Europe

Hi eveyone,
Is there a possibility that Mac will visit Europe? They are touring around USA at this moment. We don't get much information here.Last time i've seen them live is 1990 in Utrecht-Netherlands. They played oninspired, a few days later Stevie announced that she would leave Mac. Which she did. Now 13 years later is Mac back with a new album and tour. And this might be the last oppertunity to see them alive and kickin'. Including Lindsey. And there's a rumour (how strange??) that Christine will join the band again. She seems to be tired of retirement?
Is there someone who will (and can) give me some answers.
Europe is waiting for them as well.

Will

tommer 07-21-2003 04:36 AM

welcome to the ledge Will.
when i think about FM coming to the netherlands i start drewling... :p but unfortunately i already lost any hopes for such a miracle to happen, just to stay on the safe side (considering the fact that i cannot afford going twice) i'll be delaying my amsterdamian vecation for this summer until a week before the schoolyear starts. the fact that no info is being provided whether the promised "world tour" might eventually occure or not is very frustrating, although many years of being a FM fan should have tought me to never expect anything, i keep insisting on hoping and eventually feeling like a dumbass :distress:

Bumperke 07-21-2003 04:47 AM

Tommer,
thank you for welcoming me. I'm flattered.
May i ask, do you have relatives in Amsterdam??
Concerning your reaction, we both agree that it is time that the "chain"visitses Europe ( and perhaps Israel or Greece). I would go to London, Brussels, Munich, Vienna, Barcelona, even Athen if they just shown up.
But isn't there any American fan who does more, or is more of an insider????
Will

tommer 07-21-2003 06:24 AM

no, i don't have any duch relatives, it's just that amsterdam happens to be the coolest city i've ever been to and therefore i rather spend my vecations there.
i don't expect them to come to israel due to the current ****ty situation here, the only time they were supposed to do so was back in 1988 and it was cancelled (which obviously left me heartbroken, took me 9 years to eventually see them), but greece would be cool enough :D

Well Blackdove, You can do it, from were you live it'll be not more than 250 miles. I suppost you will go, i hope you can.
A flight connection with Dublin from Amsterdam or Maastricht will be quit a crime. So i hope they'll play in London or so. Thanks for the tip, we'll just have to wait untill they enter our continent.

Will

As anyone knows, even the Europefans will never break the chain.

The Catdancer 07-21-2003 04:22 PM

WOOOOOOOOOOOOW

This is the greatest news ever. I was lurking on Mick's board and the German date has been confirmed. Someone saw an ad for November 13 in Oberhausen. This is sooooooooo cool.
There's no doubt in my mind they'll come to Holland too. I can't wait to see them again!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D
Debbie

chiliD 07-21-2003 04:28 PM

This is great news! But...don't expect "Tell Me Lies" (actually, "Little Lies"), unless Christine crosses the Irish Sea.

Being as how both Mick & Lindsey have brought their entire families along on the tour, I couldn't see them NOT making it a "World Tour"...how else would they be able to let their kids "see the world" and STILL be able to count it as a tax deduction??

iamstevienicks 07-21-2003 04:29 PM

Fireflies spy in the camp, now has tale of 9 UK DATES!!!

Manchester, London and Birmingham as definite, this is from the mouth of mICK TOO

ryan8472 07-21-2003 05:28 PM

This is so cool! I'm really happy for all the European fans who finally got their wish! I truly wasn't expecting Ireland and Germany to come up for a while. I still havn't seen any dates in the UK yet, but I'm positive they'll be there! By the way, when was the last real "world tour" for the Mac (with Lindsey that is)? Was it the Tusk tour?

wondergirl9847 07-21-2003 05:30 PM

No, just wishful thinking. I just came back from the states to see two incredible Macshows, and now they are going to play Europe!!!!!!!! I'm so excited and I really wish, they'll play Amsterdam.

PS: I was in Utrecht in '90, too. Get ready for some real freaking rocking lindsey now, because this is really something else!!!

Welcome to the Ledge, (say you;) ) Will!!! Good timing! You asked a question and the next thing: European gigs announced!!!

gerald

strandinthewind 07-21-2003 07:04 PM

Rumor??????

Will, where did you hear this rumor of Christine being tired of retirement--that would be so awesome if she decided to join up with Fleetwood Mac again. The chain would be complete! Now I have to know....

Hawkeye 07-21-2003 08:47 PM

Yeah Will, do you think you could start a thread titled "Buffalo" for me. And then start a thread called "make a new album fast after the tour is over" You seem to have a gift:laugh:

tommer 07-22-2003 01:48 AM

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!
http://www.amit.org.il/hagim/pesach/images/yamsuf.gif
i'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO going to both london and amsterdam!!!!!
i am SSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOO incredibly happy at the moment that i'm about to start kissing and hugging my co workers here
PLEASE.... could you guys provide some info when the tickets go on sale on where they can be bought online?

changing schedule for the next 2 hours:
1- leaving the office. i cannot concentrate anyway. i'm useless today.
2- calling my friends in london to let know i'm coming on november
3- leaving work and going to my old and cheap grandma to beg for some emergency sponsorship

Bumperke 07-22-2003 02:53 AM

By God, no, i'm not gifted, i wish i was. But i have to admit it that it is curious. In order of the rumour that Christine would join FM during the European tour, i must have read that somewhere.

That is no wishfull thinkin'. Not that i would'nt be glad if that happened, but i seriously heard.

But hey you ledgy's, we all should meet somewhere central in Germany, there are a few Dutch, and German fans around, let's make it a night to remember.

We'll all wait 'till after the concert and try to convince them that need to make more records (joke). Should be good for Mick. After all, he seems to spend a lot of money.

Isn't this a great idea, all Mac addicted people telling about there first misic passion? :D
Please let me know.
And you American fans, we've not seen them since 1990 ( with Lindsey since 1980), should we be prepared ???:blob2:

It'll be totally worth it Tommer (but you know that anyway!! lol).

I have realised that it is very likely that this will be the last time Mac tours Europe/UK, so I am going all out to see as many gigs as I can. There are no UK dates announced as yet, but I'm sure they are to come soon. I shall go to Dublin in Ireland, all the UK gigs and if they don't do UK then I'll be going over to Germany too. I'm gonna seriously have to bend my plastic for this

Can somebody tell me please when they're going to play in Amsterdam? I haven't heard anything about that and Warner Music over here won't tell me anything. They're so helpful.... NOT!!!!!!!

Heehee, that would be SWEEEEET!! Stefan, Maik and I will probably meet up for one concert anyway and we've already started discussing which city would be best (but haven't been able to come to an agreement yet  )

We could have a huge FM pre-or/and-after-show party!!! :woohoo:

Yep...1980....23 years ago!!!

This is absolutely fantastic news. I was fully confident all along that they would come here, and I'm glad that they're living up to their promises. I know the band has a reputation of letting its (UK) fans down...but Mick said in multiple interviews that they would definitely be coming to the UK, and they also stuck "WORLD TOUR" on millions of album covers all over the world.....so if they stayed in the U.S.A, that would be a SERIOUS disappointment and let-down.

I'm going to try to make it to as many UK and European dates as my wallet, uni. timetable, and bank manager will allow!
