My call - zero tolerance

I hate to be such a hardliner, but after the last debacle where Homer "accidentally" gave immunity to the wrong song and tried to change it.... it would open up a huge can of worms I'm not prepared to deal with if we allowed Marc to change his vote.

So, no, Marc. I'm afraid you'll have to stick with what you originally put. :( Better luck next time!

Omigod! he accidentally wrote a song that was already gone! that is soooo not fair! It's not the same situation as the other thing at all. It's not fair, and you know it. :wavey:

AMber, if I thought it wasn't fair, then I wouldn't rule that way. You're the one trying to change the rules for Marc.

I have made the decision I feel is the fair one because I am following the rule that states one cannot change the vote once it is cast. This rule is clearly laid out in the opening post of the game. If I were to change it for Marc, I could be accused of trying to manipulate the results. Therefore, my ruling stands regardless of any whining and temper tantrums that may result.

Interestingly, Marc himself seems to understand this. But thanks for your two cents, AMber.

Immunity for an entire round is not the same as one vote. and changing one vote is not even the same as changing a vote CAUSE YOU ACCIDENTALLY PICKED A SONG THAT WAS VOTED OUT ALREADY. In effect, his vote was not a vote at all. He might as well have left it blank, because it was impossible to vote for the song he put. It's not like he picked a song that was eligible, then changed it. But i see you will follow the RULE. This is how law and gov't become unfair, too :D
Thanks for your one cent, soda

Not that it matters...

irishgrl 09-10-2004 05:21 PM

ok then: round 11, sotm.

and I'll edit here: Ive been told........though it may be a RUMOUR (ar ar) that if SOTM is voted off, there will be an eternity of gratitude...........This is an exciting prospect boys and girls, eternal gratitude!!!!!

anyway, though I personally LIKE SOTM, I am helping out in the name of Eternal Gratitude (because you never know when it might come in handy!):
ROUND 11, SOTM

:]

well, folks I am new at this and didnt know.

oh, look, she didn't put her vote in the subject line. I guess it doesn't count, then....especially since the most recent ruling on the subject of changing moot votes...
BTW, Irishgirl, did anyone offer you eternal gratitude if you did not vote for SOTM? Cause i'm offering it right now, especially since your vote doesn't count! :)

amber 09-10-2004 05:29 PM

And if I suddenly spot a vote in irishgirls line...Well, that would be flying hard and fast in the face of a RULE, which is that you must put your vote in the subject line, so i hope i don't see that... :woohoo:

Round 11 Sisters of the moon

Irishgrl, you have to put your vote and the round number 11 in the subject line otherwise it won`t be counted. Please edit your post.

I guess we all knew how this thread would develop so we don't need to complain now. We decided to take part with open eyes. Even though I had better not changed my mind and had better stayed outside as I initially wanted- here I am giving my meaningless vote for the sisters...

But that's not fair, dear. Marc put a song that does not even exist anymore in his subject line, and no one was allowed to remind him to change it, cause it had already been voted off....nofair, nofair....

Okay, Patti and dissention made clear that you don't fight alone in this game. Sodascouts pointed out that my move was silly and pathetic, although i knew that myself. Marc isn't changing his vote, because his vote didn't exist. A song which has already been voted out, is the same as a vote not existing. I don't understand why the logic of THAT is escaping everyone. How can your vote be a vote if it was never eligible? It is the same as NOTHING. not eligible=nothing. get it? no, obviously not.
And yes, mein soda, I understand you won't be changing your ruling. logic escapes....and no one goes to search for it....

That's bad logic, my friend. And in that case, Irishgirl not posting her vote in the line is her own fault for not checking the RULES. How does his vote exist? What will it count toward? It only exists if it can be counted in this round as a vote, and it can't - because there is no such song from last round on out. I mean, obviously you're not going to see the logic in that, and this may be the last time i argue it with you (may  ) but it, to me, (and i've taken lots of logic/philosophy classes) just seems the height of obvious logic. Sorry :sorry: . I mean, you say he's changing it - from what, nothing to nothing? Cause in this round, WMYTYTO doesn't exist, therefore it is nothing. It's semantics, now, of course, because that particular infraction of a RULE is obviously being enforced with an iron fist - though other infractions are met with mere reminders...unfair, also, but...whatever, i just think it is unfair and illogical and so will speak up about it, no matter what anyone may say about whining.

It's not that I'm against Stevie winning, I love to see Sara be triumphant, but it would be disappointing and so much less exciting to see just Stevie's songs in the last few rounds.

That means that we will be enemies in the last few rounds. If a steviesong wins, i want it to be Storms. But hey! I don't want a Steviesong to win.

About Tusk: As a song, it is the weakest one from lindsey on the album, imo.
It's sort of a non-song, but therefore it deserves ALOT of credit, being the flagship of what Lindsey wanted to state with this album towards audience industry, his own band, and maybe even himself. That one being the first single as follow-up of the biggest commercial succes in history, was more punk then punk itself.

Well no way Lindsey can win that thing. I know it, you know it, we know it, it is simply a given thing. But we can still make our points though (I know a few people who like statements) ;) and regard which Stevie song beats the other Stevie songs in the last rounds. If so then it may be Storms.
