Current Setlist

I kind of wanna go see them again this summer but I am not interested if the setlist will be the same as the last leg of their tour. Anyone know if they are changing tunes or adding some. I kind of feel that some of the Rumours stuff is getting old again...How many times can we here Gold Dust Woman live? How about I Don't Wanna Know or some jems from Tusk. Or even some BN stuff like Frozen Love.

ANyone know anything about the current setlists????

Peace

Rob:cool:

wondergirl9847 03-19-2004 06:55 PM

Rob...

That seems to be the million dollar question. LOL I don't think anyone knows at this point. I would think they would change it, but with FM....who knows?

I am waiting to see the new setlist before coughing up the cash for tickets to the Dallas show. If Red Rover is added...I'm out 400 bucks cuz I will SO be on Ebay!! LMAO!!

estranged4life 03-19-2004 07:37 PM

The whole setlist...

needs to be gutted IMHO...(It will be wishful thinking to see this band throw caution to the wind and have a different setlist for each night Unlike other bands.)

This summer, I won't pay $100+ for tickets to see/hear the same Tired setlist from last year or to hear just 2-3 different songs added to the setlist that weren't played on the 2003 tour.

Right on target!!! Tired is right. It was really cool to see "Beautiful Child" and "Goodbye Baby", but I ain't buying tickets unless I see something good.

If any one of these songs is in the setlist, I will pay top dollah for tix:

1) Sisters of the Moon
2) Storms
3) Sara
4) Frozen Love
5) Django/Races Are Run (DREAM ON!!!)

Honorable mention: Everybody Finds Out

diamondsnake 03-20-2004 11:57 AM

do you think there's any chance they will completely start fresh with a new set list? if so, here is what i would like to see: (not in any part. order)

the chain
dreams
bleed to love her
everybody finds out
caroline
running through the garden
storms
don't let me down again
crying in the night
go insane
illume
stand back
say you will
sweet girl
freedom
seven wonders
oh diane
that's alright
tusk
oh daddy (lead vocals by stevie)
i don't wanna know
blue letter
go your own way
frozen love
Paper doll
goodbye baby
love is
not make believe
love minus zero

would anyone be satisfied with this setlist? I know my tastes are a bit strange, so i would most likely be the only one rocking out to this setlist.

Toss out Freedom and Love Is and I'd love it. :D

They desperately need to do Storms and Tango In the Night live.

I'll end up going to see them no matter what, but, if they don't change their current set, I'll be very dissapointed. With such a large catelogue of music, I don't know why they don't do something out of the ordinary for a change. I could do without most of the Rumours album, personally. I mean, yes, there are some classic songs on there, that deserve to be played, but they don't have to play the whole album (or most of it).Throw some more songs in from Tusk, Mirage, Tango and Fleetwood Mac. And of course, alternate out some of the already played SYW songs for some new ones. I think they might draw some more crouds if people knew that it wouldn't be the same worn out set every night. The set that I would rather see would be:

01. Monday Morning
02. The Chain
03. Dreams (Only because the casual fans would flip if they didn't do this)
04. Tango In The Night
05. Say You Will
06. Oh Well (This HAS to come back at some point)
07. Straight Back
08. Come
09. Red Rover
10. Landslide
11. Say Goodbye
13. I Know I'm Not Wrong
14. Destiny Rules
15. Gold Dust Woman
16. I'm So Afraid
17. Storms
18. Tusk (With just SnL on the vocals for the first half)
19. Everybody Finds Out
20. Go Your Own Way
First Encore
21. World Turning (I don't know why people complain so much. It's a lot of fun in person)
22. Second Hand News
23. Sisters Of The Moon
Second Encore
24. Sara
25. Eyes Of The World
26. Crystal

A pretty well rounded setlist, I think. Same number of new songs they play currently. Then again, this list is basically wishful thinking, as the band is known to always play it safe, unfortunatly. :distress:

Can I ask who is on your icon? It looks like Lucas from Days of Our Lives, but I'm prob. wrong.

Don't feel bad Chris. It took me awhile to figure out that that is Lindsey. I was looking at info about the LIVE album and I saw the pic and was like "Uh...that looks familiar...ohhhhh!"

