Whew. What a mess. :sorry: Folks, you'd better be ready for your immunity choice if you get to answer the question!!! Since Jacob hasn't made a ruling, and the immunity song WAS changed a couple days ago(much as vote changing has been allowed), the 12 minute immunity change should be allowed to stand.
Save Me a Place is immune.
Oh, and I forgot to vote...........
I don't like Beautiful Child

marc402 08-25-2004 01:00 PM

no matter wich of the 2 songs has imunity for me as i wasn't gonna vote against either one of em

my vote goes to beautiful child AGAIN

i agree this round is messy afair so far :p

Mari 08-25-2004 01:30 PM

Beautiful Child.

Popularity is for the masses. No thanks. Stevie fans can brag about the trinkets all they want. I'm not impressed in the least.
And for the record, Bella Donna is one of my favorite albums of all time. But, I love Law and Order alot more.

Ah, the "music snob" defense. :) "Since everyone likes it, it must suck.." Well, i'm sure you have a good point, but i stopped being disuaded from my tastes by exclusionary elitism awhile back...but I still appreciate it. I just don't want it to narrow my possible enjoyment of things...But rock on! That's the beauty of taste... :xoxo:

But don't you see? If Immunity is allowed to be changed, that WILL be making up rules as you go along. The immunity giver could just keep changing what they want according to the votes they see coming in, ie, making up rules as he/she goes along!

I vote for SMAP...SMAPSMAPSMAPSMAPSMAP!
Save Me a Place, that is..

Am I the only one who noticed this?

No, you're not

Ah. You just like to stir up trouble so you respond to everything just to be in the mix of things. Do as you please. I'll be sure just to skip your posts cuz I'm sure it will be just another post on pointing out a problem and dwelling on it.

Thanks, I didn't think I was going crazy... at least not any more than usual.

So if this was allowed before, it stands to reason that it should be allowed now. Therefore, Save Me a Place has immunity.

You will spare both of us some trouble. You won't address me unnecessarily, and I won't have to reply to your unnecessary addresses.

It all works out. ;)

An example? The Beatles of course.

And back on topic, what is happening to this round? I have NO clue!

There is an immunity dispute, the guy changed his immunity song to SMAP after 4 people have already voted. Then a couple posts ago, WITHOUT ANY RULING FROM RUMOURS 77(!) homermcvie or carne just SAID ok, SMAP is immune (again, Rumours 77 has not ruled on this) so, to my mind, SMAP does not yet technically have immunity. But that is what happened. Oh, then everyone argued about stuff in between  Yaaaaaaay, Ledge!

I still don't understand the hatred towards that song, I love it.

well, that's the whole point, Rumours 77 hasn't ruled. People who like the song are saying it's immune, I voted as if it wasn't immune, since the first immunity given was not to SMAP, and I think people could just keep changing immunity according to votes if we allow people to change it....
HOWEVER
only 4 votes were cast, and in this one case i will happily abide by Rumours 77 ruling..
So you may want to wait until then to vote.

I am going to continue operating on the belief that Save Me a Place has immunity. Since you and I remember that there was a precedent set about this, I don't see why in this instance the person shouldn't be allowed to change it.

If Rumours77 wants to make a ruling on that, I suspect the time to have done so effectively has passed. Our friends in Europe will soon be going to bed and it is unfair to them to not have a ruling to let them know exactly what they're voting for. So we either go with Save Me a Place having immunity or this round needs to be done over.

*Ahem*

Is it really a "clean, fun game" when you IM people asking them to vote off particular songs?

I would think a "clean" game would involve no behind-the-scenes influencing whatsoever?

No? ;)
