Fakes on ebay
Neil spotted this ebay item
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=3378465946 It has to be one of the worst fakes that I've ever seen and I'm pretty sure Christine wasn't at the NEC. Surely the band would have mentioned her if she was? But regardless of that the signatures look so fake to me. The seller sold this one recently too: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=3370373699 Seems Christine didn't want to sign this one ;) I did email him about selling fakes (I know I'm sad) and his reply was: I take your comment as slander, I had several items signed at the same time you fool, I don't make a living out of selling autographs so don't need to create my own. Get your facts correct before you pester people Hmmm... I did try to reply saying that questionning the authenticity of autographs is hardly slander and that selling fakes was exploiting the fan community but it seems he has my email addy blocked. Pip |
wow..those are pretty bad looking autographs...his defensiveness speaks for itself...there are some really sketchy people on Ebay....hehe
|
Well who ever brought that SYW cover is sadly £45 worse off! Don't you just hate people like this that are out to make a fast buck from innocent buyers? His reply definately says it all, and the fact he's bloked your e-mail addy too! He knows he's guilty as charged! :)

Well it has 4 bid now... it's at £26 so far. And of course he has selected to keep the bidders private... what a surprise!

Some people...
seem to think that if they sell "supposed" autographs that fans will buy 'em up, I seen it all too well when Dale Earnhardt passed away.
I'm glad I never went out of the way to obtain autographs from these frauds... Brian j. |
I don't get it
Why would anyone wanna pay for an autograph anyways?! You weren't there when they supposedly signed it. Even if a signature is NOT fake, I wouldn't pay for one. :distress:
Anytime you get a sig from a celeb, you should get a picture of them signing it as proof and if they are good sports, have them hold the signed photo up as you take their pic! |

I agree... nothing like getting it in person!

My friend Kelli took his picture as he signed the autograph for me and it shows Ken holding the autograph afterwards (He even signed it "To Brian in Oklahoma! Ken Schrader") Brian j. |
Assuming those are real, our bass player could've made a great docter. ;)
|
So umm Pip, he may have blocked your e-mail - but if you posted his he might get flooded from all of our e-mails! Is there some EBAY police or place to post on EBAY about him. Those are so obviously fake-anyone who ever looked at Stevie's signature once would know that wasn't real!

Pip,
:laugh:       : Everyone else, Send your e-mails. One from each of us should do! |
I've seen quite a few Lindsey Buckingham autographs recently (hehe;) )
and the main thing about Lindsey is most of them differ quite a lot... From an "LB" scribble (very quick), through a "L Buck" style sketch (end of show signature) and to a full "Lindsey Buckingham" (backstage moniker  ) depending on the time he has to sign the autograph. The one thing they all have in common is the little trait he has in his writing.. The "L" always has the same swirls and dips and this autograph doesn't come close.. So I would cast some doubt on it for sure.... p.s. I agree with Christy and ChiliD, a signature is only of value if you obtain it in person. :wavey: :wavey: :wavey: |
Those autographs appear to be all in the same handwriting.
|
what a dumbass.
has anyone contacted Ebay about this fraud? Pip? anybody? |
It's super sick but it's happening more and more. You can put up videos much anymore so now it's autographs. I see more and more fake ones. I don't OWN real FM autographs but I have seen the real ones enough to know those are fake!
So many people bid as well. And this person claims to have a COA...huh?! I agree with anyone, I wouldn't want an autograph unless I got one in person anyway ( and God knows I never been close enough...yet...can anyone get me close enough! LOL) |
I just sent this email to [email protected]
Hello, I am writing to let you know that Ebay has been contacted regarding these items you are selling as Fleetwood Mac authentic autographs: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=3378465946 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=3370373699 These autographs are fraudulent. It is easy to see with the naked eye when put up against authentic autographs from Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Christine and John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood. One of your items for sale is apparently from the Manchester 12/3/03 show and Christine did not even attend this show. She was at the December 10th show in London. If the bidder IDs were not "private," we would be contacting them directly. However, Ebay has been contacted and will be investigating the matter. Have a nice day. does anyone know how we can contact ebay regarding this matter? |
You rock!
|
I once got a horribly fake autographed Stevie photo on eBay sent from the UK. Serves me right though, there was no image. Otherwise I would have known right away.

Try using Help, contacting Safe Harbor (??)
At least their turnaround times are somewhat better although I feel their customer service still blows. |
Merf your e-mail was so eloquent. Mine just said in large red capitol letters: STEVIE NICKS HATES FRAUD!
|
He dug himself even deeper into the lie by trying to claim Christine was at the concert. She was definitely only at the last London gig. He should have at least claimed to have got it while at that show.... pillock

He replied! Woot!
His reply is at the bottom, my counter reply is at the top. This guy is an idiot. I will be emailing Safe Harbor about this. Ciao everyone! ---- To:[email protected] From:[email protected] I'm not a sad person, just someone who doesn't want to see a bad Ebay seller making money off a fraudulent item. "And you didn't bother reading the email" I sent? Well obviously you did because you knew just how to reply! You are the sad one. Have fun ripping people off, I hope you sleep well at night. Ciao! PS. I've never purchased an autograph off EBAY and never will-- I have a little more smarts then to buy a obviously FAKE autograph from a seller as shady as you. I laughed when I saw the autographs you scribbled on those $15 CDs. Because they LOOK so fake! Next time, try looking at a real Stevie Nicks autograph and practice a few times before getting a sharpie involved. Just a tip. >From: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: Re: Fleetwood Mac "Autographs" >Date: Thu, 15 Jan 2004 16:55:27 EST > >you sad person, you obviously have purchased fakes in the past, what you see >in my auction was obtained in person in BIRMINGHAM, you must have alot of >spare time and email addresses p.s. I didn't bother reading this email you sent |

What a tool! My email just got bounced back to me! With this error message: ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- ----- Transcript of session follows ----- ... while talking to air-xg04.mail.aol.com.: >>> RCPT To: <<< 550 gpbankstreet IS NOT ACCEPTING MAIL FROM THIS SENDER 550 |

christine was at her hotel in birmingham, I have alot of signed items from fleetwood mac over the years and the signatures vary, both bother me with sad emails. What an utter load of tripe! Christine has relatives in Birmingham...surely she'd stay with them rather than a hotel?? (More private for her perhaps?). Anyway none of that matters cause they are quite clearly FAKE!! Love Sarah |
For those who want to make a complaint
to eBay follow these steps
Go to the Home page of eBay click the Community Tab at the very bottom of the page click Feedback Forum at the very bottom of that page click contact Customer Support on that page select in BOX 1 Trust & Safety in BOX 2 click violations in BOX 3 click Other Violations questions then on the next page just click the grey box that says contact support. DON'T BOTHER with clicking the link to Other violations questions otherwise you will continue going round in circles and never being able to mail eBay with your complaint about A$$holes like this one selling fake sigs. :) Louise |
The guy called me a sad person too, after I explained that we know his autographs are fakes by just looking at the box set, where they all autographed CD inserts/CD booklet.
