He said her songs were not emotionally insightful? What does that even mean? And I would imagine hers, among all three writers, are the ONLY emotionally insightful...if by this he means "deep," in which his fail, too.

I'm with Homer on this one. "Silver Springs" is a great song, but it is NOT on Rumours, at least it's not on my record that I bought 30 years ago.

He said that about the time of the SYW tour. to be fair he was probably a bit fed up of people constantly asking about Christine - still it was a very disrespectful thing to say. Especially from someone who chose to go with the "brand name" Fleetwood Mac rather than put out his own album (Gift of Screws). Then to have the nerve to critisize someone who was just as responsible as him for creating the popularity of the "brand". As a musician I have the greatest of respect for Lindsey but he doesn't half say some daft things. Someone should slap him across the chops then chuck their wine in his face - oh sorry that's already been done! :laugh:

He was certainly very defensive about her leaving which IMO meant he knew just how must she'd be missed.

I did not think Hold Me came off well live, though I LOVE the song and it is one of my fav.'s of CM's as well as in general. I mean who has never just gotten up and belted it out while dancing alone at home :wavey:

As for CM being deep - - I think Songbird, Why, and a few others are very deep, but I think most of her stuff is light love songs, which is cool and great. I think LB's songs are very deep, esp. ISA's:

So afraid
Slip and I fall and I die

-- that is rather heavy and deep. Then, we have Oh Diane, which is light fluff.

As for La Nicks, it really doesn't get deeper than her lyrics and her delivery, which is intense. Her problem, if any, is that although the words are beautiful, she is so cryptic that people sometimes, to quote CM, no one knows what the hell she is talking about :laugh:

In the end, I miss the old English broad and wish she would do a reunion concert :nod:
