Until I recently sold much of my musical gear, I'd been working on Sugar Daddy forever. Playing piano only up until, "but when it comes to love", then playing Hammond organ with my left hand, and piano with my right, and doing the leslie speeds with my foot. There's a lot going on in that fantastic song! It's so underrated!!!!

There certainly is. And it certainly is! In the studio, it sounds like she played the piano in the base track and overdubbed the organ, so she could make use of two hands on each instrument. I wonder how she would have played that live (prior to the mini-Mac backup musicians from 1987-onward).

I could see her doing it primarily on the Hohner, going to left-hand on the Hohner and right hand on the Hammond on the “but when it comes to love…” parts.

Or, maybe Lindsey plays a Stonesy rhythm to cover the piano part while Christine just plays organ.

The mind boggles and reels.

I sold my organs about a year ago. And didn't get arrested. Any country folk here remember Hee Haw? I sold both of my organs to Junior Samples cousin. Seriously.

.

I just saw this video today and I came to the Ledge with the same idea. I thought, “I know that name… I wonder if anyone else remembers…”

Anyway, I’m glad “BigBigLove” is here to clear to tell us his side. The video is very cool. I loved hearing that little jam.

Thanks for sharing, Brian!
