1975 reissue is out NOW!!

In case you don't want to wait, OnlyHitMusic.com has been shipping the 1975 reissue (white album) since March 2. The others appear to be on backorder. The sound quality is PHENOMENAL -- the way it was meant to be heard.

Not sure if regular stores have received the reissues yet, but it's worth a check.

I just ordered one.:) I hope that they ship it fast.

CarneVaca 03-12-2004 09:12 AM

Uh, these guys are definitely violating something here. Shipping the records before the release date is a big no-no.

Also, their price on the Rumours and Tusk CDs seems way inflated to me.

AgainLindsey 03-13-2004 05:56 PM

i'm glad i waited and didn't buy the original yet! this is rockin' news!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe they've worked some sort of deal out. Only Hit Music was selling VBoFM on tv well before it hit stores.

Let's call Mick and make sure, it's legit. He needs money.

Anymore, it's not too big of a deal if people break street date. Generally, the only penalty (and this doesn't generally go for large chains- if Best Buy breaks street date, uh- they can do whatever they want) that occurs is that the store in violation doesn't receive their shipments of new releases until the actual date of release, when they're drop-shipped often after the store has opened. I.E.- you f- with our street date, we'll f- with you getting your other releases from us on time.

I do think they have some kind of exclusive with Warners, though, where it's okay...

I'm disappointed in how high the list prices for all of these are. It looks like I'll almost be spending twice as much as I thought I would on them.

WelshWitchPMD 03-15-2004 05:17 PM

I got it today! Talk about fast!:D

estranged4life 03-15-2004 05:25 PM

I ordered...

my copy elsewhere for only $9.99 (I agree with Carne, their prices are way too over inflated...I only paid $13.99 for Tusk & $15.99 for Rumours elsewhere online)

I think I am patient enough to wait a few more days to receive the re-issues than to spend extra $$$ to receive 'em now.

i got mine too! crystal clear sound! 8 pages of liner notes from Parke Puterbaugh - with some pictures.
"The vocals of McVie, Buckinham and Nicks were individually distinctive and entwined in delectable harmonies. Guitarist Buckingham was a cool craftsman with impeccable influences," Puterbaugh says.........

i don't have the original first fleetwood mac cd with stevie and lindsey, and this is nice!

WelshWitchPMD 03-15-2004 09:02 PM

The Fleetwood Mac remastered Cd is the same price at Amazon that I paid at OnlyHitMusic.

Thanks for the heads up Daniel. I was able to order both Tush and The White Album but not Rumours. Can't wait to hear them.

 I know. I was very tempted to make a dumb joke about it but I'm always making typos so I thought I'd let it slide. :p

Do you think Stevie would have liked "Tush" better than Tusk?

AgainLindsey 03-17-2004 08:52 AM

All three albums were digitally remastered, which basically means all the levels (bass, high end, etc) have finally been restored to their former studio glory, or at least close to it :) Rumours sounds incredible, but I think the white album sounds the best of the three, probably because it had the worst sound of the three originally issued on CD in the '80s. I've been blasting the reissues in my car with the windows down...I highly recommend that :)

I think Rhino did a great job on the reissues... I'm particularly marvelling over the packaging and all the new photos. There's even a shot from the white album lyric booklet that may raise a brow or two, depending on your level of envy for Lindsey's "free spirit."

Even tho you're in The Netherlands, you should be able to order from Amazon and get them fairly quickly. Otherwise, the reissues are supposed to be released in the UK on Monday (22).

Daniel, thanks for explaining, they don't make a lot of it anymore. Fm is no issue anymore. The recordpeople are not interested in importing stuff like that.

BTW, with your windows down,?? I hope that it "never rains in California".
Here spring just began, and it's (very) windy. We don't drive that way when it's 7 degrees C. Don't know what in Fahrenheit.
I guess that you enjoy it, please do,

Will

I can confirm that the reissues are available now in the UK. I have all 3 in my hands now having bought them from Music Zone at the Trafford Centere in Manchester. I paid £12 for Rumours and Tusk and £9.97 for Fleetwood Mac. I know that's more than I'd pay on the net but I had to have them today.

It must have been my lucky day becauase I also got Bob Brunning's book and the authorised Peter Green biography in a sale in the same shop as I bought the CD's.

kak125 03-22-2004 12:50 PM

I just got my TUSK and RUMOURS reissue today. I work in downtown pittsburgh and there is a local record store that sells the cd's before the release date. I am so excited and am listening to the Sara demo as we speak. I never thought that I would get to hear this version remastered. WOO HOO! I still have to buy the first cd but I figured that I would wait on that one since I just spend about $52.00 with tax for the other two.
