Her father, Pete Antell, was a chart-ranking Pop music artist that performed on national tours with Fleetwood Mac, The Doobie Brothers and others. Pete was a part of the Brill Building community and worked with greats such as Ike and Tina Turner, The Four Seasons, Tony Orlando, Jackie Wilson, Count Basie and Cab Calloway. In the May 29/June 5 issue of Entertainment Weekly, there is an interview with Shania Twain where she says: "I grew up listening to Fleetwood Mac, and they're still out there and still touring. I love their new stuff, but I'll always want to hear the old stuff." I wonder what new stuff she is referring to.

In fact, three of the albums are soundtracks to movies. Some of the top selling albums may surprise you. To gain entry into this album list, the album must have sold at minimum 20 million copies worldwide.



10. Rumours – Fleetwood Mac – 40 million copies sold

Fleetwood Mac's album Rumours is their eleventh studio album. Four of the album's songs were released as singles. Relationship breakups between Fleetwood Mac members prior to the studio sessions reflected the lyrics on the album.


9. Saturday Night Fever – Bee Gees, various artists – 40 million copies sold

Saturday Night Fever is the soundtrack to the popular movie of the same name. The album helped revive disco in the U.S. The Bee Gees wrote and recorded five original songs for the film: "Stayin' Alive," "Night Fever," "How Deep Is Your Love," "More Than A Woman" and "If I Can't Have You" as part of a regular album before they knew they were creating a soundtrack for the film.


8. Millennium – Backstreet Boys – 40 million copies sold

The Backstreet Boys pop music album Millennium broke numerous records. Millennium was nominated for five Grammy Awards and contained four Top 40 singles. The album entered the Billboard 200 at number one, remaining there for 10 non-consecutive weeks.

Bat Out Of Hell: #343 on the RS all time greatest albums list- that's criminally low!

Also this is from 2012, before the latest massive Mac tours, and I recall that since then Rumours climbed to the 8th position on the best selling albums list.

It seemed like the right time to capture the song in the studio. Recording it this way, with the acoustic instrumentation, really casts it in a cool light.
