Merf 04-07-2004 10:40 PM

I cannot believe they're doing Sara. WOW. And a BN song. (they're already done that one in previous concerts, but still.... I am shocked.)

I wonder what other SYW songs will be changed up.... I'd love to hear Miranda, Thrown Down, EFO, or Red Rover.

wondergirl9847 04-07-2004 10:41 PM

WOOOOOO!!!!

I didn't wanna get tickets until I KNEW they would change it....and I'm listening to my local station trying to win tickets. You have to answer some trivia about FM.....I hope I get through and KNOW the answer!! LOL

Ask him if he knows he has made plenty of Ledgies happy with the new setlist...Seriously, ask 'em.

wondergirl9847 04-07-2004 10:53 PM

LMAO!!

Ask him to say Hi to all the Ledgies!

LOL!! Just kidding.

I hope you get through, Pwyll!!!!!!!

Merf 04-07-2004 10:55 PM

I got through with my question but apparently him commenting on EFO and the sound of the song and how different it is than anything else they've done wasn't good enough.... the "screener" guy said that since the song was written by Stevie that he wouldn't be able to comment really. Whatever. I just wanted to get his take on it, not on what it meant! LOL!!!!

He said "Call back if you've thought of something else!" The screeners are doing a good job of filtering I suppose.

wondergirl9847 04-07-2004 11:02 PM

WTH!?!

Meredith couldn't ask about EFO, but Ozzy can ask him about taking COKE?!?!?

WTH!?!?!?!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

during the R&R hall of fame ceremony. jeremy spencer was in India.

mick kept in touch last 8 years with jeremy. he lives in the states now…travels all over the world.

recorded 2-3 little blues things w/jeremy during recording of “say you will.”

he still speaks to peter, jeremy, bob (Weston?) billy.

go your own way is his favorite song to play. it gives him a good physical workout!

Someone from TN called and asked about the upcoming PBS special: Fleetwood said there are 2 versions of the Boston concert: A long and a short. June 17th it will air on PBS. June 15th the Boston DVD concert will be in stores as this club confirmed before..... :)

Buckingham is going to get his solo collection out on the open market, one way or another. The group together is definitely going to do another album..... :)

AgainLindsey 04-07-2004 11:38 PM

i can't get over how amazing stevie's "gold dust woman #1" sounds from the remasters. that ending is so ethereal.

I'm excited about the new songs but NO SISTERS OF THE MOON! I'm having a heart attack. Mick said he wanted it and it was an option but someone else didn't want to do it. I can't believe it. :distress: :distress: :distress:

AgainLindsey 04-07-2004 11:59 PM

touring is different today than in 1968, when they drove trucks, set up gear, like Jethro Tull, early Cream. FM basically worked for nothing then. that was rock bottom, with 3-4 people in a hotel room.

the band today is trained like racehorses. when they go on the road they click into all disciplines. they have their own plane. they don't stay up all night drinking.

mick and lindsey now have families on the road. "it's like a circus" he says - with kids and animals. mick has two older daughters, and two little ones whom "dad" gets to read stories to. nowadays they (the band ?) go see art museums and things.

golden braid 04-08-2004 12:00 AM

Mick also said they are going to do some of the more obscure songs from Tusk.

And he also said there should hopefully be new music sometime in the future and that they are not going to take forever to create new music since they aren't getting any younger. He added that Lindsey definitely has some music that he wants to get out. :blob1: :blob2:

wondergirl9847 04-08-2004 12:04 AM

AWESOME!!

I couldn't really hear everything because I was trying to win those dang tickets. I got through, but the guy had a winner already. Bummer....I'll try again tomorrow.

So, no SOTM, but more obscure music from Tusk...possibly LB songs??? Let's hope!!

PLEASE, let LB put out a solo album after this tour!!!!!!!!!!!!

