Umm, I think the Time cover is quite good

James89 02-11-2016 12:41 PM

I really liked what they did with Say You Will. I'd love to see a great album cover seeing as it'll likely be their last studio album.

GavinBrown 02-11-2016 01:01 PM

I'm still obsessed with The Dance cover...

It wasn't as bad. But I didn't love it.

I loved

Mirage, Rumours, Tango, FM, SYW, Mystery, Heroes, Bare, Penguin, Kiln, Then Play on, Mr Wonderful, Dance, Live, Tusk

Don't like:
BTM, Time, Future Games

Ahhh yes.. agreed. forgot about that one...

I mean they put so much effort into it.. lol

FuzzyPlum 02-11-2016 02:14 PM

I'm sure there are plenty of threads for this somewhere...

1st Rumours
2nd Fleetwood Mac
3rd Tango
4th PG's FM
5th Kiln House
6th Mirage
7th MTM
8th Then Play On
9th The Pious Bird of Good Omen
10th The Dance
11th Say You Will
12th Tusk
13th The Very Best of
14th Live
15th Time

...then the rest
(and on another day something completely different).

jbrownsjr 02-11-2016 02:47 PM

When I was a youngster, Fuzzy... The KMart had all the Mirage Albums hung all over the place in the music dept...

And I remember thinking... they look so mysterious...

That clothing designer's instagram has me prematurely hyped up!

There's something cooking there - especially with the second red dress labeled "Christine".

Unless they have some special event soon - is it possible she truly is designing the outfits for the new cover??

http://oi66.tinypic.com/2cymxw6.jpg

Lindsay was also wearing custom pieces by her on the tour over the summer.

http://oi67.tinypic.com/21biq88.jpg

Clearly I don't want to get hopes up, but it is VERY suspect.

Isn't one of the new songs titled "Red Sun"?? ;)

Anything then those black pants is fine with me.Unless she does a Johnny Cash tribute. She would be fine with the all black attire.

DauphineMarie 02-11-2016 09:28 PM

^^^ I thought the same thing on the Stevie version of that thread.

I had an extremely vivid thought the other night about the new album cover... A plain white background, with the women in the band members wearing red, very much like the FM album cover, but extremely simple yet elegant poses from the five of them. I see Stevie leaning her head on mick's shoulder standing behind him, and just all five of them in some formation on this plain white background.. Nothing crazy, just really elegant. Simple.

When I saw the picture of the red dress with "Christine" written on it...

Who knows?

That's exciting to think about and would explain why the dress looks more theatrical than what Christine would wear, if it is part of an album cover theme. Michele

Feather Blade 02-12-2016 08:35 AM

Since it is so hard to keep a secret in this day and age, doesn't it seem like if they were far enough along on an album to be prepping for the cover art, that we would have heard something more concrete about it? Has anyone seen anything on social media about what they are all up to these days? I wondered if anyone had been spotted out and about. I agree it would be great if they came up with something really special for what is likely their last big effort.

Wdm6789 02-12-2016 10:04 AM

That dress is hideous.

Well that "Christine" dress would not work on stage because too much of it would drag on the floor and would capture all the dirt and dust and John and Lindsey's guitar cables. I bet it is either for the Grammy's or Iovine's wedding.

AncientQueen 02-12-2016 02:09 PM

^^Of course I don't know Christine at all, but from what I do know about her, she wouldn't wear this dress to a wedding (or elsewhere). That is not her style at all. Something so tight and attention grabbing - not Christine McVie.

Richard B 02-12-2016 04:06 PM

I don't know. I actually can't recall seeing Christine McVie in a dress for a long time, at least the last couple years. But from what I've seen on and off stage, she does wear tight, fitted clothes all the time. She's super slim and is very put together. If she wears a dress, I could see it being form fitting.

pauls90 02-12-2016 04:08 PM

I don't know. I honestly don't think they would wear matching colored dresses to any event - whether it be the Grammys or a wedding.

It seems way too coincidental that she would be teasing something involving Stevie and then post another photo of the same color material with a mannequin labeled Christine just a few days later.

But. I digress. It's ALL about the surprise announcement/release these days anyway so I doubt we'll even find out what's going on until right when it's happening.

