Just heard "Thrown Down" on the radio...

which is a complete surprise considering "Say You Will" is the "current" single...

I was listening to KRXO 107.7 in OKC and they played "Rhiannon" then they did a promo/ad and the next track was "Thrown Down" which the DJ said is "their newest release from the album Say You Will"...Cool!!!

Brian j.

ps-That's the first FM song from SYW that I have heard on the radio!!!

darklinensuit 06-29-2003 01:31 PM

I have yet to hear any SYW song where I am except for hearing Peacekeeper once when the album came out.

OMG!

Could "Thrown Down" really be the next single??? GOSH I hope so!!! Finally someone has come to their senses--- that song is the best one on the album, IMO.

Is there anyway we can find out confirmation that it really is the next single? Man, I would love to see a real video for that-- I know that is wishful thinking though.

tuftsmo 06-29-2003 02:35 PM

Man, I never hear anything from SYW. Anyone in the Boston area know what stations are playing FM stuff? ZLX probably wouldn't play any new stuff.

mo :)

tamaraluvsFM 06-29-2003 03:16 PM

WOOHOO!!! :blob2: Gosh I hope this is true and it is the next single. I looooooooooove this song. Its a feel good song for me.
For some reason it reminds me of Gypsy. :)

I can't wait to hear it...though sadly I hardly hear new FM on my stations.

Thanks for the heads up!

I have YET to hear SYW on the radio and I haven't heard Peacekeeper since the album came out. Do you get Philly stations or are you somewhere else in PA?? I REALLY hope Thrown Down will be their next single. I can see them playing the Wall of Sound version as the radio edit

terrivac 06-30-2003 02:38 PM

That's cool. I have only heard peacekeeper here. Either I am listening to the wrong station here or they are not playing anything else new. I would love to hear Say You Will or Thrown Down here.

Great news! LOVE Thrown Down!!! :D

bootylicous 06-30-2003 03:20 PM

I doubt Thrown Down will be released as a single ever, though that would be fine with me!

ryan8472 06-30-2003 03:39 PM

I hardly even hear Peacekeeper any more, and have never heard Say You Will on the radio either. In fact, most of the rock stations I listen to hardly ever play any Mac at all, anyways. I guess i'll just have to wait and hope to hear Thrown Down (one of my favorites on the album).

Pisces Queen 06-30-2003 03:51 PM

I heard "Say You Will" for the first time on radio today. I had to double check and see if I hit CD instead of FM. Needless to say I was very very happy!!! ;)

LilyRose 06-30-2003 04:02 PM

I have yet to hear "Say You Will" on the radio. "Peacekeeper" I heard so much, I almost got tired of it.

I heard "Miranda" and "What's the World Coming To?" on the radio when the album first came out.

OMG!! They just, right now, played "Bleed to Love Her" off the new album!

 it sounds to me that the album is so good that DJs can't decide what to play ;) so far, we've heard "Peacekeeper", "Say You Will", "Thrown Down", "Miranda", "What's the World Coming To" and "Bleed to Love Her."

But they're forgetting EVERYBODY FINDS OUT

I agree! That should have been the single to follow up "Peacekeeper" or even replaced "Peacekeeper" as the first single. It's such an awesome beat...screams DANCE HIT!!!

Arggh! I hate my local stations! I wish I lived near some of you, where the stations actually play SYW stuff! I finally hear that this local station has some stuff from the Mac coming up next, and I'm dissapointed yet again with GYOW. Where is Thrown Down, or RTTG, EFO or ANYTHING AT ALL from Say You Will? These songs are just as good as GYOW (in my opinion), so why not play them?

Well, Carter Allen apparently has a sydicated show on ZLX on which they play "new songs from classic artists". Can't think of what it's called/when it's on though, but I've definitely heard the add for that show on there so maybe they'll play some SYW stuff on that show? If they're going to play anything at all from SYW, that's seems the most likely time they'd do it. Just a thought. :)

Boston has been a very kind market to the FM stuff.
92.9 played Peacekeeper very, very heavily. As did 92.5 and 98.5.

All 3 stations, plus 104.5 out of Worcester and 106.7 are playing Say You Will.

I am in Harrisburg. They play the Mac on alot of stations around here, including the "pop" stations.

We need one of those smilies that shakes its booty, ;)

this is the closest thing i could find-- :]

EFO rocks my world! great workout song too!

PenguinHead 07-01-2003 01:09 PM

Almost from the time of the album's initial release, KINK radio here in Portland, Oregon has been playing Thrown Down on a regular basis. It certainly sounds like a single!

Janet 07-01-2003 01:19 PM

I hear FM on the radio every single day but never anything new.

I heard Peacekeeper twice ( once 95.7 and once 99.5) but that was it.

Im jealous of all of you who get all the new songs. Id give up hearing EO17 3 times a day for a new song.

Boston IS very kind to the Mac, particularly 92.9 WBOS. I remember they had "Planets of the Universe" in heavy rotation when TISL came out too. If only all radio stations would be so helpful...(sigh)

The very few "adult-contemporary" radio stations that play here in Chile have been playing "Thrown Down" as it was the second single from the album. They did play "Peacekeeper" in the first days, but totally ignored "Say You Will" after it. Weird, huh?

Lo & Behold

Around lunchtime today, my ears were finally treated to the "SYW" single.
What a difference a Lindsey makes! Thing was, (it was so "weird"),
I hit "random" on my car stereo, the song kicked in RIGHT at the beginning
and the station that broadcasted it was NYC's "lite" station:laugh:
ARRGHHH:D
love,
celestenadia
PS - I'm thinking of changing my signature text to
"What a difference a Lindsey makes"

celestenadia 07-01-2003 11:28 PM

I'm an idiot

Sorry, I botched. This post shoulda been included in the "SYW" single topic.
