Uh mah Gah!!!!! They played Second Hand News!!!!! This was from the Boston show which was filmed for the DVD!!

It looked pretty good and there was some jumpers in the crowd, were those Ledgies?

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus, Dick mentioned their US tour beginning in May AND the Soundstage show!!

dissention 12-31-2003 10:54 PM

I was jumping like a maniac in the front row and I turned bright red when I saw myself. I'll never recover.

ETA: I just rewound it and it looks like me...I hope it's not.

When was it on?

I missed it because I thought they were going to play "Peacekeeper"!!

sodascouts 01-01-2004 12:32 AM

It was between 10:30-11:00 EST. I think about 10:45, give or take a few minutes.

I just saw that for the first time last night and it was SO good!! My DAD even really liked it, and it being a cartoon, that's saying something!! LOL My fave movie of all time is Toy Story, so YAY to Pixar for making these great movies!

Sorry you all missed it, but you'll see it when the Boston DVD comes out...or when someone puts it up on their website. ;)

Gypsy-Rhiannon 01-01-2004 05:46 AM

My Dad was all excited about the Mac being on (except for the fact that he goes, "they couldn't do a song better than Second Hand News?!!?) and he starts going on how great they always are in concert..anyway, right after the Mac, Justin Timberlake comes on and my Dad flips out. "HEEEEE follows Fleetwood Mac!?!?! He isn't even good enough to carry their luggage to the plane let alone follow them on TV...." He carried on about that for at least twenty minutes.

I am SOOOO happy they did not recycle Peacekeeper for the hundreth time. Actually, SHN was a surprise to me...I figured if they went old-school, we were getting GYOW, Rhiannon, or Don't Stop. But I have to say, I was almsot 100% positive we would get Peacekeeper again!!

golddustwoman77 01-01-2004 11:24 AM

I was really excited about the fact they didn't do "Peacekeeper" again! I was nice to be wrong. I'm glad, since they did an older song, that they selected one that you don't hear as much as "Rhiannon," "Dreams," "Go Way Own Way," etc. "Second Hand News" was more of a surprise.

Also, I was glad that they mentioned the Soundstage show coming up, but I'm especially glad they mentioned the tour beginning in May. That was good publicity since they said 3 billion people were watching the show worldwide.:D

Happy New Year, everyone!

I was thrilled and shocked when I heard the opening chords to SHN. It was a great performance and they totally rocked!

macko814 01-01-2004 08:43 PM

Performance online?

Does anyone know of any websites that have this performance posted (besides Burnish.net)? My girlfriend and I are confident that we are in it, but we can't see through the quality.

Is there anyone that would be willing to send the videotape?! ;)

WelshWitchPMD 01-01-2004 09:17 PM

Well, I missed this show because I was actually spending New Years Eve up in Boston. How ironic that they showed the Boston performance. I wonder if it was the 9/23 or the 9/24/ show. I am not sure what song that I made up to the stage in front of Lindsey at the 9/23 show. It might have been SHN. At the Boston show on 9/24 they did not let us up to the front of the stage for the first part of the show. I can't remember what song it was however when they did let us all go up. I did not document my Boston or Chicago trips so I don't have anything to go back and read about. :(
I really hope that I don't see myself on this video.

You probably saw me run up to the stage, then. They didn't let us go up during The Chain, but as soon as that was over, I was the first to rush to the front of the stage before Dreams. They didn't let a lot of people on Stevie's side go up at that time though, because some people had spilled beer and they were cleaning it up.

Ok thanks Dissention. It must have been around Dreams that they let people go up. I can't remember old age ya know.
I was up in front of Lindsey for SHN then. I was not right at the stage but right in back of someone who was. It was another Ledgie I believe, too. I was there movin and groovin to LB.;)

I had just arrived at a dinner party & insisted the TV be turned on right away & just in time.
Michelle, you said it all.

I too

I told my dad that they were gonna play Peacekeeper (he and I both love that song.) We were both a little disappointed that they didn't play it. However, SHN is one of my favorite old-school FM songs, and I like the way they arranged it for the SYW tour. Especially with the E-arpeggios at the beginning added later in the tour (why couldn't Lindsey have done that at Philly 5/19?) and the solo being played an octave lower than in the recording.

I've always felt that Fleetwood Mac sounds much better on live performances than studio recordings.

Janet 01-04-2004 11:12 AM

Damn. I was actually working NYE and it was so busy we didn't get the tv turned on until almost 12.

I knew they'd be on but I just couldn't grab a sec. It's cool they played SHN. What a great song!!

The tour in May. Duh. I haven't heard much about this so now I know. It's still a smaller tour right ( feeling very ashamed on not keeping up with FM!)