Apparently whoever edited and airbrushed this picture does not have very good attention to detail. They smoothed out her upper chest and neck and a little bit in her face, but they forgot to do her hands.

Maybe the last month of silence means they have been working secretly on this album. Of we didn't have save Stewarts involvement we wouldve never knew about 24 karot being recorded. None of the 5 Are active in so is I media at all. Its very possible thst are recording under the radar.

I mean the last news was straight from stevie saying yes we will do an album.

I was also thinking that she's probably been getting fixed up with great dermatologists and such now that she's back in the public eye (and with Stevie knowing all the best people to go to) but she needs to get them working on her hands. You can get age spots if not eliminated then definitely reduced with laser and other types of treatments. Why get a facelift (and veneers/caps) and then your hands give you away?

I don't think she would be caught dead wearing it on stage. I think she might wear it on an album cover. I mean when they did that "Justice is blind" photo when she and Lindsey were sword fighting, she was only dressed like that for the album cover. I think she might dress in that red thing for an album cover, where she was not exactly Christine, but Christine playing a part.

Everything you said makes sense. My statement was typed and THEN I was reading everyone else's opinions in another thread and thought to myself, "I'm late to the game."

aleuzzi 02-13-2016 12:16 PM

The dress looks like something Stevie would wear--or would have worn back in the day. I can't imagine it for Christine and hope it isn't. I like Christine just as she is. The chick who wears pants and looks great doing so.

On another (sour) note:I check the internet everyday for some sort of news on the progress of the new album. As usual, the waiting is frustrating.

Well, Christine looks good in dresses too, just not that kind. And she usually wears dresses that show her legs.

Frankly, that dress looks like something some kind of high school kid would wear.
Not to the prom, but to some other kind of fancy teen event.

I disagree, in 1977 at the AMA and at the grammys Christine wore two different blue fitted dresses and she looked gorgeous.
When did she wear short dresses? I really want to see her, I only saw photo of her wearing shorts (and looking extremely good in it).

Well, they were short skirts, rather than dresses. Even when she's worn long skirts in the past you can still see her legs most of the time.

Naturally. Who can forget the Mirage stage outfit, for example? But I'm really taken with her look since the mid-90s onward: pantsuits. She pulls the look off wonderfully.

secondhandchain 02-26-2016 12:28 AM

If this album is going to happen we should be hearing news about them going back into the studio soon. March? But not holding my breath. Probably will do another cash grab tour.

mitzo 02-26-2016 06:45 AM

I am feeling there will be no new album. We have very few reasons to hope, it seems.

Well they won't be going into the studio in March. Mick's travelling down under at the end of March with his MF's Blues Band. I think I recall somebody on here saying (according to Mick) they would be in the studio in May. This still ties in with an interview he gave where he said they'd be going into the studio in the Spring

AliceLover 02-26-2016 10:28 PM

I think they might. Stevie was all gung-ho about a 24KG tour. I feel like her dates should have already been released. All the summer acts have been announced. There's no reason to delay a solo tour unless she's planning on recording.

aleuzzi 02-27-2016 01:32 PM

They owe it to their fans to release an official press release stating the timeline. Some might say they owe us nothing, but I disagree. And given their ages, this new album, if it ever happens, needs to come out soon.

If they owe us anything, why would a press release be it? If anything, they've said an album would eventually come from this reunion, so that's what they would owe us. They don't owe us a progress report.

Macfanforever 02-27-2016 04:12 PM

Sorry to be blunt guys.Who said they "FM" owe us an album. Is there a law that states this. Its a free world. They can do anything they want.Finish it or ditch it. Reading these ongoing threads dwelling about this topic about when this new album is going to be complete is like us fans are holding them at gunpoint and demanding a album. Take a chill pill and relax. This is FM.We should know by now they move sloooooow as the slow boat to China doing these projects.Yes I do want a new album very much but I'm not going to hold it against them if they dont finish it.

jbrownsjr 02-27-2016 05:50 PM

I owe them a lot a gratitude for some great music. Plus, their huge egos have caused quite the discussions. ..............then playon............

Wdm6789 02-27-2016 06:20 PM

Hey, we got the opportunity to see Christine McVie back with the band. I'm totally content without a new album.
