I would hope so if fans from the last leg go, it would be nice of them to give us a new updated set of tunes and a tourbook!

Yeah I want a tourbook dammit! What the hell is taking them so long? You'd think Mick & Co. would be jumping at that chance to gouge us!

I don't see "Oh Well" sliding in there.

& unfortunately, I tend to agree with gldstwmn in thinking that it probably won't change. Gestures, speeches and all :shrug:

Yeah, but how many cities on the second leg are repeat stops? It looks like several of them are, and I would hope they would change it up a bit for that matter...and heck, for their own selves so they are not just up there phoning the show in that they have been doing since May.

Most bands tend to change things up if they do a second leg in repeat cities. I know U2 does....

For example...It makes sense to replace "Come" with something else...the guitar solo is awesome, but I've already seen it and wouldn't mind something fresh if I'm going to shell out big bucks again.

Seven Wonders and Sara are the two that I most want to hear however she refuses to do Sara ( even though from what I understand it is one of the most requested songs). It would be nice to have a diffrent set list but hey I have never seen them live before so anything they perform wil be new to me in a way.

Can someone tell me how much time off are they allowing themselves from the end of these dates to the start on the next leg? Are they going to even give themselves enough time to rehearse new songs? I sure hope they switch it up a little bit. I am not expecting at all a whole new set list but at least 3 new songs would be doable, dontcha think?

If I hadn't seen the show already, I wouldn't want the setlist to change all that much, but now I would love to see something totally fresh like:

Listening to the Anaheim show on the radio last night (which was fantastic...what a great performance), I wrote down my updated dream set list for the second leg of the US tour. Here it goes:

All great suggestions for a new set list! Too bad that, chances are, the set list is completely set in stone at this point. Makes perfect sense to change the set around a bit to make it fresh for the second leg of the tour. But I just can't see them ever being that adventurous; they'll play those same songs to their death.

Yet, considering everyone's gripes (mine included) about their set list being more than a little stale, it could be worse. In comparsion to their Dance tour, they do include at least a respectable if not completely satisfying portion of new material:

Of course, I'll continue to lament the dropping of Destiny Rules and Running Through The Garden (a would-be concert stape if they gave it a chance). Least we have some rare live versions of those songs.

Did they do "Eyes" on the Dance tour? I know it was done on tours a long time ago...but it's new for us more recent fans... I like hearing that one live...

"Eyes of the World" was performed on the first night of THE DANCE tour, I think in Connecticut...but it was dropped after that and replaced with "Second Hand News."

I know a lot of people are going to be like "WTF" when they read this, but..

I just hope Stand Back stays. I wasn't expecting to like this before the concert, but it was DEFINITELY a highlight for me. I don't know why, it's not even close to being one of my favorites.. but it was so much fun live. Same with Eyes and SHN.

Oh, I forgot to add Eyes of the World to my list of songs (that make this tour set somewhat unique).

Eyes of the World was first performed and included in the group's 1982 tour for Mirage

It wasn't performed again until 1993, when Lindsey included it in his solo tour set.

Apparently, the group initially intended to add the song their Dance tour set. They performed it on the first show of the tour. However, like Running Through The Garden, it abrubtly and mysteriously dissapeared from the set.

It's nice that they decided to include it for the Say You Will tour. It's barely a scrap of song lyrically, but it's a fun Lindsey-fied song.

Anyone notice how the arrangement of the song has changed through it's various live incarnations? For example, the intro "new" live version forgoes the vocal intro and instead employs a guitar riff.

Yea, of course! I loved both types of intro...that Mirage vocal back-and-forth between LB and Christine was fantastic, but when I heard the guitar-intro version live on this tour, it gave me goosebumps!!:cool:

Well...of the very first, original dates announced, the last show was Auburn, WA. Then they added a new batch of dates which begin in Boise, ID just 3 days later. So no time to really rehearse something different there. Then in between that batch of dates and the ones that were just announced (beginning with Biloxi), there is almost a 3 week rest, but it might be just that...a rest. (For vocal chords and to be with family!) I'll keep my fingers crossed that they mix it up a little for those of you seeing those shows, though!
As much as I would love to see tons more new songs (I can't even deal that "Garden" didn't make it! I totally agree that it could have become a signature Mac song!), I think they're giving us a fairly hearty dose of them, considering just how many songs they have to choose from. They have to appeal to the masses as well, but in addition to the new songs, I know we would all like to see some "rare" old stuff played too. I would write a novel if I started suggesting songs! Seven Wonders and Tango MUST be performed at some point before retirement! I couldn't be more pleased with Beautiful Child, which I never would have expected. I don't know about ya'll, but I (politley:) ) begged Stevie to do any of her Tusk songs when I sent her a Christmas greeting via the Nicks Fix last year. Perhaps its performance was her own decision, but maybe she really heard us! There are always staples that even the hard-core fans love...can you imagine a Mac show w/o GYOW?! Maybe you can, but I'm SURE you have a different staple you can't live w/o! I find it interesting that Stevie will no longer perform Sara because she was never fully satisfied with the way it translated to live performance, but I think this song is much better live than Gypsy (on any tour). That was definitely a mind-boggling studio moment! Hopefully they're just waiting to get into some Buckingham Nicks stuff until after the CD comes out. It would make sense for people hearing those songs for the first time at a show to be able to easily obtain the album afterwards. I feel the way new songs go over all depends on how much energy you're willing to put into MAKING the audience feel them. Stevie is certainly capable of doing this, but I'm sure it takes a lot to regain confidence for such things after so many years on drugs. Drugs provide confidence! Waddy said in his Q&A that he knows what a capable and captivating vocalist she STILL is, but that she gets comfortable with certain songs. (Not that she doesn't still usually sing her butt off on those songs!) On the other hand, she played a lot of new songs on the TISL tour, including ones that she had to know wouldn't go over as well as some other songs on the album.

Perhaps many of you are :o ing by now!

It didn't give me goosebumps, it kind of irritated me because they ommitted so many notes, it made it hard to sing along with.

But this song does kick ass live.. I just wish they'd play ALL the notes in the guitar intro, and not just almost all of them. It just sounds.. I don't know, it just sounds watered down, like they can't pull it off so they trim it down a little.

Which part exactly do you mean?

I was talking about those guitar chords LB plays over that opening fast drum beat....as a substitute for those vocal exchanges he used to do with Christine on the Mirage Tour.

As for the famous EOTW guitar riff itself...I just had another listen to the Birmingham show version and the only differnce I could hear is that he no longer plays the slide from the 2nd to the 3rd note...he just plays...1..2...3..instead of 1...2....2-3....

Yes, I'm talking about the riff.. but in the messy part after the 1 2 2/3. If you listen to Mirage EOTW and then listen to a recording of it from this tour, you'll catch it. He's done it at every show I've heard taped: Columbus and Birmingham, and he did it in Nashville too.

Haha...yea I just had a listen to the Birmingham show...I see what you mean, some of the notes have been removed and others allowed to ring through to their place, especially towards the end of the riff. I hadn't listened to the Mirage version(s) for so long that I completely didn't notice!
