I hate the Stevie close-ups too, in both the Tango and Red Rocks videos. I prefer Red Rocks though because it's nice to hear tracks like Talk To Me and No Spoken Word. The White Wing concert is definitely the best Stevie concert though, no doubt about that.

I hate the close ups of Stevie too - especially in Red Rocks - doesn't anybody notice that she has a completely different hairstyle

Red Rocks is OK to listen to, I just don't want to have to see it. The fake lightening flashes in the background during Dreams is enough to make my nauseous.

TITN - no passion, it's like it's not even live. Well, I guess a lot of it isn't. :D

 I totally agree. Tell me why again this is the only official Stevie release on DVD we have??

The TITN DVD is not great either - the close ups of Stevie make it look like it was HER band  And Billy's and Rick's voices sound poofy in songs like "The Chain"...

My God. You'd think the world revolved around singles. SCREW SINGLES. Album tracks are where its at, and where it has BEEN at since the '60s. Singles are a dead format.

TheWILDHeart you must be new dearie. Your not going to find anyone here that doesnt like the Sisters Of The Moon from the Mirage concert.

Oh I love the Sisters of the Moon performance. I just don't see why it part of the encore for the Mirage Tour. I would love to see a concert opened by Sisters of the Moon. I just don't like the Mirage tour video. As i have said before, The White Wing Dove live video kicks all the mac live video's. I don't like Live in Boston either - they missed out the main highlights IMO.

IMO i think its a waste to close a show with the most popular single... it just doesn't move me.... plus wasn't GYOW in the encore... and Songbird... now that was moving....

2. because it's not all about the hits.... for me (and i am not being sarcastic) for me... it's about the music regardless if radio or not... i don't let the radio tell me what the best songs are....

i don't care about no Lindsey because Rick and Billy were good, it's just that... well it's when they decided we want to go from being a raw band to overproduced and cheesy... they continued this on The DAnce...

jbrownsjr 06-21-2006 05:50 PM

one thing I'd like to add.. Rick's outfit in the Tango video was unforgivable

I completely agree with you. It's just usually tour video's tend to be packed with bad cutting and all the singles with the odd album track. Plus, what really baffles me is that SOTM wasn't on the Tusk set list or on anyother after Mirage....why? No GYOW came before the encore and Don't Stop came right in the middle of the show (again...odd). The encore was just SOTM and Songbird. I bet Lindsey was pissed about that lol.

The encores were "Blue Letter", "Sisters Of The Moon" & then "Songbird" closed the show. However, they mixed up the order on the video. "Blue Letter" is in the middle of the video set list, for some strange reason.

And, they also added a clavinet to "You Make Loving Fun" in the editing process. When I saw them on that tour, there was definitely no clavinet.

"Don't Stop" was played early in the set list that tour, the third song. "Sisters Of The Moon" was played on the Tusk tour. It was even played on the last leg of the Rumours tour in 1978. I think the running order on the Mirage tour was just fine.

I've never actually seen the Mirage video, but I've seen Eyes of the World, Not That Funny, and Sisters of the Moon from it. On SOTM they've overdubbed the bass all to hell - look at the end; John is going nuts but the bass doesn't match his playing at all. Drives me nuts!

Yep. Hilarious on one level. And not on another. So, so very not.

I actually quite like Red Rocks. Edge of Seventeen especially .... it's just ... I don't know. Intense or something!

PS: I don't really hate them. I just wish they were Lindsey. :o
