Well, acting is a visual thing  Part of his charm to millions is his face - you make that sound like a bad thing. I suggest that is no different that any other actor, even the ones who dress down in parts a la Kidmann's nose. Even then, it is all about appearance.

Boy, you sure could make actual **** seem lovely if you tried hard enough.

The fact that you can't simply call him out for being a mediocre actor at best is shocking to me. Instead, you have to pussyfoot around it. If he didn't have that face that so many women find appealing, he'd have nothing of a career to speak of. All 5'7" of him would be as obscure as Anna Nicole's intelligence.

He's not that bad. He's pretty good most of the time. He picks good roles for his range, and he does a good job on them, sometimes less than others, sometimes more than others.

So Shut up! Just shut up! Jeezus!!! Lay off Tom! You're making me sick with your hateful Bile!!!!

How do you really feel about it Amber?

 :sorry:

He's the kind of actor tailor-made for roles like Janitor #3 in Die Hard 2.

I think I said earlier in this thread or maybe it was the other that he is not that great of an actor who has relied mostly on his looks and charm to get where he is. But, I nonetheless reiterate it here :wavey:

Not to me he doesn't, but I can't deny that he does to millions of people out there for some strange, strange reason.

You're just lying. You're forgetting good performances. Your obvious bias in the face of evidence to the contrary (ie, roles where he did a good job) is sickening. *Pbbbbbbbblllttttttttttttt!*

I've avoided this thread 'til now because, well, I really don't like Tom Cruise and any discussion of him, good or bad, isn't really very appealing for me.

He's a mediocre actor and not particularly attractive, if you ask me. And his smile? Bugs the sh*t out of me. He's like a damned car salesman or something.

The only movies I've liked that he starred in?

Rainman
Risky Business
Far and Away (which is quite surprising, considering the fact that I don't like Nicole Kidman either)
The Last Samarai (he's almost likeable when he doesn't flash that f*cking smile)

Well, if box office receipts are any indication
