True story: 8 years ago my now-husband and I went to a Fiona Apple concert, but not together. He was with a friend, and so was I, and it was a coincidence that we were both there. Anyway, at some point, he screamed out "I LOVE YOU FIONA" during a quiet moment, and then the best thing ever happened - she responded - with "Whatever dude."

^I'm in some pain about The Affair right now and can barely think about anything even tangentially related to it without being depressed, BUT have people who don't watch that show heard Fiona Apple's theme song? It rocks.

She remade her song Container for the theme and its mysterious and seductive. Basically, I'm just a wave and I've got nothing else to do but wreak havoc and devastation and sink right back into the ocean as if I'd never been there.

Yum.

It might just be a personal bugbear, but it bothers me when people say or write "yum" when discussing anything other than food or drink.

Not sure why, but I think it is because it sounds like sexual innuendo to me, so if people say it around me in public, I feel a little uncomfortable. I don't mind you saying it here on the Ledge - but I am just trying to start a conversation about this.

Is it just me or is that use of "yum" giving the word sexual connotations?

I don't think it has sexual connotations, but if it did, it wouldn't deter my use of it.

Lindsey Buckingham in the Seven Wonders video. YUM!

By the way, the corporate name of the company that owns Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Kentucky Fried Chickens is Yum! Brands.

They spell it with the exclamation mark.

One hundred percent agreed with you here. I put that theme song on my iPod about a half hour after the premiere of that show, I loved it so much. So gloriously atmospheric.

It took me a few listens, but now I am hooked on that song. I love the show, too.

No. Don't talk to me. We cannot survive a disagreement of this magnitude.
