With all due respect, your party fosters those types of attitudes. Jesse Helms is one of the heroes of your party.

But I take that back, I don't think I would be kicked out! There would be tears, a huge fight and disappointment for a while...but I think it would pass in time. I have plans of coming out to my immediate family until I move FAR away!

We don't foster a "kill all gays" attitude. They just think that a marriage should be between a man and a woman...I don't see a subliminal "kill all gays" message in that.

Trust me; I get what you are trying to say. But why should I have to compromise my other political beliefs all for the sake of one difference of opinion.

Ahhh - but those ideals really are not the R party now in its present state are they. What has W done to achieve your goals and, whether you care to admit it, W and his ilk are the new R party. So, join them or get out because they do not want your kind at all. If you do not believe me, just read the Solicitor's and Amicus Briefs in the Lawrence decision. They will shock you.

Aren't you the one who was talking about changing to an Independent less than ten minutes ago?

Still planning on moving to the northeast? They'll probably think that us liberal scum up here tainted you.

No, they think all sex is hetero and in a marriage or none at all. Capice?

On the whole, they represent none of your beliefs anymore. If so, let's see how they implement them, other than your beliefs on abortion, which are mostly irrelevant to the running of the country, which is all you profess you want the Feds. to do and with as little inteference in our private lives as possible.

Well I know W has done a terrible job at reducing government, protecting the borders, etc... (and now that guest-worker program isn't helping anything).

and he did it with the full wieght and bravada of the R party behind him didn't he? Thus, my point, the R represents none of your professed interest anymore.

But we support him because of the USSC nomination...it is the MOST important thing he will do during his term in office...it sure as hell is more important than Bush himself...

Go back and read in this thread. I was going by that and W meets none of them - not one save for maybe abortion, which again is the least relevant in the big scheme of things.

I have both sissy friends and butch friends who I love dearly. So I just do things the old-fashioned way and hate people for their haircuts.

Yes, and your support of this man will make you sex like a felony in the near future. You do realize that don't you? Yet, you want him in.

dissention 10-31-2005 06:33 PM

If you can't taint someone like a CT born and raised Ann Coulter, then...

But seriously, If I did tell my parents they would be upset but not REALLY shocked...I think they somewhere deep down must have always known...

Well, history and their current platform support me. Again, they argued to keep only homnosexual sodomy illegal (a misdeameanor in this case I think) - do you honestly think that will change. If so, you truly are naive or you think that because you are a white kid with friends they will never prosecute you, which is even more naive that I thought.

I am really not familiar with any of these laws so I can't comment. But how can they really enforce anything like that? When you are in your own property...

He still thinks the R's will welcome him with open arms. If I were a sadist, I would like to be there for that rude awakening  But, I wish that on no one no matter how naive and unwilling to learn.

I didn't say that switching to an independent WOULD compromise my beliefs. Are you on the same realm as the rest of us Josh?

I said that being a DEMOCRATC would compromise my political beliefs.

No, you didn't. This is what you said:

"So because specific groups are close-minded I have to sacrifice my other social and economical beliefs...that is unfair."

Implying that you shouldn't have to leave the Republican party because of "specific close-minded groups." To which I reminded you that registering as an Independent would not result in you sacrificing or compromising your "beliefs." Keep up!

And I am vaguely familiar with Lawrence v. Texas, but it was an interesting read (I'll read it thoroughly later tonight).

Well I don't understand why exactly I must LEAVE the Republican Party just due to one issue. Why not fight inside to change it? Why are there any gay Republicans at all then?
