Whose going to Phoenix?

Hey...so the Phoenix show is in a couple of weeks now...any Ledgies going to that show?? I'm going...and would love to meet some more Ledgies :)

bellablue21 07-06-2003 08:38 PM

I am going to the show. I was one of the suckers who paid for the donor package. It wouldn't be bad if I wasn't a broke college student. But I am really excited and can't wait!!!

Janine

WelshWitchPMD 07-07-2003 12:04 AM

Yes, I also got a donor package. I am coming in from Rhode Island. I am excited this is my second AHI benefit concert. Last year Stevie signed autographs after the show. It was worth the $$ and it's for a good cause. It will still be a great concert without the donor package too.

seeknpeace 07-07-2003 08:41 AM

I am so thrilled for you guys that got the donor packages this year. I have in years past, but, not this year. Going for the reg seats...but, I will be there. This was kinda last min for me so I did not have time to get the seats. I just hope that this show is not a stuffy as the other AHI shows. The muckety muck do not want to stand or boogie and that is a bummer, huh?:wavey:

bellablue21 07-07-2003 10:39 AM

Question...

Pattie, if you don't mind me asking where are you sitting? I am sitting in SEC A Row 6 Seat 7. Now the lady on the phone that sold me my seats told me that I was on Stevie's side. I find this odd that I am on Stevie's side because seats start stage left and get higher as they go to stage right normally. I was hoping you could help clear this up for me since you have been to AHI shows before.

I wouldn't mind sitting on Stevie's side but I was kind of hoping I was on Lindsey's side so I could look at him the whole time:D

Janine

DrummerDeanna 07-07-2003 04:23 PM

I too am a poor college student, but did not spring for the donor package, and I did get better tickets than I did at the AHI two years ago...so that will have to do :) I'm still excited....and hope to see some of you Ledgies there!!! How exciting...

I have section A Row 3 seat #18. I really think that your seat is near Lindsey. Don't quote me on that however. When do you arrive in Phoenix? I will be in town from Saturday till Tuesday. I was thinking of a get together on the Sunday for whoever is in town then. We can have a get together on the Monday also but that might not be good for the non donor people.
Last year we had a get together the night before at the Hard Rock and another one the night of the show at a restaurant. I had to leave early from the get together because I had a donor ticket and had to be at the pre gathering. I did not get to really talk to anyone that much.:( If anyone has any ideas please speak up.

DrummerDeanna 07-08-2003 07:47 PM

I'm going to be there the Saturday before the show as well...I'd totally be up for a Sunday before get-together!!!

bellablue21 07-08-2003 08:15 PM

I'll be getting there at 9:00AM on Sunday. I would love to get together before hand and meet some Ledgies. Is anyone else staying at the Hotel San Carlos? That is the hotel the AHI recommened.

Janine

ShangriLaTroubl 07-08-2003 08:47 PM

It would be cool if they put some cool surprise things in the set, because it's a benefit and all...

Chris

gypsysara 07-09-2003 02:27 PM

Hi you all! :wavey:

I will be there - in BFE but I will be there. SMILE and DAT recorder rollin.

Im at the Residence Inn I got it for $50 on Priceline.com good deal IMO.

Im going alone out to Phoenix so I hope to meet some of you there, but if not, I wont be so "alone"... Ill have the Mac! :)

DrummerDeanna 07-09-2003 04:44 PM

Sweet!! There are a lot of Ledgies going!! GypsySara...I, too, am traveling to Phoenix alone....and still don't know where I'm staying  haha..but I think I've got a place that I stayed at last time I was there...

Anyway...so yeah...hopefully we can all meet up...anywhere downtown is pretty east find...Alice Cooperstown? HardRock??

Livia 07-09-2003 06:07 PM

Count me in!

Here's my rationalization - I REALLY need to visit my 93-year old Grandma in Tucson. And I already told them I'd be there on the 18th - I was going to cancel the whole AHI trip due to the addition of El Paso and Lubbock. But I really need to see my family...so I just bought my airline ticket a few minutes ago.

Don't have a concert ticket yet, but will be watching Sticketbastard like a hawk between now and then...

:wavey:

WelshWitchPMD 07-09-2003 06:31 PM

Ok How about the Hard Rock Cafe downtown? Is that I good place to meet on the Sunday night? We had a gathering at the Hard Rock the night before the show at the 2001 benefit. The Hard Rock was in a different area of Phoenix before. It closed the Sunday after the show. It has now re-opened downtown which is closer to the arena.
I just booked my hotel yesterday. I am staying at the Wyndham downtown. I stayed there the last show when it was the Crowne Plaza. I am also going alone like I have been to all the other shows.

gypsysara 07-09-2003 06:40 PM

Sounds good, but I wont be in town until mid-day on Monday. So, Id have to miss it. In fact, thinking about it now... I doubt Ill see any of you Ledgies... its only like a 24 hr trip for me. Unless there is a meeting before the show, but Im sure you all will be busy resting and getting ready! Well someDAY Ill meet some of you hopefully.

bellablue21 07-09-2003 07:57 PM

The Hard Rock would be great cause then we can see some Stevie memorabilia:) I can't wait now!! I was wondering what was I going to do there for three days, now I have somethings else to look forward to.

