We all want a new album, but we aren't owed one, no matter who says it is (or isn't) happening.

People, their biggest album is called Rumours - and you're taking their media crafted/twisted words as truth?!?!

And if you don't want to see an oldies tour, then don't go. I'll be there - but in the cheapest seat while you hold out for that new album and bash the member you hate (secretly love).

I think the fact that Stevie doesn't appear to be doing anything solo or with the Mac is quite telling. If Stevie had plans to rush back into her solo career, I think we would have heard about something by now. Maybe the whole group is just taking a year off and Stevie is taking the time to not only relax, but to write some NEW songs to bring into the studio this fall or early next year? None of us actually expect them to write the songs together and perhaps Stevie wants to leave some stuff in her vault for another 24KG.

This is a pretty valid point. Stevie easily could have launched a 24 Karat Gold solo tour this summer, but she didn't. The total lack of activity & silence from the band has to mean something.

But I don't think Stevie needs a year off to write songs. She wrote the new SYW songs over the Christmas holidays. I know that was more than 10 years ago and she's older, but still ....

Not only can she write in less time than that, but she talked of writing after her mother died and the drama of the tour itself, Christine's return, etc. must have all given her something to write about in these last years. I would imagine she has some draft songs that she could just polish and finalize, rather than just starting from scratch. I don't think writing is the reason for her silence.

That's looking at the glass half empty. I see this as the glass half full. She knows what a heavy lift is going to be coming up working on the Mac album for half a year and a huge final tour. If she WAS doing solo work, she would not be in the mental and physical shape to continue with the Mac. She is not committing to her solo work. That is a sign she is appreciating this rest before a huge 2 years coming up. If she was doing solo records and tours....that would not be a good sign for the Mac.
I do see the rest as telling.......the Mac album is going to start. YAY!

Totally agree with this. No solo concert tour and no news of another solo album must mean Stevie's involved with the next Fleetwood Mac album. It's unusually quiet. Around here they love to blame Stevie for everything.

Something is brewing. I can feel it. No news is good news as they say and I hope in this case it proves to be right.

The fact that Stevie never went on a solo tour this year is some indication that perhaps Stevie has focused her sights more on Fleetwood Mac these days, at least for now. If I remember correctly Waddy was saying he would be going on the road with her earlier this year?
