JazzFest Setlist and videos
Here's tonight's set list:
1) Outside the rain 2) Dreams 3) If Anyone Falls 4) Enchanted 5) Wild Heart 6) SDMHA 7) Rhiannon 8) Gypsy 9) Bella Donna 10) Landslide (dedicated to Taylor Hawkins) 11) Gold Dust Woman 12) Stand Back 13) Free Fallin' 14) Edge of 17 15) New Orleans 16) Rock n Roll The only video so far on Youtube (Outside/Dreams): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hs1QFyS9FBI Hopefully more will be posted soon. The only thing I find interesting with the setlist is that it appears she performed Bella Donna and Wild Heart separately instead of as a medley. I like the long curly hair and it seems she's singing on par with her last live shows. I'm not thrilled with setlist or current sound but I guess I'm happy she's not wearing the sailor coat. It's the little things , lol. :D Oh, and these aviators are slightly less bothersome than other pairs I've seen her wear. :sorry: Also, I wasn't there...I copied the setlist from setlist.fm in case there's any mistakes. |

Loved seeing the videos from today. And love her hair!
Kind of a boring set list but makes sense for the festival circuit, most people there are casual fans and won’t want to sit through new or obscure stuff. The combo of the messy hair/red backdrop/chill festival vibe really reminds me of her at Woodstock 98, which is still one of my favorite shows to put on while doing housework :) Also awesome to see Benmont back with her for these shows. Seems like Stevie doesn’t wanna go anywhere now without an Emotional Support Heartbreaker lol. |
She looks fab, different hairstyle and wow wow…not totally black outfit.
Love the jacket and waistcoat (is it ?) But I do wish she wouldn’t shout it makes her voice so harsh. Having said that… She sounded good, she needs a different voice coach and she’d sound great. Can’t wait to see other vids. |
All of the high notes now gone from Dreams (not the really high falsetto-ish notes she hasn't sang in decades). It really flattens the melody and effect overall! IMO she should really considering transposing some songs.

Yasgur Farm was amazing. Whole Lotta Trouble, Twisted, Garbo, Sleeping Angel. I wonder why she doesn't just throw Rooms on Fire, Talk To Me, I Can't Wait, Whole Lotta Trouble, and Blue Denim in this festival set and make it a true classics set. |
She was in the hospital with double pneumonia after the rock and roll half of fame induction a few years back. I wonder if what we’re seeing on Dreams is a result of those health issues or she’s rusty from not being on the road for three years.

16 songs....I'm impressed and I am not being sarcastic. I would have guessed 13 at the most. If she really performed Wild Heart and Bella Donna separately, that's really cool.
|
My thoughts:
- She’s in her 70s, so however she sounds on Dreams is probably due to that rather than pneumonia from years ago. - Rooms on Fire, I Can’t Wait, Talk to Me, etc would have been preferable to Gypsy, Gold Dust Woman, and Rock and Roll. - I doubt Wild Heart and Bella Donna were performed separately; more likely she didn’t do her big talk about each of them like she did on her last solo tour, and they probably just blended into each other like Outside the Rain and Dreams. - I would say this set list likely won’t change for her next few gigs this year, and if they do, it’ll probably be a slightly shorter set. |

I don't get the Wild Heart and Bella Donna sampling. Play the whole songs. |

Wild Heart deserves to be played in full. That whole song is one of her masterpieces. Thank you so much for sharing the videos from last night. I noticed there weren't any strobe lights or anything during Edge. Very different stage setup than when she played the big festival in Hyde Park London! |

With Covid, she probably didn’t get to practice as much before this gig, so the band just played Wild Heart and Bella Donna the way they had during 24 Karat. Both songs are fairly long anyway, so even only playing half of each song was still pretty long. Considering her age, I have lower expectations for seeing her live. Same thing with Christine and Lindsey. I understand their songs aren’t going to sound as good live. They’re in their 70s. It’s amazing none of them are using walkers. Phil Collins did the Genesis tour sitting on a stool and not playing drums. Unfortunate but it sounds like it was an entertaining show and he probably felt great being on stage again. I say go see all these folks live in concert while you have the opportunity and they’re able to perform. |
As much as I hate to say this… Stevie should retire her live shows. This chapter has closed as it also has with Fleetwood Mac live.

What a lovely analogy. Thank you for sharing that.

She did a great job here. Glad to see her back out on the road — for a million reasons.

I'm glad the fingerless gloves are gone. And I love the little boots.

As you stated, they don't feel Stevie or FM should continue their live shows; that feeling is not a "problem." People are free to critique performances. I love Stevie and I watched the Jazz Fest performance of Gypsy, and it sounded very different from her 2016 performances. The "you see your Gypsy"s have dropped in range. If I paid $500-$1,500 to see her sing like that, I'd be disappointed. Mick Jagger and Keith sound amazing. |

This is a good Rhiannon from New Orleans and sounds like Stevie in 2003!

I think she sounds rough and I probably won’t be seeing her, but if people are still willing to pay to see her, who am I to argue? I could have lived without Stevie’s singing for well over 30 years. |

Not good. :( I prefer to not contaminate my memories of why she used to be so amazing with this sadness. |

I think Stevie sounded pretty good. Unlike many she does not use pre-recorded vocal tracks. Her voice is not like it used to be but its fine.
Now you want to hear bad singing? When I saw this last year, I thought it was a parody. Has anyone heard Vince Neil sing lately? He is so fat busting through his shirt and the words he sings sound like a completely different set of words. You have to see this to believe it. Just imagine if Vince was a woman who put on this weight and sounded so bad what people would say? This is ridiculous and everyone needs to see this  And no doubt the back up vocals are pre-recorded. In all fairness, Vince has a tremendous amount of energy for being in his third trimester. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTJ8OWcFmCk |
