Re-release of Rumors and Tusk, Bonus Tracks
If you go to the Illume Thunder Mix thread, and click the link, read the news, it says that Rumors and Tusk are to be re-released, re-issued, whatever, with new pictures, liner notes, and bonus tracks on Sept. 9 .... Anyone know anything on the Bonus Tracks, what they'll be?
|
Hmm, last I heard all three (FM, Rumours & Tusk) were coming out on 10/28.
I haven't been able to find out anywhere on the bonus tracks. If anyone here does find out what they'll be, PLEASE do post them here! :) I don't know why they would've bumped up the release dates so soon, but hey, I won't complain, sounds good to me. :) John |

Well then it looks like I have some downloading to do. I just bought Tusk and I'm not buying it again. :distress:
Hopefully Rumours will have some extra **** besides "Silver Springs." Since I already own at least 9 out of the 11 tracks plus SS on two different releases I just can't see the point of paying for a copy of the album so I can have those plus the two least best songs. If its a double with some juicy junk on it though i may consider. |

:distress: MAN... I just can't believe how negative everyone here seems about those two songs (IDWK & Oh Daddy). Oh Daddy IMHO is Christine's best song ever! I listen to it all the time! I just get chills when I hear it. And the DVD version is cool 'cause you can hear stevie's little harmonies real well. I would buy the remastered rumours just to have those two tracks remastered like the rest were on TVBO. Oh yeah and 'cause TVBO cut a few tracks a little short if you didn't notice especially in GDW! :distress: Francisco:D |
Does anyone know of any Rumours outtakes that might be released on this new version? I've heard of other album outtakes, but never any from Rumours, besides SS.
|
Well there was The Dealer and Think About It has already been released.

The sad part is that things which Rhino believes we are hearing for the first time are probably things that we've had for years. |
I don't think we're going to get much (if anything) in the form of demos on the remasters. They've had ample opportunity to release all the rare stuff and they never have. I think we'll end up getting live versions, single mixes, and slight alternate versions. No demos or unreleased tracks. :(
|
Though I agree with David and Dissention about what will most likely be the bonus tracks on these remasters and though I am generally a pessimistic Mac fan, this is one case where I'm trying to look at this positively in that OK, so we've probably already heard these "bonus" recordings (whatever they'll be) but at least they'll be presented in the form in which they should be to us (finally!). :)
It's like the GOS stuff, many were bitching that Lindsey's SYW songs are/were "old" (as they had already heard those songs on GOS) but those people need to realize that we weren't SUPOSSED to hear those songs. If you only buy "legally rreleased" albums then SYW songs WILL "be new to you". Same could be said for Stevie demos, etc. It's a win-win situation, either we haven't heard them yet (which is great), or we've heard them but not properly mixed/mastered, generations old copies, whatever. Either way, it's a step in the right direction however small it may be. At least "Rumours" and "Tusk" are going to be expanded to two discs, they could've just as easily stuck the full "Sara" and the vinyl "I know I'm not wrong" mix at the end of the remastered "Tusk" and left it at that, but at least there will be SOMETHING. As people know, getting something is better than nothing. Also, from what I understand, as the FM members were involved in OKing of the bonus tracks, it's not fair to say that "Rhino has decided what we get/don't get" as their hands seem to be more tied on this issue that many of us had previously believed (unfortunately). I've heard some already state here that they aren't going to rebuy the albums. That's there choice and I'm happy for them but I'm looking forward to them as I don't collect bootlegs so whatever new tracks will be on these will be new to me (for the most part). :) John (For the newbies: I have nothing against anyone who gets boots, it's just not something I do.) :) |
I would *love* to get a cleaned-up and properly released version of "Keep Me There". The melody of that song is just so awesome it gives me chills every time I hear it. Apart from the famous baseline part (etc) and the chords during the chorus, it's pretty much a different song to The Chain. I really hope it's on the re-release.:)

I bought all the albums back in 1998 so I will be buying the reissues because they cds are getting worn(although I have them on all on my computer), I want to have the actual cd remasters and support my favorite band, even if they are already rich... I am hoping that the reissues are going to sound great, I can't wait for "Tusk"... glad they are going to be two disc...

As unimaginative as it is, I hope they stick with the jewel cases for stury-ness sake as I'd wear out the cardboard sleeves too fast if they released them in those. :) Fingers crossed anyways though. :) John |
I know where you're coming from John, but for me I think I'd actually rather have the cardboard... as the lesser of two evils. Jewel cases just break too easily. My VBOFM cracked along the front within a week or so of buying it thanks to a hurriedly excited CD exchange with a friend in a Tokyo hotel corridor. ARGHH I was a bit mad. But those things inevitably break if you take them places. Now I have a CD carrying case with sleeves ... but even then it's nice to take the booklets also. SO at least with the cardboard ones, I can expect a reasonable amount of fraying around the edges (like any LP when you think about it), but at least it stays in one piece!

I'lll take a copy if anyone cares to make me one. ;) Fleetwood Mac has gotten enough of my money over the years, and I am not inclined to give them anymore in light of their sheer disregard for the economic realities of the fans.
|
I wonder if this will be like the Blondie re-released albums. They usually come with some unreleased live performances and unreleased tracks. That would be awesome!

I'm very exited about these discs
i'm buying everything they put out (hell if i'm fanatic enough to go to another country to see em life, then a few bucks for some cd's won't make any difirence either ;) I hope on the tusk disc we'll get the alternate sister of the moon version (with the aditional verse) As this song is my favorite song EVER love to have this paticulair version remastered love the piano demo too but don't see that ending up there :( btw i must have missed this but are the dvd audio's of tusk and fleetwood mac and the one of tisl stilll in the air anone? greetings marc |