Only 12 more days!!!!!

Livia good luck in getting a ticket! Everyone seems to get good ones the last few days before the concert.

Janine

Jan 07-09-2003 10:26 PM

Christie (Birmingham) and I (Atlanta) also bought donor tickets. This is our 3rd benefit and we have had a ball at all 3. We are on row 2 Seats 18 & 19. Hope to jmeet some of you. Pattie, guess we will stay at the same hotel.

Livia 07-10-2003 11:27 AM

The Hard Rock on Sunday nite sounds good to me! I plan to drive up from Tucson Sunday afternoon, before it gets dark. Pattie, check your pm's!

:wavey:

DrummerDeanna 07-10-2003 02:18 PM

Well, I'm up for HRC...and Gypsysara...I'm gonna be around with nothing to do....so I'm also willing to meet whoever on the Monday before the show....perhaps pre-show dinner? or just a hello..whatever...

gypsysara 07-10-2003 02:23 PM

That sound fun/fine to me! If anyone else wants to meet up there pre-show, post here and we can set a time. Livia & Pattie if your not busy pre-show, come to dinner w/us! It'd be fun... but LOL likely you Gold Dust Women, silly dreamers, will be getting ready! :)

DrummerDeanna 07-10-2003 03:21 PM

Well cool...before AHI a couple of year ago I went to um..Jacksons? Lol..it's right across the street from the Arena, but so is Cooperstown....and I think Cooperstown would be cool too...I'm not too sure what else is down there....but I'm so looking forward to meeting y'all!

bellablue21 07-10-2003 07:41 PM

If it is alright, I would love to meet up pre-show on Monday night too.

Janine

gypsysara 07-10-2003 08:02 PM

Any place is fine w/me (im mellow when it comes to dining choices). I cant recall the name of the place everyone was supposed to meet at during Stevie's 01 benefit there. LOL I remember going to the place and no one was there. I felt like a dork so I left, and went to eat some pizza. After the pizza, I walked out and saw John Kinney w/two other ladies walking out of the place we were supposed to meet at. I popped back by the original place and didnt see anyone, so I whimped out and just went back to my car  cause I was too whimpy to ask.

I dont know the city at all though, so Im game for whatever. Bella, sounds good - please do join whomever will be there (which may just be me and Drummer Deanna but hopefully more!!!). BTW, my photo is in the "chit chat" folder under "post yer picture" to see what I look like.

Wonder if any of these places takes reservations? If its just a small amount of us, we should be fine w/out one, but with a larger party maybe call ahead (??). Im getting excited between FM being here in town this upcoming week & then Phoenix! Finally - AT LAST - my waiting is almost over!

Jessica Leigh 07-11-2003 12:03 AM

Hard Rock does not take reservations unless the party is really big... more than 8 or 10 i believe... and they won't seat you unless at least half of your party is there- so stragglers aren't appreciated... don't mean to sound mean but i work at that hard rock and we get really really busy around concert time and they won't hold large tables unless everyone or almost everyone's there... it is a very excellent location for those going to the show.... america west arena is like 50 meters out the front door of hard rock.

when you walk in... on your left hand side there is the attached stevie photo with a tango era (non LB) pic of the band and an all access pass from tosotm tour which is incorrectly named "the queen of hearts tour" and also a working cloth sticky pass from the Fm tango tour i believe..... below that display is a rumours platinum album.... lol a few weeks ago someome shot a spit wad up there and it stuck right on stevie's forehead btwn her eyes.... it was pretty funny but i got up there and cleaned it off..... yuck.... then around on the right end of the bar up by madonnas jacket and cher's bustier there is a small display with stevie's wooden block and a cowbell...

hard rock is fun but personally i'd recomend cooperstown which is the same distance from the arena as hard rock is... but on the other side of the arena by a different entrance... it's much more relaxed and the food and drinks are CHEAPER! lol ... they have a cool patio to hang out at... and is really just better and easier for a large party.... good luck!

have fun everyone!

DrummerDeanna 07-11-2003 11:20 AM

Hey Jessica!! Will you be joining us for any of these??

And yeah...I think for the MOnday pre-concert Cooperstown would be better...JMO...it's more open and stuff...

But maybe those of us meeting Sunday evening can do HRC?? Any input? Really I'm up for anything...

