And it wasn't that long ago that Mick said his mom still loved to dance. He mentioned in a interview a couple of months ago that some things she recalled didn't happen, but I don't get the impression that she suffered from Alzheimer's. So not only did she live 98 years, it seems she was healthy for most of them. Really amazing and wonderful for Mick and his surviving sister.

He also shared a cute story about how, despite often times not being very lucid, when he told her a few months ago that FM was going to be on The Today Show she immediately quipped "Ah -- great publicity!"

Oh I love this information. Nice to know that Mick is making phone calls backstage! His mother sounds like she was a card until the end. Mick's four daughters are going to have a handful when he's in his nineties.

Sad news.
I remember when Christine's Mom died when they were touring. Must be very hard.

Christine's mom died earlier, but her dad died in 1990 or so.

that's right - must have been her Dad on the Behind The Mask tour.

My Sincere Condolences

I am new to this board.

I met Mick by accident in December in Maui. He left such an impression on me as he was just very accommodating, patient and down to earth. I am so very sorry on the loss of his mom. I have read his new autobiography and learned so much about him and about his parents who sounded amazing. Mick, although she lived a long life, I know your heart will be heavy and my thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope you will take time for yourself to grieve. Your fans will understand.

I think Richard Dashut has been wonderful, in his offerings to the FM community.

He has been nothing but humble, respectful, and appreciative.

Calling him a douche makes me picture the need for a mirror.

Yes, her dad passed away in July 1990. I remember it well because it was just a week before the Pittsburgh show and the tour was postponed a few months. They would join again later and call it the "Farewell tour" and changed some of the songs they played.

Its very sad and my heart goes out to Mick and his family. But it is also a blessing how long she lived and to see him so successful and on the road doing what he loves to do. She was just in that Mick interview in Hawaii just prior to the tour kicking off.
I wonder how many shows will be cancelled or postponed?

Very sad news. My condolences to Mick, his family and the rest of the band :(

He is a wonderful guy. Remember, if you don't drink the kool aid around here, segments of groups will come at you. Luckily he doesn't care. I've seen a few nasty posts on there. To his credit, he holds the mirror up to them and publishes them. I don't understand people.. smh....

Poor Mick...what a rough go he has had lately. May him and his family find comfort in knowing that she lived a very long and, seemingly, happy life!

Wow, I get the complete opposite from Richard. He seems to be reaching out to the fans in a genuine, meaningful, and substantive way that NO ONE in the Fleetwood Mac world has ever bothered to do. He's been so incredibly generous with his time and money. He's given away thousands of dollars to fans he's never met through his blog, provided us with dozens of unseen pictures, and given us an intimate insiders look at the band we've never experienced before. I never, ever expected his blog to last more than a couple of months, and yet he seems to be determined to keep going despite some truly insulting, crazy people. While I think it's true he's probably doing this blog as a personal catharsis as well as for the fans, I certainly respect the hell out of the man for being as candid and generous as he has.

Thank you. I think Richard is tops. My condolences to Mick and his family on the loss of Biddy. This has got to be a rough time for him. Stay strong Mick. We need you.

I sure hope Mick allows himself to take some time off. Dealing with the loss of a parent is devastating. If he doesn't, he'll certainly regret it.

Here, here. Richard seems to have to repeatedly point out to rather rude people that he is not doing this for any fame or fortune. He has been very accommodating and kind and fair.
Poor Mick and his family and extended FM family. 98.5 years is a wonderful lifetime, but it still is his mom. It would be very hard for all of them. He's had a rough week, I hope he takes some time for himself and those around him who love him. We all love him, that's for sure.

I suspect she was cremated for some reason, and there won't be a funeral/service until after the tour. I could very easily be wrong.

RIP to Mrs. Fleetwood. My condolences to Mick and his family. She seemed like a lovely lady.
