I hadn't thought about Frank Harding in long time. I remember the Q&A with Ken Caillat here on The Penguin years ago and his name name up. And saw the old newsgroup stuff:

"Ken, you did a lot of work on Fleetwood Mac's "25 Years: The Chain." A man named Frank Harding is listed in the credits as a band historian & archivist. He spoke at a Mac fan convention in Texas about ten years ago. Did you know Mr. Harding or work alongside him for the box set project?" (David, Los Angeles, California, USA)

"Thank you for your interest. I do know Frank Harding, the last I saw of him was in 1990. Liked Mr. Harding then, and if anyone knows where Frank is, please have him get in touch with me, for, the last I saw of him he had borrowed a great deal of my Fleetwood Mac memorabilia and I would like it back please. In fact I had lyric sheets that I wanted to put in this DVD. Thanks Frank!"

I wonder if Ken ever heard anything. The newsgroup listed an address in Australia. Deagon, Queensland. Any of our Aussie people run into him?

I used to talk to Frank often in the late '80s before and after he went over to 'work' with Mick on his book. When he got back he showed me the book and the discograhy and archives going right back to the Peter Green days.He was happy and proud of what he'd done. He sold me a lot of things that I will always have. He was/is an Englishman originally and was living and working as a "builder" here in Perth when I met him. He built his own house and I visited him and his first wife, nice lady, a few times to enhance my collection of Stevie memorabilia. The next time I saw him was when we camped out to buy tickets for the next FM concert and he was with his second wife. The first marriage ended, he said, because of his "obsession with Fleetwood Mac, as he told me at the time. From what I have heard, he apparently burnt quite a few people financially but I don't know all the details so I can't comment. I personally know of a business man that had said he did the wrong thing by him and as a result told me "not to trust him". I had no problem with him myself. I think you have to be careful with anybody these days. The last time I spoke with him was as a result of calling his mother which he insisted on if I needed to speak with him regarding his collection which was mainly at her house because he was away. She was a lovely lady and spoke with a beautiful English accent. She kindly gave me his new phone number and he said that because of his "obsession" with FM, as he put it, he had to change his lifestyle because of his new wife and two twin boys. He told me he was working for a company that produces environmentaly friendly products in Queensland. He told me the name of the company but I've forgotten it since it was a while ago. I have'nt spoken to him since but I still have his phone number somewhere.

I remember the Stevie conventions of the Affairs of the Heart-fanzine in the early 90's.

Were always lots of fun, tapetrading, penpals all before the interwebs :)

Yes I do remember some of those Stevie/FM fanzines that I subscribed to at the time did some coverage of those FM conventions.I got to dig them out.