I agree that the setlist is "tired" to a certain extent, and I DEFINITELY agree that they need to be more daring in their selections. I mean, as long as they throw in something from Rumours here and there, it's not like anyone's going to walk out!!! Not that this would be possible with FM for me, but when I go to see someone that I'm not as fanatical about, I LIKE it when they do a few songs I don't know. (I know I'm in the minority of society at large here.) But I'll be there no matter what because I do still LOVE all of the songs they're playing (I just wish they would play OTHER songs I love also/instead!) As much as I adore the song, I do think it's rediculous that they're doing Stand Back (especially without including EFO as a show climax. As I've said before, you can MAKE an audience like songs they don't know if you're willing to put the energy into it.) I just don't get including this in an FM set when Stevie has toured incessantly and plays it on every tour. Same goes for the inclusion of FM songs in her shows. I realize it was necessary on the BD tour (because even if she had played her entire new album it wouldn't have been enough to fill out a show), but that's one of the many reasons I love the OSOTM Tour so much is because she barely did any FM songs, even leaving out Rhiannon. I wouldn't have MINDED hearing Rhiannon, I just enjoy the fact that she had the balls to not play it and even teased the audience by singing the first couple of lines at some shows. I can also understand the playing of FM songs on the Street Angel Tour because at that point she wasn't in FM anymore. Anyway, I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE (and perhaps die:D ) to hear most of the songs people are mentioning, but at the same time I think we have to realize we are so tired of the setlist because we are so closely involved and listen to boots over and over, etc. I mean, if you're THAT sick of your favorite band, give 'em a rest for a while. It doesn't mean you're any less of a fan...it's human nature to get sick of something after so much repetition. (At the same time, I realize it's human nature to be addicted to things and it's hard to pull back. The Ledge has sucked us all in............ :D )

My Ideal..

Monday Morning
The Chain
Dreams
OH WELL (BRING IT BACK!)
Rhiannon
Thrown Down
Without A Leg To Stand On (Solo Lindsey if possible)
Red Rover
Landslide
Everybody Finds Out
Big Love (full band!)
Second Hand News
Storms
I'm So Afraid
Sara
Tusk
Silver Springs
GYOW
*encore*
TUSK MEDLEY w/ Mick vest solo (The Ledge/That's Enough For Me/WMYTYTO/I Know I'm Not Wrong/Not That Funny (end it with the vest) ...I think this would REALLY work and would do well to pay homage to Tusk.
*second encore*
Say Goodbye
Goodbye Baby

So that's just my ideal. As I was trying to compile this, I realized that they've only been together together for 6 albums now, and Christine had such a big part of the first 5...I think that does limit them in terms of what they can play. Anyway, I know my setlist probably won't happen, but if they make a few tweaks here and there, I'd be happy. :)

Well of course, I know what he looks like in younger pictures, I just can't see lindsey in that photo. the hair looks like a modern style, so i expected it, also, to be a newer picture of someone. never mind, i still say that is not lindsey! but i guess everyone else can't be wrong.

Yes, yes, you MUST get it! Some fans don't like it, but I really do. The inside pics are pretty fab too.

As far as the setlist goes, I'd love to hear any of the following:

SOTM
EFO
Illume
Rover
Storms
Seven Wonders
Frozen Love
Don't Let Me Down Again
Thrown Down

BUT - I really think these are the biggest possibilities for new songs in the setlist:

Monday Morning (replacing second hand news)
Oh Well (replacing ?)
Blue Letter (replacing EOTW)
Steal Your Heart Away (replacing say goodbye - I HOPE!)

I hope I'm pleasantly surprised in June!

Oh! I completely agree with you. I didn't mean stop going to see them in concert! I meant maybe try not listening to them for *a week*, or not listening to boots of the current tour constantly. Obviously people who are sick of these songs are doing this, otherwise they would've only heard them live at the few shows they've seen. As an example, I know some people are saying they're ready for a change from Beautiful Child already. Unless thry're in '03 Tour boot overkill mode (or the rarity that they went to enough shows to get sick of it...it would take A LOT), they wouldn't have even heard it enough to be sick of it.

Agreed, but if they're going to do solo songs, do something different, for god's sake!

Stand Back is such a great song live especially with FM, it would be kind of sad to see it go. I would love more Tusk songs.

