Holy Cow - Manchester 4.12.03
Have just spoke to Wendy and Lisa who were at the Manchester gig tonight and I can't believe what they have told me!!
First of all they were dead chuffed to play Lindsey's guitar and he pointed at them saying 'Twins?' Cool! Then Tusk started and part way through Lindsey simply stopped playing. Apparently he had seen someone get hit by someone else down the front in the audience! He went up to the mic and pointed to the guy saying 'You hit him! Get the f*** out of our concert!' He was really angry. The Stevie came to her mic and said 'Get the f*** out of our concert. How dare you!' and then she gave him the finger!! OMG! The person involved had started to leave and a bodyguard came out from behind the stage to go after him. Then the and continued with Tusk - very professional. That's all I know right now but will let you know when I find out more Pip |
OMG!!! That is horrible that someone got hit, but that is funny as hell! Kudos to both Lindsey and Stevie for taking action.
|
Well...
If they're not going to change up the setlist, at least they are saying different things during the show!
"Get the f*** out of our concert!"...I like that. :laugh: |
Yep, just got back.
That's exactly what happened.. As I recall, the first thing I heard was Lindsey shouting "Hey.......... Hey!!!" then he angrily shouted "Hey you three, stop hitting that guy. HEY!!!! Get out of this building now! Get out of here!! Get the f**k out of our concert!!!!! NOW!" wow!!! I've never heard him so angry and aggressive at a gig!! Then Stevie looked down at them at the front (stood pretty much where Seteca, Wondergirl and myself were a night earlier) and said "How dare you?......... How DARE you behave like that in our concert? GET OUT!!!" The crowd cheered her! haha. :wavey: |

I hope this is on tape or video?
Wow I can wait to hear the rest of the story. |
So did she really give the finger or not? I am having trouble wrapping my mind around that.....
The whole thing is very ....... Mr. and Mrs. Intense. -Sharon |
Gotta love it!
I'm really happy to hear Lindsey called the people on their behavior. That probably kept the happenings of Reno from repeating. VERY cool that both Stevie and Lindsey lashed out at it. I'm having flashbacks to that "You F. with my fans, I'm gonna get real F. angry!" (Kinda like that Todd guy did with the fan club).

I didn't hear Stevie swear either although she certainly made her point.. Just differently than Lindsey! :wavey: |
The thought of Stevie throwing someone the finger has me in hysterics. Go Lindsey!
|
Oh my oh my...what a story...im like in shock
Chris |
LOL. I know the situation is not funny but I can't even picture Stevie giving the finger. I'd like to see that.
|
Good for them!!
so, did the rest of Tusk proceed normally?? Did they do the 'dance'? ;) |

Marissa, hee heehee!! Meanwhile, back at the batcave.... -Sharon |
shocked speechless!
UNBELIEVABLE!! But that's great that Lindsey and Stevie took a stand and put a stop to that kind of bull****.
I'd given a month's salary to have seen it in person! :cool: Now my mind is wandering...imagining Lindsey jumping into the fray....Stevie close behind, jumping on the dude's back, scratching him mercilessly with those nails.... :laugh: |
I think she could could've taken 'em all out with one big swift kick from the Franken-boks!

