Fan-friendly Night In Louisiana!
 

Well, I am at the Shreveport airport typing my review. I hope I dont forget anything.....First off, I have to say hi to Pattie, Greg, Jan, Penny, and Ryan. (I am probably forgetting a few, forgive me!!) It was a pleasure meeting you guys! Pattie, like always, you are a true fan, and a great friend. We had so much fun!

OK, first off, security.........I didnt bring any gifts for Stevie cause I thought security wwould be tight. Boy was I wrong, they didnt even check Patties purse!!! I was oh so pissed! Some girl next to me brought **3** bouquets of roses. Around 6:15 we arrived at the venue, just after the band. It seemed they were running late. We went into will call to gte our tickets, and they didnt have patties ticket in the computer!!! She was getting very upset, and believe me, I would have too. They finally found her ticket. As we were exiting, the soundcheck began with "Dreams", so Pattie and I stayed to hear it, but of course, they kicked us out half-way through. We could still here sound-check outside the arena. After "Dreams" they did "Tthe Chain". The show started around 8:40...later than usual.

"The Chain" was just amazing, as always. Right before the concert, I picked as spot just to the right of Stevies mic, great location too. The security let us stand there the entire night. Well, while Stevie was doing her little pre-chain marching dance, she looked at me, and I gave her a little wave, and she responded by giving me a "tamborine-wave"
:eek: My face as I crapped myslef of course, lol! This was the first of MANY Stevie and me moments. I have to add that Stevie was DEFINETLY interacting with the crowd last night. But the crowd was DEAD! At one point I turned around during "Never Going Back Again" and we were the only ones standing. Worse than the Ft Lauderdale show!!! Other than that though, the show was great. The set-list was the same, so I wont go song by song. But during Eyes, Stevie was standing by the side of the stage and looked at me again, so I blew her a kiss and said that "we love her" and she got a big old smile on her face! Then, during "Landslide", while she was singing the "I'm getting older too" line, I signed the 5-5 sign and she was holding in the laughter! I thought she was going to kick me out of her mic! lol.

Lindsey was AMAZING!!!! No surprise, I'm sure. "I'm So Afraid" he was going so crazy his guitar chord wrapped around Stevies mic and knocked it down!!! lol! Then during "Silver Springs" he looked out into the crowd and went "shhh!" and looked at Stevie....kinda like "I wont tell if you dont tell". It was really funny. I'm trying to think of any more moments, but I'm pretty sure thats the major stuff. Overall, it was an AMAZING night! I am so glad I made the trek to Louisiana. What a worth-while trip.....One I will never forget.

OOH! OK, I brought Lindsey a Fritz t-shirt, and he took it, but didnt know what was on it...:rolleyes: . I also got Stevies set-list, so I have a nice souvenier to take home....and Pattie finally got a good autograph:D

They only performed "Dreams" and "the Chain" for the sound check. They kicked us out, so we couldn't here any small talk.

Yes, people were allowed to play, but the crowd SUCKED!!

Yep....several people including myself strummed Lindsey's guitar. :)

After reading this & remembering last week's lame crowd in El Paso, I'd almost petition for a Ledgies-only concert performance.
But we'd probably be at one another's throats over who gets front row. Unless, of course, we could agree on the only mature thing, putting me up there.:)

Hey there. The 5-5 sign is referring to Stevie turning 55 on her birthday. In the past concerts...she has signed that herself when she sings "I'm getting older too" during Landslide.

I was the one that posted about the girl kissing Lindsey....I was leaning against the stage....had just strummed his guitar...she pushed in front of me and motioned for him to kiss her on the cheek. As he was about to kiss her on the cheek....she turned her head and plastered one right on his lips. He wasn't upset at all....in fact....actually seemed to enjoy it. Let's just say...she wasn't the least bit ugly. LOL

That must have been the same one that had Lindsey sign her stomach She was very forward. These woman act like total tramps around him. Its sickining.

I may be wrong but I don't think so Hon. After the lip lock...this girl got the boot by security. She wasn't there long.

This one just about jumped on stage and lifted her shirt up! Lindsey is the new Tom Jones of rock and roll. LOL

Ahh...a boot well worth it i'm sure. ;) I guess I shouldn't have him sign my chest then. Damn. LMAO. :laugh: Jake, if Stevie was bendy like Madonna darling, and you were in the front row, she'd totally plant one on you if you motioned to your cheek...lol. We'll put you in front of Stevie and me in front of Lindsey. And of course, once you tell Stevie your Stripper name, she won't be able to not ravage you.....LOL!!!

