Lots of 'Rumours' for the songs

Rumoured songs

- Julia
- Blue Water
- Watch Devil
- The Dealer
- Space Needle
- Have No Heart

sorcerer999 07-24-2014 07:21 PM

This Moe Sizlack (named after the bartender on "The Simpsons") just joined Facebook YESTERDAY. And that's the only post he has on his wall. And he has NO picture and NO info.

Don't get me wrong, "Blue Water" and "Julia" are the be all and end all for me as far as Stevie demos go and I will jump for joy if they are on this record...

...but I'm not jumping for joy until I see an official track listing.

welcomechris 07-24-2014 07:22 PM

Wait Moe Sizlack sounds like Moe from the simpsons. Oh well we'll have to wait

markolas 07-24-2014 07:27 PM

I love the speculating, though.

I must be the only one dreading both "Joan Of Arc" and "What Has Rock 'N' Roll Ever Done For You?". Both songs are atrocious.

Did they nix the word Gold? I sure hope so. It's much better. But now should it be entitled as 24 Karats? And wouldn't it be nice if it was actually 24 songs?

I think the gold is there

I am waiting for The Tragedy of ones Own Soul and Lilly Girl :) 8 minute versions. Of each.

with the double on vinyl I would think it would almost have to be 18 songs..16 and the 2 bonus tracks.

Phil 07-24-2014 08:30 PM

This is speculative on my part, but I'm thinking the track-listing might be something like this:

24 Karat Gold
Starshine
1969 mystery track - possibly the most recent snippet?
Space Needle
Have No Heart
The Dealer
Watch Devil
Julia
Sanctuary
All The Beautiful Worlds
Forsaken Love
If You Were My Love
Joan Of Arc
Gold & Braid
Forest Of The Black Roses
Gypsy Beggar

Some of these really do seem likely (and I'm not happy about a few of them), but I'm still holding out for China Doll and She Loves Him Still. Please...

It was already confirmed today that the regular CD will be 14 songs, and the Deluxe Edition will include 2 bonus tracks. So this confirms Dave Stewart's tweets that only 16 tracks were recorded. Not sure, though, if the double vinyl will include the two bonus songs. That would really be sweet if it did. :)

sorcerer999 07-24-2014 08:57 PM

Okay. I just reread the tweet again. The 2 bonus tracks WILL be on the vinyl! YAY!!!:blob2:

This is from the original press release..."Additionally, a Deluxe Photobook CD album will be available for fans, which includes two bonus tracks plus 48 pages of exclusive photos from Nicks’ personal photo collection."

I have a sneaky suspicion that the "Photobook CD" is just that a CD with digital pictures (perhaps some studio footage as well) and the 2 bonus tracks as a separate purchase...I believe it was Dave Grohl that told Stevie "If you want to sell records you have to package it with something the fans want"

I think we should all be ready for "Sticker Shock" when we see the price of the "Deluxe Edition Double Album"...If the Deluxe package includes 2 LP's a 48 page printed book and the CD and or digital downloads along with the "Photobook CD" then the price may be hefty indeed...

Johnny Stew 07-24-2014 09:24 PM

Hmm, I don't believe the vinyl edition will contain the 48-page book. This quote from ABCNewsRadioOnline implies, to me, that the book only comes with the Deluxe CD edition:

"In addition, a limited edition double vinyl version of 24 Karat Gold -- Songs from the Vault will come out September 29. Also available will be a Deluxe Photobook CD, which will include two bonus tracks, as well as 48 pages of exclusive photos from Stevie's personal collection. "

People are forgetting that Gypsy Beggar is also from around that same time and Dave did tweet out those signs with lyrics from that song on it.

olive 07-25-2014 07:32 AM

i happy for a new cd what ever is on it . but .... i kinda hope she recorded them in the 70's county rock sound when she wrote them.

AnthonyMI 07-25-2014 08:54 AM

I am waiting for the "not happy unless they are unhappy" ledgies to post the following crap...

1. I don't like Dave's finger prints all over the "sound" on this album. blah blah
2. These are not as good as the originals. I wont/refuse to listen to them!
3. This album cost too much! waaaaaaaaah. :(
4. I hate the name and cover of this album. Her 80s albums and names were SO much better
5. Stevie is SO photoshopped. she is SO old now. not as hot as she used to be. :distress:
6. I would rather NOT have a new album and just listen to her OLD albums when she sounded better.
7. she should have worked with Producer "fill in the blank". He would have done a better job with her music
8. Nothing is good or happy ever. I hate my life! waaaaaaaaaah :(
9. This album only sold X copies. It is a failure. It should never have been released. She doesnt sell like she used to. It only hit Number 5!
10. I hate everything! I am going to sit here in my double wide with my 15 cats while i am eternally single and morbidly obese and sad and eat frosting out of the container with a wooden spoon while I watch The Rosebud bootleg and wish for the "good old days"!!!

Did I leave anything out?

Hahahaha! Some people are determined to be unhappy. Having a gripe is entertaining in a sick way. The only thing you left out: She better not mention the album during FWM's tour.

11. Why is Stevie promoting a record while on tour with FM? Who does she think she is?

12 She should be touring solo to promote this record.

13 Why did she put that song on the record when it should be on the next FM record.

14 Why did she waste her time on this instead of being in the studio with FM where she belongs.

15 She can have (Insert a FM members name here) on HER record but she is to busy to be in the studio with FM.

I think this will wind up being pretty close to accurate. The more I think about it, the more I think Amber is probably the 1969 track.

With the "Rhiannon " songs IMO it will be an all or nothing situation and it is starting to look more like nothing .Would have really loved Forest of the Black Roses in particular but am still very excited about the album.

You covered possibly all the bases, but perhaps one more:

11. She didn't pick my favorite demo songs, wah wah wah. That song sucks, she should have recorded this song. I'm so upset I'm never coming out of my trailer home!

I don't really see her agreeing to put just one on the album and with the known tracks filling up at this point it does not seem there will be room for them..unless she combines them in a 3 part 8 or 9 minute suite which is probably way too"proggy" for her long established style...This is all speculation of course .

I am really curious about the album cover. Trouble in Shangri La was one of the best album covers of all time by any artist and the Wild Heart was great. I really liked Crystal Visions, Timespace and In Your Dreams album covers too.

The only album covers I don't really care for are Street Angel and Bella Donna. I think they both look cheap. Maybe she will come up with something very creative this time.

Artemis 07-26-2014 10:29 AM

I'm hoping the album cover looks amazing, it's either gonna look really arty and cool or just dreadful.

The only album covers by Stevie I don' like though are Street Angel, and that bloody bubble on IYD.

I don't mind Dave's production fingers. But I do mind his face. I expect to see a lot of his mug in that 48 page booklet. Less horse, more Dave? I'm trying to tell myself it's an even trade.

Me too! My dream is a beautiful, full length shot of Stevie in white or red...anything but black, with some super cool graphics. Very simple but effective...similiar to the Bella Donna cover, even though you don't care for it. It's one of my favs. :D

With all the old polaroids and stuff, I wonder if it'll be an Exile on Main Street type cover, with several photos collaged together. Speaking of which, how cool would it be if Dave Stewart worked out a duet with Stevie & Mick Jagger (who he also produces)? I can dream, right? ;)
