It appears to me that Mick has been "Officially Appointed" the lucky winner. AND THE BAND PLAYED ON~ |

Mick
Mick is a great drummer, and he has held Fleetwood Mac together for what, 36 years? in one form or another.
He just has no head for business. He gets himself mixed up in these crazy deals, hires people like JT, starts business ventures he can't finish like that restaurant here in DC, writes books like My Life and Times in Fleetwood Mac and disses all the members he's mad at. I don't know where that comes from in him. He also managed to lose millions of the band's money, that's why they all fired him as manager and they have separate managers now. Poor Johnny-gets no attention and I adore him, too-that funny, quirky little smile.. |
I think Mick is obnoxious. I don't think his "faces" are funny, I think his "balls" are crude, I am not "with him" , and I hate the way Stevie deferrs to him.
I also don't like how he now introduces Stevie as "Stephanie Nicks". That's not her stage name, she has never referred to herself professionally that way. At the show I was at, people started cheering as Mick pointed to Stevie to introduce her, then people paused when they realized Mick had said Stephanie instead of Stevie, then the cheering picked up again but was not as enthusiastic. I think he took away the intensity of the applause she deserved. I don't understand why he's doing that. If anybody can explain it to me, please do. susieq :wavey: |

I'm saying that people pause and think "Why did Mick say Stephanie instead of Stevie?" And in that tiny second, momentum is lost. susieq :wavey: |
I'm sure she wants to be referred exactly as he is.

How bad does Mick diss the members he's mad at in his book? With as disgusting as it is, I love reading smut so I think that would be interesting to me.
I thought I remembered reading something about how he wrote about Lindsey bending Stevie over the back of a car and beating the **** out of her or something. I also heard that half the stuff in there is untrue. If I had the luxury of being a serious cokehead for 25 years I could see my memory being a little more than fuzzy. Come to think about it, how did he remember ANYTHING to write a book? |

Mick did not write the book by himself-he had a co-author.
That story about Stevie and Lindsey was mainly what I had in mind when I say he dissed band members he was mad at. At the time he was still mad at Lindsey for quitting so he wanted to make Lindsey look as bad as possible. I do not for one moment believe Lindsey did anything to Stevie except yell at her, and she was yelling too. Mick just put that in there to be mean and sell books. If you have the "Going Home" video, watch it carefully-Lindsey answers some of Mick's accusations in the video-indirectly. If you've read the book, though, you know what he's referring to. There was no need for Mick to wash the band's dirty linen in public is my point I guess-he needed money at the time and he did it to get money. |

I think Lindsey said it perfectly in "Wrong." :) |