About that pic of Lindsey, get the LP of the album much bigger pic, I have it hanging on my wall along with all the other lp's I hang them because I do not have a record player and they look good on the wall. I bought all the albums from ebay.

About the setlist...

Personally, I think they should do a different set every night (I.E. - The Grateful Dead, Pearl Jam, etc...). It would be exciting and I'm sure the band would have fun doing it too. I mean, they have written enough songs so that they could do this, so it's not like they are restricted to the 25 they play now. And why is there no homage or reference to the pre-Buckingham Nicks eras of the band? I mean, they could at least play Oh Well or Hypnotised, as a tribute to those musicians who came before them. I just don't get it.

This is one that I really think needs to go, go, go... It was stale in 1983 fer chrissakes- that was 20 years ago!! It's a good song, but it really is tired. ANY song would be better than this.

I'm not too keen on Stevie 1979 super-tight perm. That was one style fad that nobody needed! It reminds me of Ann and Nancy from Heart on the cover of "Bebe Le Strange". YIKES!!!

Lauren 03-22-2004 05:32 PM

Still laughing from the "Lucas on Days of our Lives" comment on the Lindsey icon! Only cause I watch the show...

Anyway here are some songs I'd love to see and I do hope they mix it up a bit. I would love them to keep some of Rumours but not the whole album.

1. Monday Morning
2. Blue Letter
3. Stop Dragging my Heart with Lindsey on vocals with Stevie - awesome!
4. Crystal
5. Sara (yeah I'll keep dreaming)
6. Frozen Love
7. Oh Well (agree it's time to bring it back)
8. Seven Wonders
9. Tango in the Night
10. Everybody Finds Out
11. Running thru the Garden

These would be in addition to the usual songs. I could do without Mick's drum thing (yawn) and replace Stand Back with Edge of Seventeen. Also tired of live Big Love to be honest - as much as I love Lindsey I'd like to see something different.

Lauren

I could not agree more with this post! It truly baffles me when you consider how many songs they could dig into night after night. Instead, we get a rehearsed-to-the-syllable stage production.

They wouldn't even have to change the entire setlist every night. Just pick 5 songs to swap out on alternating nights - swap Dreams with Sara, WTWCT with Miranda, Beautiful Child with Storms, EOTW with Monday Morning and Stand Back with EFO. Then swap them back out for the next night. Lather, rinse, repeat. Isn't that easy?

I also feel like they're missing an incredible opportunity to bring out some Buckingham Nicks songs...I mean, if not now, when? Like everyone else, I'd kill for Frozen Love, but something like Long Distance Winner or Races Are Run would suit me fine too.

If Mick would actually play the drums instead of his damn torso, I'd be a lot more interested. He's a great drummer who used to command arenas with his intense, brief solos during Fleetwood Mac pseudo-jams. Just turn the other guy OFF & let Mick rip.

Quote:

Hmm... stylistically, "Edge" is so far afield of Fleetwood Mac's style that I can't help thinking it would be more mess than anything. How about a solo song that has Fleetwood Mac style tucked into its nooks & crannies? Something like "Blue Lamp" or "Sable on Blonde"? Mick already knows the latter, having played it on "The Wild Heart." In fact, Stevie could introduce it as a replacement for "Dreams": "You guys will love this because it sounds like 'Dreams' but it's a little fresher."

Rumours 03-22-2004 08:51 PM

I actually have that pic of Lindsey hanging on my wall too....only it's on the bottom right corner the cover of the 45 RPM single of The Farmer's Daughter...... ;) ;)

I too would like them to change the setlist around this time. There's so much they could do...

I agree that is a problem to a certain extent, but ~much worse~ the band look like they're agreeing that Rumours is the only worthwhile thing they've ever done. Show more pride in your artistry!:distress: I love Rumours, and there are songs on it I would still like to hear in concert despite how much they've been played, but.....

It's like, "play Say You Will songs because it's our new album and then appease the audience with Rumours songs". I suppose since the money-making part of the music business is relying so much on touring now, they have to play a lot of Rumours to keep people coming to see them. But if they played some things from other albums, people might hear it for the first time, like it, and pick up a copy of THAT album. I mean, everyone in the audience already owns Rumours, so they don't need to sell more copies of THAT. Maybe it's a hopeless cause, but I've certainly seen people and picked up an old album because a song stood out to me.