Trouble in Manchester
It was great to see thta Lindsey was not willing to let that sort of thing go unnoticed. He was very angry about the whole situation. Stevie did say 'HOW DARE YOU, HOW DARE YOU BEHAVE LIKE THAT, NOW GET OUT.....GET OUT OF OUR CONCERT!'
She cewrtainly didn't swear, and she did ppoint her finger towards the exits. Just a thought on that situation.... I think, when people are being allowed to stand at the front of a gig (which is very exciting and all) it gets people standing or sitting behind worked up....so is really asking for trouble. Manchester was fantastic optherwise though...... Dave |
Well - except for the dude who was beaten up - those who went should feel pretty 'priveleged' - you'll be able to say that you went to 'that Manchester concert'!
That said ... *please let there be no fighting in Brisbane* :P |
Manchester was utterly amazing, my friend and I went dressed as Lyndsey and Stevie and they (especially L) were lovin it! So much so that my mate Liz was the Come girl and at the end after they bowed L came up to us to thank us, saying 'you guys were great'! Im actually still recovering from this now. I then asked L to sign my White FM Cd cover then made him promise hed come back to England.
One thing, it was so difficult getting Stevie's attention, the professional that she is, she seems to have mastered the art of ignoring nutters like us screaming her name!! However after mouthing the word 'pleeeeeaaazze??' to her at the end she did come and shake my hand! amazing. :nod: :nod: :nod: :nod: |
I forgot to mention the fight which was right next to me...
it was at the start of tusk during the drum beat, L was about to start playing but saw these men fighting so he waited for a bit so theyd stop, when they didnt he shouted 'hey! stop fighting, get out!' at which point S came across and shouted 'how dare you! get out of our concert!' she was sooo cute, it obviously pissed her right off, u shouldve seen her face and the way she was smacking the tambourine during tusk!! as the lads who were fighting were leaving, they were giving L the fingers coz he was telling them to get out but S then gave the finger back! The entire audience started to boo the lads as they went! :laugh: :laugh: |

Anywhere you go with thousands of people, theres gonna be crazy nuts...especially when half of them are drunk.
I dont know what caused this situation..but if ppl are fighting because of standing people ON THE FLOOR...that's ridiculous..people will stand at rock concerts, get over it Chris |
Mostly people are fighting because of alcohol! There were some drunken idiot there on Wednesday night trying to push their way to the front and being very rude.

Three of them stood next to myself and Wondergirl at the front during World Turning (which was wild btw!! Check out this attached picture I took at the show) Plus as a bonus :rolleyes: we got an interesting alternative drunken rendition of Goodbye Baby..... :rolleyes: :rolleyes: Never heard Stevie shout it loudly out of key like that! haha.... The first show was amazing and the second gig was really great too.. Other than the now famous "Tusk incident" Stevie was as happy as I've seen her on stage, really enjoying it. She said some extra stuff too the second night about how she was so thrilled to be in Manchester and that the audience were amazing, she was really, really happy.. Then during Landslide, during the pause near the end, some guy shouted "Stevie!" and she just burst out laughing and had to recompose herself! Very eventful gig. :nod: :nod: :wavey: |
Madformac that is a great photo!!!!
:laugh: Thanks for more info about the show.... glad to see that Stevie was so happy!! Except of course, her showing that guy "the finger" and the door after he flipped Lindsey off! :laugh: I hope someone got video or audio of this... I guess we'll just have to wait and see! |
Great picture madformac! I take it I'll be seeing you in London?

Pip it was a pleasure to swap seats. Worked out to perfection for all of us....
Mike, thanks for your thoughts.. It is about time they played over here and they seem to be really happy to be here. At the end of the first Manchester show Mick said "Thanks for making it a f**king great night!" Never heard him finish by swearing before but then again he was REALLY happy in those 2 shows. Stevie said the crowd was really amazing on the second night too. Nice to see more interaction from the band in these final shows of the European leg. Anybody going to the final Earls Court show should be in for a great night.. :nod: :nod: |
~~~I'm completely impressed with the intensity and level of committment the UK fans have for Fleetwood Mac - you rock. It was pure joy to share the second Birmingham and both London concerts with the fun loving 'fireflies'. Pip, Louise, Sarah, Lisa, Wendy you all are amazing...
|
YAY for
Lindsey and Stevie.....!!!
Good for them...... |
I would have paid so much money to see that. If I had a crystal ball that told me that would have happened, I would have sold my car and went LOL.
Very interesting night! As for fighting, I got in a fight with a drunk girl who kept falling on me at one concert. She was kicked out but if you can't handle you alcohol why drink so much in public? I don't understand! but thanks again for everyone's first hand accounts! WOohoo! |
