One of these days, I'm going to write a reappraisal of Chris McVie & prove she was more than a churner-outer of "good pop songs" or "straight-out pop numbers." I hear that all the time & it really reduces her particular, effective & yes even sometimes slightly weird talent. "Pop" is used with a slight air of condescension when applied to Chris.

and this then was the first time I ever saw Fleetwood Mac live ..The moments I remember best where the entire performance of SOTM and the Charleston dance that Nicks did at the end of Angel and Nicks leaping off of the ground into the arms of a large man ,presumably a roadie when she left the stage and Christine's Songbird..I was in high school and this was the 4th major concert I had ever been to and the last one of the 1970s ..really the end of an era .It may sound cheesy but when I think of a time when the innocence ended it was not long after this ..Reagan ..AIDS .unbridled greed and so much more were just around the corner .When the 1970s ended that last gasp of what the counterculture meant to me .. .of free love and actually believing that we could change the world and that there would be peace on earth kind of ended for me as well ..this show will always be burned in my memory ..seeing that era of the band at their creative peak in that place and time is very bittersweet and for that reason I will always love them .

Thank you for sharing this wonderful memory with all of us. I love stories like this. I can, through you, envision concerts I'd never been to. I can totally picure Stevie jumping into Bubba's arms the way you described it.

After this show Stevie took Jim Ladd back to her home and gave one of the best interviews ever. Get a copy of this if you can. It's called INNERVIEW. Even though it was a great interview, looking back I'm suprised it was all
about Stevie and not about the rest of Fleetwood Mac. However this allowed
Stevie, amongst other subjects as well, plenty of time to discuss the meanings of her songs on the Tusk Album.

I believe the San Francisco Cow Palace shows are coming up in the next couple days if memory serves me right. I know I heard a hilarious story where the band put a bunch of chickens in John Courage's room and then they shoved them all into and elevator afterwards and sent them to first sloor. I cant imagine the looks on the faces of whoever tried to get on that elevator when it opened on First floor!:lol::lol:

It's curious to note that none of Christine's new Tusk songs are included in the initial tour set. At what point did they start performing Over and Over and Think About Me? (Even more surprising is that Brown Eyes turned up in the Mirage tour set. ) Never Forget could have been a nice song done live.