AgainLindsey 04-08-2004 12:08 AM

lindsey's end solo on "go your own way" is mick's favorite guitar solo of all-time by ANYBODY. mine too! :)

4Buck 04-08-2004 12:15 AM

Interesting about the CAMBRIDGE SOUND SYSTEM. How Fleetwood met a bass player he didn't know extremely well, when the guy arrived in New York and they were both looking for their bags. ....Fleetwood asked what this guy was carrying around with him -- which was no bigger than 5 ciggie packs put together>>> It fit into an attache case......

Fleetwood now carries around a Model 12 which can be applied to computers and is a great system. He takes it on the road with him all the time. .....

Great to hear about future releases, as well! THANK YOU, MICK!

Damn! I was hoping SOTM would be one of the secret 3.:(
It's #1 on my list of songs to hear other than B/N ones.

I wonder if "Angel" & "I Know I'm Not Wrong" could be a few of the possible obscure Tusk songs???

Holy crap! I'm so hype for it. In the current setlist thread, I lobbied for a Tusk medley....maybe Mick reads The Ledge? heh!

Seriously though, the fact that he said "obscure songs" from Tusk make me ficking Giddy! Does that mean more than one song? Different songs on Different nights? Not That Funny? IKINW? The Ledge? Possibilities!

Gypsy-Rhiannon 04-08-2004 02:59 AM

Bugger! Shame they couldn't do at least one new song when they came to the UK!

My thoughts exactly, Pip. Except.. about Australia, oddly enough

But my theory is - Next time! :)

Um, can someone who actually heard this interview clarify.... Mick said Lindsey would be putting out a solo album?! That doesn't sound right at all.

That sounds ERNORMOUSLY right!!

I fantasized: maybe he'll put out the unused gift of screws-songs combined with cuts from his Soundstage/Chicago performance....

Gerald, that has been one of my ongoing fantasies for a few months.

But at the risk of being a party pooper, keep in mind the source: Very little of what Mick says ever comes to fruition. If we hear from Lindsey's mouth that he is going to release his solo material, that will be more credible.

Lindsey has a wonderful opportunity to get his unused solo songs out even if he doesn't do an album. His management should get in touch with Apple and release the songs through iTunes. He could do a song a week for a few months. That would be exciting.

pwyll 04-08-2004 08:32 AM

I got to ask Mick a question!!

I was the guy who told him who Christine's new record company was and who asked about the solo or new mac cd's after all this is over.

Oh yeah....I mentioned I had been to 16 shows (he was very appreciative).

Does anyone know who the girl is that he said was going to just about every show, hung out at the hotel bars with them, etc?

~Bob

DownOnRodeo 04-08-2004 08:35 AM

You guys surprise me!

I feel like I'm the only one who was hanging out for a new Fleetwood Mac album! :( lol

Solo albums? Solo tours? It's the same old story since after Tusk. Another 5 years? These guys don't have 5 years to spare! :distress: The only rationale I can pull from this (IMO) bad news is that Stevie must have a solo album obligation, and since that will take time and Lindsey wants to work together with her on the next FM project, he will be able to 'offload' the GOS/SYW backlog in a solo project of his own (a solo album coming about 10 years after the first track was laid!), thus leaving something of a clean slate for material to go on the next FM album. I *hope* that their is a rationale along these lines and they're not just 'falling back into the cycle', if you will, of indulging in solo ventures followed by eternally delayed and 'mixed-bag' FM releases.

Given everything that Mick, Lindsey, and also Stevie, have said, in the DR doco etc, about the future of FM, I hope/assume that this solo 'deviation' is a one-off for (a) Stevie to honour her solo commitments (what was it - about 2 more albums incl TISL?), and (b) for Lindsey to finally get all the officially unreleased stuff from after OOTC out of the FM equation and into our CD-drives/iPods.

Meanwhile, I can console myself that whatever Lindsey puts out will be largely 'Fleetwood Mac' in my eyes... take 'Down On Rodeo' for instance. If that's not the Mick and Lindsey chemistry of Fleetwood Mac then what is.

face of glass 04-08-2004 08:36 AM

*gets cynical*

So they'll replace a few songs in the setlist. Then they'll tour for most of the year without any changes. By the end of it we'll all be complaining again. ;)

(Ok, this gave me some hope anyway.) :)
