Hi, I just wanted to thank you for putting up that show; I was dying to know what Chris and John had said to each other after Rhiannon. :-) Now I know. John sure did quite a bit of talking back then. Before Songbird, didn't he tell the noisy crowd to 'turn that sh*t down?' !! Anyway-- I appreciate it, thanks again!

Thanks! I've been looking for a good Rumours era show.

Miranda 04-13-2004 11:35 PM

Thanks a million! Great Rumours era show. I don't have many live shows but if this is a good example of what's out there maybe I better start collecting?

One question:

I just got a cd burner and I guess I don't know how to use it. I tried to make this an mp3 data record because it's too long for one regular cd. Well I couldn't get it to come out in order of the show set list. I even put the list in a new alphabetical order with an added initial at the begining to keep them lined up right. It still didn't work. I got the last two songs first and then the rest was in the right order. What happened?

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you, Mike! This is one of my favorite shows. I wish all the boots from the 70s were of this quality!

I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I've just started posting a soundboard of the Mobile, AL concert from August 11, 1980 if anyone is interested in that as well.

I do love this show alot. But the Oklahoma Show just 4 days earlier 5/17/77 is even better. It includes probably my favorite version of Green Manalishi out there. It's probably the last time it was perfomed by Fleetwood Mac.

estranged4life 04-14-2004 04:24 PM

I agree...

the May 18,1977 Oklahoma City, OK (Recorded at The Myriad) is a great sounding show, But for some reason people have circulated it as being recorded in Oakland, CA (The dead giveaway is that Stevie mentions Oklahoma during Landslide which is the most emotional version I have heard thus far...)

no problem.

Hell yeah this is a great show. My favourite from the ones I've heard from 1977 anyway. The talk between Chris and John after "Rhiannon" is the funniest thing I've ever heard from FM on stage. And Chris' banter is great throughout.

And "Songbird" with John on bass, and "NGBA" with Mick on brushes and John on bass. Yeah! :D

Looking forward to that Yokohama show; I think David said that the "Not That Funnies" from Japan were especially creepy. ;)

Yeah, and no "Oh Well" in that one which was somewhat unusual anyway.

Brian, that was because the bitch who first leaked it (by selling it in mutilated form instead of sharing it) slapped it on a two-CD-R set with the wrong label. She probably called it Oakland because she was selling the Oakland 1982 CD-R at the same time. This gal in question was never known for attention to details, to say the least.

I posted to Usenet about a week after she leaked it that it wasn't Oakland but Oklahoma City, verified both by my Rumours tour itinerary & by just what you mention -- Stevie's dedication before "Landslide"!

Another one people started screwing up (although it wasn't the bootlegger's fault this time) was Little Rock. That's from May 20, not June 20/21. You see it all over the place with the June date on it. They didn't play anywhere on June 20; they were still on brief hiatus.

They probably played "Oh Well," but the circulated concert was chopped up by the seller originally.

They're funny, especially one I heard quite awhile ago from Tokyo (. . . I think).

But there's some wonderful stuff arriving on www.bluewhitefire.com, too, so keep up with the Mobile '80 tracks as they're posted. A brilliant "I'm So Afraid" & a jaunty, pumping, gloriously off-key "Think About Me" & a "Rhiannon" that should silence all the kids who thought it was powerful last year.

Tiff's a goddess for tracking this one down, & Mike's a pal for ripping it.

So far, I've downloaded the first 2 tracks from Mobile 1980. I had no idea that any more new soundboards would be coming. I thought I had them all. I'm looking forward to downloading all 13 tracks if they're posted.

I always wondered about this. My Little Rock boot is labeled June 24th. It didn't make sense that they would be in Nashville on May 21st and then back down south in Little Rock a month later.

Oh no! This thread's got me going on the downloads. :blob1: I never collected boots but these downloads are great. I couldn't resist.

Brian, I took a look at your page and WOW! I'd love to mine your collection. My problem is I don't have a lot to trade.

I've been a fan for years. I just never got into collectibles or boots. I used to be uneasy about the whole thing (ethics-wise) but after the original fan club showed me a thing or two, hell I can rationalize a well as Mick's people.

My friends have burned me a few nice things in the past and that has kept me going, but I'd love to have a few things from your list as well.

I'll email ya. Are you open to new traders?

wondergirl9847 04-16-2004 08:24 PM

Thanks Tiff!!

:D I just now listened to the first few tracks of the Mobile show and WOW, that version of Dreams is now one of my faves. Lindsey's lil flairs of guitar throughout, especially during his mini-solo are AWESOME!! Stevie's growling at the end is greatness as well.

Thanks to Tiff for posting the show!
