the audio cassette has the same mix as the LP. For some reason the audio cassette has a better, but yet different sound to my ears.

So I am sure it is the same mix.

I am talking about the Tusk album overall sounds much better to me on audio cassette than it currently does on compact disc.

The mix of "I Know I'm Not Wrong" is of a much better sound quality on the cassette than the cd...As is the mix for "Straight Back".

I should locate an "audiophile" who can burn a pristine version of the vinyl version of the Tusk album straight to cd for comparison to the current cd version (This has been successfully done with the Beatles' MFSL LP releases) like what has been done with the MFSL version of "Rumours"

MFSL is Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs, Who have, In the past, released GREAT "premium" vinyl versions of classic albums by the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac.

I'm going to try to dig up my Tusk tape now, if I still have it. I do recall that from song to song, the sound quality on the tape was different. That is the main reason I was very happy when I got the CD, though I didn't like the shorter Sara.

only have rumours, tango, greatest hits and behind the maskl on tape.
But atleast i have the rumours album era (and most before aswell) on vinyl too ;)

All in all, it'll be cool to have these, but I think the band could have done a LOT better with their choices. Then again, maybe Stevie's waiting to release more of her demos/outtakes for later solo albums/FM records.

BTW, Joe, I wouldn't fret too much about us Yanks getting a new set list. They may add one or two more songs and move one or two songs around. It's not like Fleetwood Mac would ever be SPONTANEOUS or anything!

Actually, it's not as weird a title as a lot of folks think it is. When Paul McCartney was first writing the beautiful "Yesterday," he was calling the tune, "Scrambled Eggs!"

Sometimes the working title of a song has nothing to do with the lyrics at all....it's just a way to remember the tune. I have so many demos of my own that have no names...it's kind of hard to remember a piece of music as "track 12" or "demo #43". I have a piece of music that sounds country but there's a punkish quality to it also. Hence, i named it "country punk." Now, the tune comes to me instantly when i think of that name.

Anyway.....maybe Paul wrote "yesterday" over breakfast....or, maybe there was an overabundance of butter cookies when "keep me there" ("by the butter cookies, cause i got the munchies big time!") was written....

Paul woke up with the melody in his head and started singing "scramble eggs." At least that is what I remember of the story.

Yep, and I believe he has said that the full words he was ad-libbing to the melody were, "scrambled eggs... oh, baby, how I love your legs."


Like Joe said, it's just a little way for them to keep the melody in their head, or to differentiate between works-in-progress (rather than calling something "Jam #237")... so "Butter Cookie" isn't all that bizarre when ya think about it! :)
