Frozen Love is a really great song!

I love how FM brought them up musically. This was a great foundation of compositions (including their newly written songs).

Mixing these two with the brits was the best route for everyone.

"Crystal" and "Stephanie" are my favorites. "Lola My Love" is easily the worst due to the misogynist lyrics.

Whew, that's the truth. I've revisited BN recently with all the chatter and wow, did they really benefit from the Mac rhythm section.

This album isn't bad, but it's not great, either. Crystal, Stephanie, WOALTSO, and Frozen Love are probably my favorites.

It's so true. It's like someone learning French that's pretty decent at the language, then someone comes along and converses with you and suddenly you start to become beautifully fluent. And they begin to increasingly thrive, as well!

You're from Pittsburgh, right? Do you remember in the early and mid 80s WDVE's electric lunch would sometimes play Don't Let Me Down Again and Frozen Love. It was a real treat and I always turned it on too late to record the full song so I would only have partial songs on my cassette tape. It was like a unicorn to record a song from Buckingham Nicks. Stevie said her dad's favorite song was Don't Let Me Down again. John McVie loved Crystal so much that it was his pressure to put it on Fleetwood Mac. Frozen Love is probably my favorite. I wonder if history would have changed if another song from the album was played instead of Frozen Love when Mick heard it. Frozen Love does demonstrate Lindsey's intricate playing.

There was actually a 1977 disco version of 'Don't Let Me Down Again' by Canadian singer Shirley Eikhard.

"partial songs on my cassette tape" made me laugh, yeesh, that describes all my early 8os mix tapes! and then of course we have the inevitable song cut-off when the tapes reached the end of side A or B...

Interesting to imagine mick hearing a different song instead of frozen love. something like Lola My Love might not have caught his attention in the same way! so amazing how it turned out the way it did.

Yep that is the way we rolled in the 1980s. I always heard the end of Frozen Love, Silver Springs, or Don't Let Me Down Again (these elusive unicorns) on the radio. By the time I found a cassette to record on I had to either rewind or fast forward past the songs I did not want to record over so I always just ended up with about 50 seconds of the song :eek:
We are the same age so you know the pain!

My taped songs were never complete. Even though I taped from the beginning, my nightware was that the DJ used to talk before the end, so I had to stop recording. :mad:

The liner notes for the deluxe edition of the White Album mention that Keith Olsen played more than one song for Fleetwood during his visit. Here's the quote from Fleetwood:

"That hour and a half spent in Sound City changed everything. I think Keith Olsen played me 'Frozen Love', 'Crying in the Night", and 'Crystal' - which we ended up re-cutting for Fleetwood Mac. I do not believe I heard the whole album (referring to Buckingham Nicks).

thanks for that info! i did not spend the $ on the deluxe edition lol. at least keith chose some of the best songs!
