ATLANTA show on May 15th!!
 

Let it be known that I will pay whatever I have to (lets be reasonable!) for a front row ticket to this show. I either want to be right in front of Stevie, or right in front of Lindsey. Preferably Lindsey, but whatever. I am going to this concert alone, so I wanted to post this in case someone else is in the same boat. If so, we can go in on tickets "together" because most likely front row seats are in pairs. Let me know...I'll do just about anything.

I'm also going to this show and would love, love, love front row tickets! I am going with someone though and will be flying to Atlanta, so I really don't want to be too risky and play that game where you wait until the last minute! So I may be crazy and buy multiple set of tickets if really good seats end up popping up in the end.

I wonder where the Atlanta show will be...some have said probably Hi Fi Buys Amp...

I'd prefer the Arena at Gwinett Center

I'm not doing the $500 fan club thing...it wont guarantee me a front row seat. The only thing that that package has going for it is the autographed tour book.

I hope it is at Philips arena, which is downtown and within walking distance to the hotels. They played at philips last June and it was a nice place. I feel like an expert now that I have been to Atlanta!:D

I saw them at Philips last June in Atlanta, as well as The Arena at Gwinett Center in Atlanta in September, which I thought was a much nicer arena..

I liked the fact that it WASN'T downtown...lol..i hate downtown Atlanta...and they actually had a FREE parking lot, not a costly parking deck.

According to www.fleetwoodmac.com, they are playing at Chastain Park! I cannot believe that, it is such a tiny venue! It will be great though, Chastain is a cool place.

But sheesh...it's going to be tough to get good seats. They have that deal with series ticket holders who get to buy up seats first. Or something. It's kind of weird.

Oh well. It wouldn't be a FM show if there wasn't stress over getting a good seat...

A bit of advice, make sure you get tickets up close because anything past half way back is VERY hard to hear based on my experience and I have been going there for 10 years. Also, it is a totally open arena, so bring an umbrella.

The plus side is it is right by my house (about a mile).

Lol...yes, if you're far back, it does suck. I've been 3 times...when I saw Stevie in '94, I was in row Z or something and the sound did suck. But I saw Chris Isaak on the 2nd row (on the side) and Stevie in the 1st row (on the side). Those were great shows, up close to a smaller stage and right in line with the sound.

So yeah...unless I'm down in front, I won't go to that show. But think positive, Strand! :cool: You might get lucky with tix...

But oh yeah...I forgot about it being out in the open. A wicked storm rolled in before the TISL show and I was worried they'd cancel the show. Gulp...

I was at most of those as well. Luckily a frined of mine lives directly across the street from the back of the venue. I usually go on his roof and have cocktails with him and watch most shows for free :laugh: But, for The Mac, I'll pay :laugh:

That's really odd for a Fleetwood Mac show to be at Chastain...hmmm wasnt expecting that one...It's a nice venue, small, intimate....but usually not a place for a big loud band like the Mac.

What part of Atlanta is the venue near? I want to go but after the stress that I had with tickets at Gwinnett I don't know now.

Well I was just looking at their website and there is something called a "Rock set-up" where the tables are taken out and it is less intimate, I guess.

But, will they be selling tickets for this on ticketmaster? I am sooooooooo stressed! I really want great seats, so does anyone have any tips on how to get good seats to a small place like this (where season ticket holders get first dibs)?

Yes they did this for Stevie's show at Chastain in 2001...it was a "NO TABLE SHOW" which is rare for Chastain shows...Chastain DOES have a sound ordinance after a certain time, so the band better hurry up and get on stage...I'm not sure the details on that new rule there...

Yes, ticketmaster DOES sell Chastain show tickets, but Chastain's tickets are also available at LOTS of other places..newspapers, season holders, etc.

Stevie's first show at Chastain in 2001 was sold out soon, so you can only imagine what the Fleetwood Mac show will be like...

It probably will sell out in any seat you want to sit in the day it is released. Chastain is very popular and most people have season tickets as part of packages, etc. My advice is keep trying or pay a scalper.

