This is a hot button issue with me. That stupid cardigan.
She's a grown woman with a mind of her own. She wore the cardigan because either A-she wanted to, or B-she decided to take Lindsey's suggestion about toning down her wardrobe to the max and went with the librarian look over her usual stage clothes.
Lindsey didn't force her to wear squat. She could easily tell him to f*ck off and wear whatever she wanted. I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time.

You are my hero. I'm sorry, but I don't like the Miss Martyr act.

Who knows what he said to her about her wardrobe -- if anything. She said he asked her if she couldn't just tone it down, so that automatically means he told her to run out and put on a granny sweater? If she hadn't been wearing Reeboks in her solo shows long before that, from that statement people would have assumed that Lindsey told her to wear those shoes too.

Michele

maybe she was going for that 80s way oer the top look she had between 89 and 92. if that was the case maybe L was right to tell her to tone it down. Knowing Stevie she went in the complete opposite direction as a kinda F u to L.

I think the whole "old black dress" look that she went for in 2003 went right along with her pissy mood for most of the year.... Obviously she was out of wack and that mood just translated to her clothing... She looked like she didn't have the energy to put the effort in. But that's alright... She turned herself around...

Yes she sure did. The "Crystal Visions tour" was really like the "Stevie Nicks re-invention tour" in my mind...a complete 180.

In the video Lindsey said, "this particular leg of the tour." So, he's still going on his next-leg-new-music agenda.

Very good observation. It was like the SYW tour was too tame for her or something. A person like Stevie can't stay toned down for too long or the earth might tilt off its axis. This woman is meant to rock out and and have lots of fun on stage. It is the natural order of things.

I hope someone from Stevie's camp or the powers that be are hearing that we want SOTM. We must all put our collective minds together and chant SOTM on this board. Maybe Stevie will channel the message and have a dream to put SOTM in the set.

SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM, SOTM

I have a strong feeling you are right. I recently went through a lot of the SYW photos on my computer and wow, it is like night and day difference between SYW tour and CV tour. The SYW tour was more of a shell of Stevie and only half there, but when she got through to the other side so to speak, wow, look out world... Stevie is back! I am sure she went through hell during that time. I mean going through that time in your life while touring and a hectic schedule? I give her a lot of credit for pulling herself back together and looking more fabulous.

Yes, I thought it was well-understood among the fans that Stevie was going through menopause during the Say You Will tour, and that was reflected in her performances.

My mom and my aunts all went through it around the same time. The mood swings alone were vicious -- I'm kind of surprised that my male relatives and I survived. ;)

And I couldn't agree more with Regina, regarding the whole cardigan thing. I don't doubt that Lindsey asked Stevie to "tone things down," but we all know damn well that no one TELLS Stevie Nicks to do anything. That's one of the things I love about her.

Stevie seems more passionate - and lively - this time around.

You are killing me... that is so damn funny I can't stop laughing and my sides hurt from laughing so hard.:laugh::laugh:

Thing is, I can tell there were some edits so I can only imagine what was said that was edited out. That interviewer probably went to the bathroom and cried her eyes out after being yelled at by Stevie and being on the receiving end of that deadly stare. Nobody messes with Stevie... never.

marinnette 12-12-2008 04:39 AM

so funny!!!

stevie's mafia gang!!!

anyway, I insist that if she really had such a bad time while on the SYW tour (for me it was a mix of: menopause, missing Christine and B/N syndrome..that's how I call "this thing" Stevie and Lindsey have) why going on the road again? I am sure all of you can remember at least a couple of whinings and complains about the tour, they are in video.
I think that she must have had a long talk with Lindsey, some guarantee it won't be the same...maybe their syndrome has gotten worse I mean...better...much deeper into the syndrome's fever

I reivindicate SOTM too!!!!! (Mirage tour version is just...PERFECT. awesome performance, the chemistry among FM is sooo high that it's almost disturbing)

Or, she realized how much money she could make (a whole lot)
