Well, it's nice to know where I'll be a year from now.:)

iamstevienicks 10-28-2003 11:37 AM

How peculiar/queer!!!

A big theatrical show from the queen of rock?

Mike

golden braid 10-28-2003 12:37 PM

I can't imagine her doing six dates back to back. Usually she likes to do every other day or a couple days on and then a day off. Is this the same place where Celine plays?

tommer 10-28-2003 01:51 PM

yes, it's celine's home base (right after her home in the middle of the forest made from candies!!!) and soon to be elton john's too.

The hotel website is not listing any event for that time period.

Don't sweat it. I hear there's room for you on the next California gubernatorial election ballot if you can get on Oprah and Leno.

I'll drink to that!!

And I've already made a mental note that my FIRST trip to Vegas will be to see Stevie... :woohoo: ... this is probably just a "special series" of concerts or something, not supporting a new album... because obviously when will she have time to do anything new while FM is on tour until (possibly) the end of next summer! And if you go over to the Lindsey board, Lindsey was spotted at a recording studio last Friday helping editing and overdubbing his Soundstage performance... and apparently he is more hyped about FM and recording a new album than ever.

Tommer.... Celine's house made of candies in the middle of the forest?  Priceless!

sparky 10-28-2003 03:58 PM

Interesting.
Homegirl singing six nights in a row ?
That won't be cheap.

strandinthewind 10-28-2003 04:31 PM

They must rent out Celine's space (it was built for her) when she is not there. The website says no one is scheduled for that time period. But, it could be too early, etc. Go here for more info.

This is BS. Mama Nicks would never do shows like that in Vegas night after night. VH1.com isn't even reliable when it comes to their program schedules, so I wouldn't out any faith in this. And doesn't Celine's show run for three years?

I'm inclined to agree. This sounds a little phoney. The minute I get official word from more reliable websites and hear about this from Stevie herself, I will start planning to go to Vegas...

Hawkeye 10-28-2003 05:50 PM

Yeah Stevie isn't one to book things a year in advance. And to be honest I DON'T want this to happen:eek: It just seems so wrong that Stevie is doing this. I always hoped this is something she'd do in her lat 60's after she retired from touring and recording life

It's pretty much the same thing as what she did in '99 and '00 at the House of Blues, though, only it's in Vegas. Mama Nicks isn't the kind of gal to have a flashy Vegas show.

We also thought we'd never see Mama without platforms or wearing the same damn dress (on national television, no less) but here we are. I'd bet money that this happens. She's probably getting a bundle to do it. Since Caesar's just built that hall, they probably don't want it to be dark so they're putting others in there when Celine takes a break.

My thoughts exactly!!!!! Stevie could easily sell out six nights in a 4,500 seat arena, esp. considering the other 25 luxury hotels in Vegas combined with the scalpers probably buy at least half of the tickets.

gldstwmn - you are so in my cabinet if I ever get elected to any office!!!!!!!! Someone's gotta keep me in line when I have a few too many cosmos and start singing/belting Happy Birthday to elderly couples in confined spaces like elevators and lobbies :wavey: :wavey:

Well, you have a point... I just find it a bit implausible that this has already been worked out and that VH1.com is the first to break the news. ;)

And...er...with all of our many political discussions, you never struck me as a Braun supporter (or ever mentioned her!!). What happened to Kerry, doll?!?!

By the way Dissention, you can be in my Cabinet as well, but we have to limit you time in front of the mic. to scripted speech only!!!!!! Otherwise, Heaven help the conservatives!!!!!!!

Do you think Stevie will do any stage tricks at that place? Mayby some FLYING witches during Rhiannon?!

I know several Ledgies who will volunteer!!!!

Cour 10-28-2003 08:15 PM

I think it's probably accurate and very Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac that it was found on the VH1 search function, instead of a formal announcement.

They just announced Elton John's contract last week and Stevie does have the ability to fill the venue for 6 nights. I don't see Stevie doing anything other than her typical concert and I doubt she'd even find it necessary to get a new dress for the occasion  No reason for Margi to break out the rolls of chiffon and fishnet!

Somebody needs to have Kim Brakely say "Oops, we lost that wardrobe case."

I would say we could bribe her but I think the problem goes much much deeper. I think the thing everyone refers to as a sweater (it's actually a blouse when you see it up close) has been revamped and it now has a lower neckline. I was watching her last night and realized at some point the neckline got a lot lower then it was when it first appeared on Leno. Unfortunately, what this means is...she's had another one made!! She likes it so much that she had it made again with a lower neckline.

I also noticed another similiar style on one of the dates on the second leg that had that little sweater look with some velvet trim at the bottom of the sleeves.

I was on a website today and there were all kinds of photos of Stevie from the Enchanted through TISL period and even though we were tired of "those" black dresses....they sure looked purty compared to this one, they definitely had more umph. It's also becoming so tired from seeing it so many times coming off a tour where a lot of us saw more than one show, and she wears it everywhere she goes:confused:

I hate to make predictions like this, but anyone want to take any bets on a Grammy outfit?

She's committed to being the anti-Brittney. Substance over style. Somebody needs to tell her that doesn't mean she should never change clothes, show skin, or act like she's less than a thousand years old.

OK....Some info. that might solididfy this info...

In a Cuban family you are exiled if you are not a Gloria Estefan fan, (so I have to be a medium fan)....well, she filled in for Celine THAT EXACT SAME WEEK this year. Jerry Seinfeld and other big names are also booked for various weeks when Celine is taking a break. So, it comes of no surprise that that week would be filled......I wonder if this is the proof that Stevie will be doing a solo album instead of another Mac album?

When will she have time to do another solo album between now and then? Especially if they come back to do "the sheds"... which I still think they are going to do... *crosses fingers* Wasn't TISL like a years-in-the-making album? And plus, apparently Lindsey is extremely amped about making another Mac album. ("Lindsey sighting" on the LB forum here) And you know what she has always said, if he wants to do one, they'll do one. The other three (she, mick, and john) are always game.

Races Are Run 10-29-2003 02:43 PM

Hi! Long time listener, first time poster.

Elton John is performing at "Celine's Place" during the times she will be "on vacation." I believe he is scheduled to do several five week/five days a week deals over the next three years. Maybe Stevie wants in on the action, or more likely, some drone at VH1 entered Elton's dates under Stevie's info. In any case, it would be cool to see her.

:wavey:

Beth 10-29-2003 03:34 PM

Im stoked to see her in Vegas! If she is really doing all those shows, I have a feeling it will be more of a Stevie Nicks and Friends. Or Stevie with a special guest most of the nights. Hopefully it wont be some bizarro Celine type production.....who knows. I totally love Stevie but the whole forehead diamond went on WAY too long, and now the black dress....lets cross our fingers she finds time to shop!
