Why on Earth did they drop 'Rhiannon' from the setlist? I remember that in Mick's book he talked about how Stevie refused to let them play 'Rhiannon' in concert anymore.

Who makes an entire album, then the videos and then let's them get the tour started and then just says, sinara! I think he just freaked out for some reason, maybe a reason we will never trully know.

I was all of 10 when that happened and 1987 there was too much going on that I had absolutely NO idea this was happening or a tour. This just went over my head and I have no recollection of it at all.

I hate when people knock RAL. It like is a burning spear driving into my heart. I adore this album so much. I can listen to RAL and OSOTM so much easier than her first two albums, I don't know why...not saying they are critically better, but the latter two are just easier to sink in to? Maybe?

I love hearing about shows that I was too young to see. Stevie always said during the RAL show that she had to get OFF coke and only would do a very little. I guess it would be alcohol making her act "different". And she was bloated.

As for the WH tour, you just watch her tv appearances and it always seems her eyes will just fall out of her head they are spinning so much. But I love that..that excitement and energy. I just pretend she drank a few Red Bulls

Maybe it had to do with her voice. I know that during that time, her voice was changing GREATLY during the RAL/Tango period; maybe it was too much of a strain to sing it every night. Don't forget that she didn't do it on the OSOTM tour, too.

As for the White House comment line, I have that sucker on speed dial. I'm surprised the Gestapo, er, Secret Service hasn't knocked on my door to escort me to Gitmo after some of the calls I've made. :laugh:

I agree that it was unprofessional and downright lame of Lindsey to bail on the tour when it had been booked. All of this "survival move" stuff - I think he would still have survived if he had waited until AFTER the tour to leave Fleetwood Mac. Unless he was afraid of actually having to deal with Stevie for more than a couple weeks, lol.

I don't like OSOTM and RAL very much. On RAL, "Talk to Me" is great, and holds a soft spot in my heart as my intro to Stevie Nicks (although my obssession came much later, lol). The rest go from moderate ("I Sing for the Things", "I Can't Wait", "Has Anyone Ever Written...", "Rock a Little", "No Spoken Word") to tolerable ("Some Become Strangers", "If I Were You") to wretched ("The Nightmare", "Imperial Hotel", "Sister Honey"). Sorry Johnny!

OSOTM is a little worse, I would say. I love "Ooh My Love"; as for "Rooms On Fire", "Two Kinds of Love", "Whole Lotta Troube" and "I Still Miss Someone" - they're OK. The rest go from bad to worse.

I don't think Street Angel is much worse, despite what Stevie says.

But TISL... aaah. MUCH better!

They edited it out of the radio broadcast, though. Surprisingly, she also did the same schtick at the San Jose show. She must've enjoyed torturing the audience. I also loved the fake tears/crying bit that she did at every show during HAEWAFY when she talked about Woodstock. It got downright laughable. :nod:

That was all shtick she repeated at a number of shows, including Shoreline Amphitheatre in Northern California. Sing the first line & then tell the crowd to "finish it."

Good question. As far as I know, her only "sacred" song is "Dreams." I think she's performed that one for every Fleetwood Mac tour & every Stevie Nicks tour since the song was written. I don't think any other song in her catalog has had that sort of staying power, or has that sense of "We MUST play this" for her.

The Fleetwood Mac equivalent from the post-Welch era would be "Go Your Own Way," which Fleetwood Mac played on every tour with Buckingham (even before it was recorded) as well as three tours without Buckingham! Also appeared on Buckingham's solo tour.