Also my pic is on the chit chat board as well...:)

gypsysara 07-11-2003 11:37 AM

Ok, Im down with Cooperstown. Ive never been to one before and I can get more in touch with my wild side. I may swing by the Hard Rock tho to see the Stevie stuff :)

Im so excited!

bellablue21 07-11-2003 01:12 PM

Cooperstown sounds good to me also. As far as getting together on Sunday, I am so excited I am game for anything!

Janine

DrummerDeanna 07-12-2003 09:18 AM

Sweet...so how about meeting at HRC on Sunday....anyone got a time suggestion??

Then at Cooperstown pre-show on Monday....and again...if someone has a time recomendation...:D YEa! I'm excited too!

bellablue21 07-12-2003 09:49 AM

For Monday's dinner at Cooperstown, can we do it somewhat early so those of us that have to go to the pre-show get together for the AHI package can still meet up also??? I believe that the AHI pre-show is at 7:00.

Janine

DrummerDeanna 07-15-2003 02:44 PM

WooHOo!!!!! Less than one week...and I finally know where I'm staying hahaha...AND so...

how about Sunday evening: HRC....around 5 or 6? Is this good? Who's going to that?

Then on Monday pre-show...3or4 at Cooperstown...I just say that early since some of you expressed wanted to meet but needing time to get ready and for the pre-show gala....

So...there ya go....um...anyone can pm or e=mail me or reply here...but yeah...I am excited about the concert and meeting some of you in person....:D Have a great week...

gypsysara 07-15-2003 03:31 PM

For Pre-show, Im fine with any time, my plane lands right after 1 PM so Ill be fine. I may have an issue though with my dreaded-job and may not be able to come. Still trying to resolve it.... *fingers crossed* I really want to go!

bellablue21 07-15-2003 04:48 PM

Both the meeting times on Sunday and Monday are great for me. I am sooooo excited!

Stephanie I hope you can make it. My fingers are crossed for you.

Janine

gypsysara 07-15-2003 10:52 PM

Im going for it at this point! Work can get over it. Heck Ill take it with me and collate stuff on the plane if I have too!

I look forward to meeting you all there! :)

gypsyrhiannon 07-18-2003 02:07 AM

Hi,

I haven’t posted here in a looong time, but I’ve been lurking off and on and saw this thread. My sister and I are flying in for the show and would love to come to the get-together(s). We’re flying in on Saturday and don’t leave until Wed. morning, so since we don’t know anybody in Phoenix we’re looking for stuff to do and cool FM fans to hang out with!

BTW, are there any other Stevie/FM must-sees besides the Stevie display at the HRC? We’ve never been to Phoenix before and probably won’t get a chance to go again for awhile, so we don’t want to miss anything!

Thanks,
Kristin

PS-We’re staying at the Hotel San Carlos too! Looks like there will be a lot of FM fans in the hotel that night!

gypsysara 07-18-2003 12:12 PM

Hi Kristen, it'd be great if you and your sister joined whomever will be there.

What time are we all looking at anyway, did we decide? 4:00? 5:00?

Just a few days Ladies & Gentlemen....

gypsyrhiannon 07-18-2003 12:43 PM

Thanks! We look forward to meeting everybody there!

Oh, and one more question for those who bought the donor packages-We've never been before, but in the past I hear it was a formal event. But with this being an arena concert, we weren't sure if it was quite as formal or if simply nice clothes would suffice for the after-party. We don't want to arrive under-dressed, but we hate to pack more than we need to either.

Thanks in advance!

~Kristin

This is what I'd suggested as to meeting times on both days...and the more the merrier!!!! I can't wait...I leave for Phoenix tomorrow as well...!! I'm getting more and more excited by the minute!

gypsysara 07-18-2003 01:54 PM

Thanks Deanna ~

For those of you who need to leave early is 4:00 too late??

Let us know, so we can figure a "set" time!

PS - how are you all going to dress to our shin-dig? Way casual? Semi-casual? Gold dust women? ;)

bellablue21 07-18-2003 02:17 PM

Hi Kristen, I too am staying at the Hotel San Carlos. However, I don't arrive until Sunday morning. I don't know if for our get together at the HRC on Sunday if you would want to meet up at the hotel and we could share a taxi??

You also asked if there were other Stevie/FM things to see. It would be cool to drive over to the Camelback Mountains and see what Stevie's neighborhood looks like, if that is where she still lives in Phoenix.

Stephanie, I am glad you are going to come...it is so hard to resist a FM concert:)

I can't wait!!

Janine

darklinensuit 07-18-2003 03:34 PM

Can a guy crash this thing?

I'm actually considering this show since I might not be able to do Houston. Kicking myself for passing on the 2 section B floor seats that came up earlier today for $125 each. They lasted about ten minutes while I debated.
I have not yet bought a plane ticket but the price goes up by the hour.
Are all of you staying at the same hotel (Hotel San Carlos), and if so, would someone PM me with the info? Livia can vouch I'm not a stalker, just a guy with a bad sense of humor.:)
