do a triple backflip if they did this song. Or burst into tears. I can't decide.

strandinthewind 04-17-2004 11:24 PM

I would love to hear TITN on this your. I think Stevie doing the TTTTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO with LB jamming on his guitar would be excellent.

My thoughts exactly. TITN would work well live.

And I like the chorus lyrics of Caroline, but not the verse lyrics.

I love "Caroline."
In fact, I love all of Lindsey's tracks on 'Tango'... even the much maligned "Family Man." :)

Oh pleeeeeeease... I shouldn't trust on people's tastes should I. Tango must be my least favorite FM album just because I hate Lindsey's songs so much... except for "Big Love" and the title track. And "Caroline" is a very disgusting tune that I don't enjoy at all. To each his own, I guess.

Song of the moment - That's All For Everyone

Siri Ruane 04-18-2004 08:19 PM

One of the cheesiest lyrical creations of all FM history, but the music and Lindsey's vocals really make up for it. I love this song. :D

Tango is their best album.

littlelies7 04-18-2004 08:52 PM

Now, that would be cool to hear that song live!!

~~

If anything else from TITN end up on the list...

Let us know!!

~~

It also wouldn't be bad if Chris joins up with the band to sing LL and "Isn't It Midnight"... :D

golden braid 04-18-2004 10:24 PM

I think Tango in the Night would kick ass live. I would love to hear it and I think it would fit into the set nicely with Lindsey doing another awesome guitar solo.

GardenStateGirlie 04-18-2004 11:29 PM

I, for one, just really want to hear Lindsey go.....
"whuddabahdunwhuddabahdunwhuddabadu-unnnnnn...."

I'm a fan of the album and i'm a fan of the song so i'd be totally stoked to hear some Tango. Too bad that'll probably never happen.

:]

lindsey has a golden throat in “caroline" and the drumming is high caliber.
after a few listens, the chorus is permanently hooked in my cranium!!! :) :) :) :)

lindsey’s meticulous production and instrumentation on the "tango in the night" album make audiophiles weep!

This song took a period of years to grow on me. I love it now, but I see why people can't get into it. It's very "tribal" sounding.

The music and Lindsey's vocals are gorgeous. I actually LOVE all of the lyrics to this song as well, except for "family man"...and especially the time it's sung really low :distress: . That's where the hate starts trickling in. I can't even put that bit off to it being the Eighties. It's just wrong. ;) But then as soon as the other part kicks back in, I recover quickly  . I even love the "I am what I am" part. The guitar is amazing and I love the samba beat. Or is it bossanova? :) If the low part was gone, and Lindsey was just something else other than "a family man" in the song, it would be one of my very faves I think. Since we can't alter history, I accept it the way it is..... :)

Though I'd much prefer to hear TITN live, I'd go for this one too...with an updated sound. It'd be cool. And to appease my dislike of the "family man" lyric, he could maybe chnge it to "Kristen's man" (and Stevie could echo) ;) . Where's that puking emoticon? I know some of you will need it now. (Just for the record, I am not "hating" on Kristen here. :) )

"Caroline" is an excellent song. Nice Middle Eastern vibe.

Two chances...slim & none

Isn't it: "Cut the cord"??

jbrownsjr 04-19-2004 04:41 PM

Two things I love about this song

Christine's tarzan style vocals. Nice use of the reverb!

And the percussion! :blob2:

Hawkeye 04-19-2004 05:35 PM

you know I for yearsthoght that was Christine at the beginning and end of Caroline doing that wailing thing. But now for some reason I think it's Lindsey doing voice modulations. Does anyone know for sure.

That doesn't sound like Chris to me. Absolutely Lindsey.

At the end, but the intro and middle is Christine.

I'm with Jake. It's definately Lindsey. Not Christine at all.

I loved it immediately. The rhythm of that song is just amazing, nice drums there Mick.

Again with Lindsey and the minimal lyrics. I think he's trying to convey something with those child-like, choppy lyrics, like maybe the woman he's talking about is kind of, well...a child. Any thoughts?
