Mirage Tourbook: Why Not?

I was just wondering, why there was no tourbook from Mirage? Doesn anyone have any info... was it beacause of the shortness of the tour?

I would guess that's probably the reason. The worst thing is that there was no tourbook for the Dance. I've got all the tourbooks from Rumours to Behind The Mask, but nothing for the Dance. And, that tour at least was longer than the Mirage tour and about as long as the U.S. Tango tour.

and i have no tourbook for "say you will" because when they played the east coast in May, there weren't any ready yet. that's poor planning for sure. actually, i do have one now because my friend kindly picked one up for me in Denver when she saw them.

no Mirage tourbook....yeah, i'm sure it was due to the shortness of the tour....i wondered how much they really were into making that record. it was right during the middle of everyone's solo projects. i remember at the time there were a lot of rumors that Stevie didn't want to be there and she might leave...she was too into her own solo project (BD)....plus, it was kind of downhill from the massive Tusk project....it wasn't anything groundbreaking, and they knew that. it's still a good record though.

Mirage always gets flack for not being that good, but I've always loved it! Alot better than TITN.

They would have sold well.
And the second-worst was the stupid wait for the SYW tourbook.

One of the things I have always pined for in Mac collectibles heaven, yet there is no such item except in my dreams.
I have about six Mirage outtake photos and one of Lindsey and I think they could have put together an awesome tour book for it and I was also sad that there was not one for the Dance.

I love that silhouette photo of the five of them against the faux blue sky background, the one that breaks apart at the end of the photo montage just before the vocals start for The Chain in the concert video. That would be a great tourbook cover.

I know the no Mirage tourbook thing was sucky. When I saw them,
there was a "Playbill" type thing they gave out at the venue, with
a couple of B/W photographs of them and a little story.
My friend has a Rumours(I doubt it's the White Album) tourbook.
I know it's morbid, but I told him he better will it to me.

I don't think there's a tourbook for the White Album tour either. By the way, the Rumours tourbook is a pretty valuable collector's item.:)

Yes, Exactly! That Photo is fabulous and I know that photo or one almost like it resides in Mick's photo book. I have a black and white photo of them against that background but they are visible, not in silhouette and I also have a picture of Lindsey with his guitar against that same sky background in color. What a tour book it could have been!

Pity that there isn't one

I would love to see one.

It's so funny, someone mentioned about a "Playbill" and the first thought was "A play book!"

Heh, the concert (from the tour video) could've been a pretty good dramatic musical.

All the pics that surround the Mirage time period would have made a great tourbook. Lindsey's hot time was more Tango than Mirage but Stevie looks very hot in this time. So does Chris of course! Everyone does! The pics are great and I don't see them as much ( so I'm not sick of them LOL) but it would have made a wonderful tourbook. Too bad there wasn't one!

We could always make one...with all the pics it would be easy!

I think the US Fest started on Sept 5 and I think in an interview I saw with Lindsey on MTV, he mentioned they were a few shows into the tour. I also think I heard somewhere that the last show was in Houston, TX on Halloween night.
I think the tour was cut short due to Stevie wanting to get back into the studio to work on Wild Heart and with her best friend Robin's passing around the Mirage tour, it was not a great time for her to be on tour. I think the other members just followed suit and did their own projects as well. JMO.

It was about two months. Started Sept. 1 in North Carolina & ended Oct. 31 in Austin. At the Orange County show, attendees got a little blue fold-over card with printed info about Robin Anderson & the City of Hope on it. There weren't any cards or flyers at other California shows, just the typical sales booth ****.

If I had my choice to have had a tourbook or a rendition of "Gold Dust Woman" that year, I'd have to choose the latter.

HomerMcvie 01-09-2004 11:30 PM

I have my ticket stubs somewhere. Let the search begin..........
