Paper Doll's always been one of my favourites. I've never understood why I seem to be in a small minority of people who enjoy it. But I'm with you for Silver Girl. Oh those lyrics. What were you thinking, Stevie...

Man, I only voted for one. I should have read the post first.

I voted for Silver Girl, but my second vote probably would have gone to Paper Doll.

Agreed on everything here. I always loved Paper Doll from when I first got the 2CD version of the Chain box set. Before I even thought to care about which version of the band recorded it. And Silver Girl could potentially be much less horrible if Stevie threw a new set of lyrics on it.

Why are people voting for Angel?!? One of my favorite songs on Tusk!

Angel and Crystal are getting votes, but When I See You Again isn't?

World's gone nucking futs on me.

I was thinking the same thing.

I personally really like When I See You Again, but I realize that's not necessarily the most popular opinion.

Angel, I can even understand... However, CRYSTAL? :distress:

The Second Time and Silver Girl. Whilst Silver Girl isn't that bad, The Second Time is just pure garbage. I really love most of the other songs in this poll, though. Even When I See You Again.

Paper Doll

and...

The Second Time

I agree with you on both these things! I think Paper Doll is just a fun little song.

And I think Angel is wretchedly dull and overblown. It's actually the only song I could vote off on this poll. :)

I don't hate any of these songs (and I love "Straight Back").
This was tough...
I don't like the chorus to "Angel" (some of the dumbest lyrics she ever wrote).
I'm not nuts about the sound of "Paper Doll", except for the drums & bass, but I find the lyrics to be really good.
I don't mind "Silver Girl" at all. I always figured she took the title from "Bridge Over Troubled Water" & just ran with the old-time rock chick theme. Her vocals on that album are hit-or-miss, but she sounds fine throughout this song. These days that's worth something.
IDWTK lacks the lyrical depth of Stevie's great masterpieces, but for what it is, it's really good.
"Crystal" is a classic that belongs in the live set (though I still say she should have done the lead vocal in '75 - we already had Lindsey's on BN anyway).

So my votes went to "The Second Time", which needed a lighter, more It's-Only-Love-type vocal to fit the simple acoustic sound, and WISYA, which is not as awful as most people think, but is still not as good as the other choices here.

Crystal...because it's not her vocal
The Second Time...love the song, but the weak link on this list.

I may be wrong but aren't they talking about the 1998 version?