Since I will likely go to the Jacksonville or Nashville show as well, I may TRY the fan club thing for Chastain...since the first 30 rows at chastain, is very good...

And I will just do the old way for the other shows..

That depends on how lucky you feel and how pumped you are about the seat location. I do not ever sit in what I consider a crappy seat. So, if all they are offering is what I consider a crappy seat, I do not buy it. I just keep on trying for a better seat. Worse comes to worse, I go on Ebay, where I have had pretty good luck. I have also oaid a scalper before (front row Madonna last tour), but that was an exception and someone else actually paid for the ticket!!! :cool:

Chastain is HARD to get good seats for though, since there are a little under 500 seats in the pit, or what we know as the "floor."

Atlanta is going to be rough. A ton of people, including myself, are flying in. We all know the ticket game and we all know how to play. However, I think many of us will be dissapointed. I know nothing about the place they are playing (is it even confirmed yet?) and with this whole fan club thing with various tickets in the first 30 rows being saved, it's going to be tough. I'm skeptical but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Yes, it will be. I am flying in as well. I think the main reason is that they have a huge airport in Atlanta, so this is where everyone is going because they can get cheap plane tickets. I don't know what to do now though. I really want two mediocre to good seats, is this possible?

And really the pics were taken with a disposable camera, so they arent great quality..I didnt think the seats WERE THAT BAD then...now of course I've had much better,so im spoiled lol

Well, take me for example. I have never had a truely good seat to any concert and have never even been in the pit for a concert. Given this fact, will I be pretty happy with whatever seat I have at Chastain Park? It seems like such a small venue, that no seat can be truely awful.

No, you are right, no seat is awful, IMO...the funny thing is they actually have a lawn section RIGHT Beside the stage...lol...on the left side of the stage...kinda hard to see there, but its very close...and you can move into the aisles sometimes to see better..

So yeah IMO it's a great venue, they are very relaxed there...they never searched us or anything, no wands....we even got to see Stevies soundcheck through the wooden fence, with her hair in big rollers...We had a BLAST...

I could hear fine...in the beginning of the show it was kinda low...and we couldnt really hear what stevie was sayin good when she would talk.... and a bunch of people in the crowd started yelling WE CANT HEAR...TURN IT UP!! so they finally did

I havent been there since June of 2002 for a Jewel concert...and now they have some kind of sound ordinance there, since its in a neighborhood...I'm not sure of the details tho...I think it only affects certain days of the week...etc

Well if it's gonna be Chastain then I probably have NO CHANCES of getting front row seat in the pit. That stinks...usually those tickets are given away. Anyway...if anyone in the Atlanta area will be kind enough to sell theirs, here's the top bidder right here!

I did find a bit of info on the Chastain sound ordinance..There is a decibel ordinance in effect all days of the week at Chastain...while some smaller promoters have withdrawn contracts from Chastain...promoters like Clear Channel Entertainment (who is doing the Mac's shed shows this tour) have said they will, instead of lowering their sound....just pay the fines...

I so admire the headline for a deft turn of phrase--Music promoters may turn deaf ear to Chastain Park's noise limits --but it doesn't quite represent the strategy of the promotors.

If I may get on my soapbox here a minute :wavey:

Chastain Park is an area of mostly 1950's ranch style houses on enoumous lots that are slowly being torn down to build McMansions as we refer to them here in Atlanta. The average house sells probably for about $500,000 for the unrenovated ranch up to several million for the 8,000 square foot McMansions in the sometimes gated communities. Something like 90% or more of the people that live anywhere near the ampitheater bought the property knowing that they were going to live next to it. Yet, they are all uo in arms about the traffic (there is little to no parking so people park on the side of the side streets, etc.) and the noise. A friend of mine is one of the complainers. After awhile I just had to rip into him and say "Look you bought this house knowing damn good and well where it was and what goes on here in the Summer - So shut up - I mean it like buying a house next to the Atlanta airport - you lose your right to complain about the sound pollution IMO" :mad: But, these people have solwly but surely tried to eradicate the ampitheater :shrug:
