Yes, and based on that premise, my list:

Crystal
Oh Daddy
The Ledge
Only Over You
When I See You Again - Caroline (sorry both are equal least fave)

The whole Tango album is, BY FAR, my least favorite of the five.

The other four are honestly equal in my heart. Mirage holds such a special place for me, that I'll never give it the red headed buck toothed second cousin status that some of y'all give it. If I had to pick one to spend the rest of my life on a desert island..... damn..... idk. I really don't.

Ok, I'll replace Isn't It Midnight with When I See You again.

I tend to like songs that others loathe. I LOVE Empire State until the day I die, and even Family Man(the guitar solo saves the song).

I love both of those songs, too!

But I love all of Tango, so you can shame me if you like. Christine truly makes that album a treat.

But as a whole, it's just so sterile and plastic. If I wanted to listen to computer music, I'd be watching Pornhub.

It's crisp, succinct, it jams, it collaborates the two talented writers, it feels like the album cover, it shows goat twirl in fast forward and reverse!!

Landslide
Never Going Back Again
Save Me A Place
Oh Diane
When I See You Again

I’ve always considered Tango my favorite album, but I just really love about half of the songs and skip the other half. Mirage was hardest to choose a least favorite song from - it’s never been one of my favorite albums, but it doesn’t have any tracks that I always skip.

I like your picks. I could skip all those songs. Studio Landslide is my favorite. Hearing it live to me is now like nails on a chalkboard.

I'm So Afraid (Dont flame me. I LOVE it live but not crazy about the album version)
I Dont Want To Know (on the perfect album, its really hard to pick one. I like this but not as much as others)
The Ledge
Oh Diane
Caroline

When I became a fan in 1993 Tango already sounded hysterically dated and oh so plastic, as you stated. However, sometime in the past 10 years or so I feel like Tango has come full circle. Perhaps because I listen to a lot of indie pop and rock music, which over the past decade has heavily referenced 80s synth. Songs like Caroline which used to sound so cringey to me now come off as chic and sophisticated.

Anyway, here’s my list of least favs by album:

Crystal (lovely song, but sounds ridiculous with Lindsey singing it)
Don’t Stop (it’s just hokey, particularly the production)
What Makes You Think You’re the One (that intro is just obnoxious, especially following the dreamy Sara)
Oh Diane (just no…)
Family Man (okay, the production on this one is still awful)

Interesting how every song I chose had Lindsey as a singer. While I arguably respect Lindsey the most musically, his constant boundary pushing and experimentation didn’t always result in timeless or even good music.

Dont apologize to Sister Honey. He listed a bunch of Chris songs. Chris IS Fleetwood Mac. That top hat and scarf routine of his is getting old.

Look bitch, it's your time of year. Get on that broom and ride into the sunset.

Chris IS FM. However, I follow no one with blinders. What if she also had my favorite song from every album? What does that mean? That I can scrutinize albums on a track by track basis, without spinning around dressed in chiffon like a drunken sailor, blindly praising a turd like it just crawled out of $tevie's butthole? My criticisms are honest.

Now get your broom tuned up, honey...

I agree with you that Tango is the least fave but you need to be placed in an isolation chamber and be forced fed Warm Ways. How can you say C McVie is your fave Macster and hate that song? Warm Ways is the very best song on that entire White album!

vivfox 10-25-2022 09:29 PM

There's no bad song on the White album
Songbird
Never Make Me Cry
Only Over Ewe
You & I part 2 (part one sucks too). But then Louie reminded me how much I have always loathed Oh Diane.

It just sounds SO DATED. Even back then. The tom tom drum fills are what ruin it for me.

Sleep.... ba da da da dum, easy by my side. That's CHEESE BALL production.

I didn't like SB at first, it took me a while to like it. In fact, besides Gypsy, I was king of dissapointed with her 2 other songs. I felt they didn't have the power, or quality, of GDW or Landslide for example. At the end I like all her Mirage songs, and are far superior than WISYA or The Second Time. But I still felt she could have done better to accompany Gypsy.

I always thought she gave us a great variety. Many die hard Stevie fans don't like SB. Not sure why.

Here's a rehearsal live version.

Sounds like she and Christine are trying to make this presentable.

Straight Back is amazing. I just dont get how anyone could not like this song. Its very Stevie in writing style. It does share something with Gypsy. It does not have a traditional pop song chorus. Its too deep for that. She also explodes vocally like Gypsy. Straight Back is one of my favorite Nicks Mac songs. The lyrics are so cool, Chris is backing which is rare and the keyboard and guitar playing around each other. Its Ray Lindsey on acoustic guitar too.
People hate Sugar Daddy and Straight Back? Where is my block button!

Fingers find the ivory keys and a song
begins to begin
like a wolf on the run

And you will find something in wind that you lost
The dream was never over, no
The dream was only lost

She remembers how good it can be
He remembers a melody
In the shadow of my shadow.......in a gleam

Come on now, it does not get any better than that

Ah, okay. I will dutifully turn in a revised homework assignment :)

From 1975-1988, my least favorite songs from each album:

Monday Morning
Never Going Back Again (though I still love it)
I know I'm Not Wrong
Oh, Diane
Welcome to the Room, Sara

Well, none of her songs are the worst on any album—except Skies the Limit, which repulses me.

Interesting list!

Blue Letter — I almost listed that.
Sisters of the Moon — never liked the album version, which sounds unfulfilled in a way the 79 and 82 concert versions don’t.

Live in Store? What?! Really? I totes dig that ditty.

I wanted to list “What Makes You Think You’re the One” for the same reason, but I have to remember how surprised I was to hear something so garagey.

The verses are cringe, but it’s got a great chorus. I never loved how the band played it. Seems really tired with a gallumphing tempo. Imagine it with a tempo like “Believe Me.”
