pronouncing something unsubstantial would mean you are comparing two of the same. in the case of ITM & UTS, one is an apple and the other is an avacado. the "better" of the two is merely a matter of taste.

christine and lindsey are two very different artists. both of them excel within their own area of expertise. they obviously had personal goals in mind with these solo efforts, and i think they should both be happy with what they produced because each album fulfills that expectation.

it just happens to be that i enjoy ITM more than UTS. that doesn't lessen lindsey's achievement, and i would think the converse might be true for people who prefer UTS.

Gail

Tell us how you really feel, Gail.

By the way, I couldn't have said it better myself.:D

I really like the song under the skin, but as a huge Stevie fan, I am hoping for a new solo album since i have never lived to see a release as a fan...

Much Love,
Ethan

I see no competition...

since that is like comparing cats to dogs....Plus, I dont have a copy of "In the Meantime".

This should include Trouble in Shangri La too. But even with TISL I'd still choose Under the The Skin as the favorite.

UTS is far more my preference. I am sorry to say but I haven't stopped listening to it since I got it. I can't. It's in my head. ITM just didn't have that kind of impact for me.

You don't have to be sorry that you like something.

If you like UTS better than ITM then that's fine - it's your preference.

I happen to like ITM better but we're all entitled to our opinion and don't have to apologise for it.

I'm sorry that you felt you had to say that.

I am sorry because I had high hopes for ITM. I love her solo 1984 record so much. I have worn thru copies listening to it so much!

But I was impressed...not like Lindsey's album...which I listen to so much I may start having dreams about it.

There isn't an option I can vote. I find ITM interesting for the lyrics, built on tenderness and irony but the production was too amateurish. UTS is interesting for the arrangements and some of the lyrics are nicely intimate but in both albums there isn't music I come back to as a necessity.
