Stevie and Lindsey's heritage/ background
Here's an interesting question:
Where do Stevie & Lindsey's ancestors come from? We know that Christine, John, and Mick are British, but does anyone know where Stevie and Linsey's families hailed from? I remember reading Stevie responding to this question once in an interview, but I don't remember what her answers were, lol. (Tell what your heritage is for further flavor!) :wavey: (I'm a first-generation Hungarian. We're famous for chicken paprikash, meat goulash, Zsa-Zsa Gabor:rolleyes: , sad-but-sweet gypsy violin, and Rubik's cube (the inventor, Erno Rubik, was Hungarian. )) |
Stevie is not the missing Gabor sister, dahlink.
In TOSOTM tour book she thanks Dugmore (if I remember) for being Scottish, so I assumed that's what she is on one side at least. - Jake |

Yeah, I've read that Stevie is German and Dutch. I'm not really sure what Lindsey is. I always assumed at least half British.
I, on the other hand, am just a mut. Basque-Mexican, German, Irish, Scottish, and Native American (Cherokee to be exact. Can I get a little "Half Breed" up in herre!) Susie |
I thought Lindsey had a bit of the British in him as well....That big palace has his name on it after all:laugh:
Seriously, I don't know his heritage at all. I knew Stevie had some Scottish blood, but didn't know about the German ancestory. Me on the other hand...My Fathers side is all Italian ( I don't know exactly from where...all I know is that it's near Palermo) and my mothers side is all Irish...I believe from Cork County. So I have a fiesty temper and can drink like a fish:laugh: !! |
Yeah, I remember reading that Stevie's ancestors came from Cologne, Germany. I think it was on her Mom's side but I don't remember for sure.
As for Lindsey, I really don't know. I guess with his last name he must have some English blood but who knows. I am also Italian on Dad's side and Irish on my Mom's side. I have one bad temper, too. |
I'm 100% Irish. My grandparents are from Mayo and Waterford and they go back every year. My mother was born in Ireland, but they moved here when she was three. My dad's side is all Irish too....(7 kids on his side, 9 kids on my mom's side.) LOTS and LOTS of aunts, uncles, and cousins, that's for sure!

I'm 100% Russian. But I prefer Swedish vodka...go figure!:D
|
I'd always wondered this myself...
Buckingham is a very English sounding name. But it seems nobody really knows about Lindsey's family history. I never knew about Stevie's family either though.
As for me, I'm mostly French-Canadian and English, with some Belgian. My gradfather is 100% irish, but since he adopted my mother, that doen't count for me. |
I am half Russian and part Italian and English.
|
I thought Stevie...
would at least be part "Gypsy" (I think the term is "Romanny", I may have mispelt it)...lol...
Btw, I am German from my Mother's side & Cherokee (I'm a member of the "Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma" and I have the CDIB to prove it)/Irish from my Father's side. Brian j. |
Is this going somewhere?????
Just answers, i'm nothing special, just full blooded Dutch. Will |
I am 100% Italian. My mom's parents were born in Naples. I'm pretty sure my dad's grandparents were from Calabria.

Some ideas
For a while (and I still do think), I had thought Lindsey looked Italian. I guess it's the facial structure, I guess.
Another idea I had (and still do) is that he's also part Greek. Why I say this is because every time I think of curly hair, I think of several things: those Greek statues and of course, Lindsey. So, whaddya think? |

I liked Long Distance Winner 'cause it was real kind of Greek, European... you know, like that kind of ethnic sort of a [sings a beat] 'duh, duh, duh, duh , dut da duh...' And it was wonderful on stage, and it was about Lindsey and it was, you know, a heavy kind of song about our relationship. Now see I probably would have loved that song much more because I would really sing it now. I wasn't very confident with my voice when I was in BuckinghamNicks ~ I didn't think I had a very good voice, so I didn't try very hard, I just basically sort of tried to back Lindsey up and make him better. ~Stevie Nicks, Earth News Special, The Songs of Stevie Nicks, 1982 |
