AMAZING!

I am happy with a solo album, particularly if that's what makes her feel happy too ;)

WOW!!! What a way to start my day. I had a feeling something was up & not only just because of those 2 shows in London. She's had a bunch of other public appearances & interviews this year.

By the way, does anyone know how to record this show and hopefully that Johnny Walker show when it airs? I'm in the US. I'd like to download these shows to add to my collection.

I'm from the Philippines, and can access the shows through the Radio 2 website. Maybe you can too.

I had a feeling something was up too.

Absolutely ridiculous. The Mac has an almost complete album in the can she could bring that 70's sound to and make a final Fleetwood Mac album. So disappointing the band can't work together. I'm sure her music will be excellent, and I will just mix her songs into Fleetwood Mac songs on a playlist. I so wanted to hear the three of them harmonizing again. Not happy.

I blame certain members for that. Actually, two of them.

I'm just happy she's doing music again. :D

Generally I'm not that much of a fan of Chris's solo work. I like it ok but I never tend to listen to it. However, this means she's really artistically engaged and excited about something in her own life, and that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Good for you, Christine. I hope the album rocks.

applebucked 10-01-2013 05:50 AM

I enjoyed all three of her albums, so this makes me all so giddy.

ejb1969 10-01-2013 05:57 AM

I was so happy to see this! Great way to wake up!:]

I know I can listen to the show, but can you download it? I'd like to download it & burn it to CD.

I use Internet Download Manager to download from streaming sites. There's a free trial for it, but you can get it through *cough* other means *cough*
Usually I put the files on my external drive.

If she's not recording with Fleetwood Mac because of the ridiculous touring debacle, I'm flying myself to their next concert and protesting in the street.

That said, this makes me so unbelievably happy. You go, Christine.

She's been writing music since at least June of this year. Maybe she isn't recording with them because of the touring thing (I think she wants to work in her own terms, and is certainly in the position to do so), but regardless of with FM or solo, I'll take Christine any way I can get. And if by 70s sound, meaning her work from Future Games to Tusk, then YES PLEASE.

i don't know what the touring debacle you are talking about, but i definitely think that whoever goes to Mick's m&gs next should ask / tell him to push merging Christine's work with the album the boys have been working on.

we could have that all melodic soft pop Mac album out in no time and move on, if they'd just be reasonable!

The reported reason that Chris didn't record with them on SYW was because she didn't want to tour. They were worried she would have a hit song ad then not be with them to play it live. The solution: don't release her songs as singles if you are that worried about it.

If Chris would record with FM (and they would let her), Stevie would be there quicker than you could say "Dave Stewart" and we could have one last album with all 5 of them.

applebucked 10-01-2013 07:56 AM

In an alternate universe, it's a Christine album that gets hijacked.

yup!

i couldn't care less whether Stevie comes to the table or not, with Christine on board they could still have Mac album.

of course, half of the people would have the same complaints as the EP (where are Stevie's songs?). but as long as there are 3-part harmonies, and they are putting stuff out, who cares?

Obviously Stevie would elbow and push people to get there, but even without her, the album would surely be kickass.

If not, I'd be more than happy with Christine solo. (and who knows? maybe while those four are touring, next thing we know the solo album is done)

Yes, Mick had been saying she was writing music and then when people asked him at Meet and Greets he clarified that she was doing it for herself solo and not for FM -- as I wanted to hope.

At this point, I just want any new Chris music.

I'm going to the Premier of Christine's new film, "The Making of Tango in the Buck" in London!

Memorable quotes:

Christine: "I swear, I wouldn't bloody touch him with a ten foot pole."

Lindsey: "Don't you think you should--"
Christine: "This hairclip is not coming off."

*Lindsey attempts to grab a Chocolate Hobnob*
Christine: "What did I tell you about the chocolate hobnobs?"

Lindsey: She started it.

jbrownsjr 10-01-2013 11:29 AM

I swear that's the same hairclip from, "As Long As You Follow"!

I can't see the detail on the video clearly to tell if it's the exact same one. But if so, then it's a relic! I wonder if she still has the "Nobody's Perfekt" shirt...I want one.

wait wait what are you implying?

you know i'm a serious, happily married woman..... i guess a bit of buck porn to spice it up maybe? ;)

applebucked 10-01-2013 12:49 PM

I mainly dig the chicks, but I wouldn't mind some Buck porn from time to time.

Also, ever since I stepped in here, the Lindsey/Chris talk has increased exponentially.

louielouie2000 10-01-2013 01:08 PM

I should be REALLY excited about this; I totally immersed myself in In The Meantime. But I guess it just cements to me that Fleetwood Mac is dead, and it's just heartbreaking for me. :distress: Oh well, at least we will get that elusive new music from Chris!

There is still a chance Stevie, Mick, JOhn.. and even Lindsey might guest...

and... roll with with henry into a FM album.. What A Fine Mess...

Ok I'll stop with the puns now...

nicepace 10-01-2013 03:44 PM

Wow! I sure hope it's true and not just an internet rumour. In my opinion, it doesn't matter if she's recording solo or with the Mac, just as long as she's recording.

I realize some of the folks on this board wish she'd record with the Mac and not a solo album, but realistically, a year ago would any of us have thought we'd ever get any new music from her? We all thought we'd never hear another note from Christine.

I think this is fantastic (if true) -- and totally thrilling!

SteveMacD 10-01-2013 03:47 PM

I hope she finally records "Baby It's Alright Now."

Like the aborted version of Gift Of Screws, there's nothing saying that Mick, John & Lindsey wouldn't guest on a track or two. (Although, I'd be really surprised if Stevie made an appearance)

Heck, if she does anything close to blues, we might even get a Peter Green sighting, since Peter seems to be doing a couple of sessions these days.