I read Mick's board and they were all acting like it's someone they all know that had her stomach signed (Erika??). Who the hell gets their stomach signed?!? If you're reading this and you were totally intending to go there, why not go the extra mile and get a good body part signed?? :laugh: :laugh:

LOL I didn't see that. Yep....the new Tom Jones....and enjoying every minute of it. :D

I am going to post my review/story/experience when I get back home to RI tomorrow night. I am in New Orleans on a hotel webtv device and it sucks to type!!!
PS Lindsey is on the bed with me. LOL

I also read where her name was mentioned...but to be honest...I didn't see it happen. I think that was probably along the same time that John and I were making funny faces at each other. LOL
Alex had made signs for Pattie, myself, my cousin and one for him.
My cousin's sign read "Mick Rules". She was holding it up when he was doing his drum solo. He saw it...leaned down and said..."Aww...thanks". Further into the solo...he was standing directly above me....the spit started flying. I grabbed the sign from her and held it over my head to keep from being drenched. John saw what was going on and got tickled. I frowned at him...then started laughing. Several times through the night...he would make eye contact with me...make a screwy face and then grin. LOL

the audiences would be as lively as the OKC audience was...Now THAT was an energetic crowd who were appreciative of a show!!!

I had the honor, priviledge and great luck to be in the front row at Shreveport with Pattie standing beside me and my wife(who does not normally go crazy for Fleetwood Mac but just absolutely loved the show!) There we so many other diehard fans up there with signs and good behaivor. We got to stand up by the stage(thank you security) and watch the magnificant performances of Stevie and Lindsey. They were full of energy and Lindsey especially very animated. IT was so wonderful to see the interaction so up close between Stevie and Lindsey. Any questions about friendliness, anomosity just went out the window. They were connected. My wife was standing at Lindseys feet and we were so close we got sweated on and spit on(esp. from Mick.LOL) I swear Stevie met my eyes one time and I smiled at her and got a big smile back and my heart just melted..... THey did have lots of interaction with the audience. I loved the little Tusk dance Lindsey does and got Stevie to move around with him..priceless... I don't know if I can EVER get any seats anywhere else but front row. THank you again to those that keep up informed out here about good seats when they come up-you are our seat angels. I thank you so much.

I know where you were standing. I was in a corporate box, and could see the whole venue without the stage lights in my eyes, but only with my ever present concert binoculars. This show is very dark, as in unlit, and without them, I wouldn't even have been able to see any people.

I saw Linds get SEVERAL standing O's...yes, people played his guitar at both sides of the stage. People tended to sit during acoustic songs, but during the classics and the rockers (Stand Back, GYOW,GDW,etc), they were on their feet all the way back to the sound board and up to the rafters. You may have only been able to see the first few rows behind you, cher, but they were there.

People were dancing in the aisles up in the balconies, and in the first level oval area, and the folks sitting were chair dancing, head bobbing, swaying, clapping,yelling.

I didn't see dead and sucked. I saw middle aged, well mannered people who apparently can hold their liquor better than many. Think about Reno. Think all the reviews in here where someone has complained about "some drunk chick all pushing in my way" and the whole sit /stand controversy where people are invariably ticking SOMEBODY off one way or another. They let you have the stage edge to stand up. The people down front sat down so others could see. Where's the beef? You want obnoxious? Come back to town whenever Metallica or Korn is here.

BTW, they did in fact have staff checking purses, etc. I don't know why your party didn't get checked?

On a lighter note...did any of you visiting Ledgies get to go do anything post concert? The casinos, riverfront clubs, or anything?

And yes, that song is Dreams. That reporter is not the usual person who does the reviews. I've never even HEARD of her. She will get hers, though. The Times reviews itself and gently chastises it's reporters for mistakes in a column written by the editor. She will be mentioned by name, that reporter; and the correct song title WILL be pointed out to her. :)

Yes, I agree. One show I went to, Boise allowed beer on the floor. It was not fun, drunks everywhere.. Salt Lake did as well, but a much more mild mannered crowd. I would rather be in a crowd that is laid back and sits down than a crowd that gets all rowdy and pushy.

yeah I know, I was being sarcastic. If I didn't know that the line, "Thunder only happens when it's raining" was from "Dreams" it would be time to take my Fleetwood Mac card away.
