I liked watching them perform on that show because they were cold, & there's something about cold weather -- have you ever noticed? -- that makes the performer look sort of more alert & vibrant, I guess because your body is burning more calories trying to stay warm.

As opposed to extreme heat, which makes people look sluggish & lethargic & a little sick.

and, respectfully, you'd be wrong. The radio stations here panned them the morning after and I heard people who are not fans laughing about how bad it was. So, the nonfans saw it and were talking about it. Interestingly, for any of those millions who watch that very popular show who would even think about maybe buying that record, that ruined it. But, I agree with you that SYW was never going to sell millions of records outside of some fluke.

Say You Will was very heavily promoted by Warners. Songs were showcased on three television shows (That 70s Show, Third Watch, and Friends), the band was named the Artist of the Month by AOL (owned by Warners, surprise surprise), they appeared on the top-rated morning show and the top-rated late night show, there were commercials for the album which gave you a number to order it, the first single got rather decent airplay, etc.

And after all of that, the album only sold 800,000. It only proves that you're 100% correct in your assertion that not a whole helluva lot of people were interested in it. They can promote it until everyone in the Western Hemisphere knows that it's in stores, but if they don't want it, they're aren't going to buy it. And that's exactly what happened.

BTW - I get that animal rights people are nuts, but if anyone ever through red paint on me, I would try and resist the urge to respond in kind to their battery by beating the living hell out of them and instead I would have them thrown in jail, press full charges, make sure they stayed there a long long time, and then sue the living crap out of them :wavey:

No, destroying anyone's property is just wrong regardless of how you or anyone else feels about it. AND - the law fully supports me on this. If someone does not want fur in clothing, they need to get some to rule it illegal or get it made against the law vis the legislature. But, taking the law into one's own hands is just stupid and anytime anyone does that, they better be prepared to pay for the consequences of it. I mean what if that paint blinded someone or caused them to suffocate because they were allegeric to it? What if it caused them to silp and fall and injure or kill themselves? Would that be worth it? Would that achieve any goal other than saisfying personal rage? No, it would not. Thus, throwing things at people is assinine.
