Hello, is anyone going to the meet n' greet with Mick tomorrow at Washington, if so what time is the meet and where in the venue, I am flying in from the UK and had no details of where to meet and get tickets, the organisers are going to call, but it's getting very late in the day for me......

just a little worried

I'm not doing VIP tomorrow but last year we met at Will Call which is on the F Street side of the arena.

Halloween and a Fleetwood Mac concert - the stars, or should I say moon, have aligned..

I fell in love with this band on Christmas night, 1976, when my sister gave me the "white" Fleetwood Mac album. And tonight, many moons later, I'm seeing the band who made that record... and everything today is alright. Enjoy to all those who are going to the show - and best of luck to those who still need tickets. Faith will be rewarded! :nod:

Mick Fleetwood dines at Del Campo

Hey, isn’t that… rock legend Mick Fleetwood, fueling up for Friday night’s show at the Verizon Center with a Thursday evening meal at Chinatown’s Del Campo?

The Fleetwood Mac drummer and co-founder — pulling off an ensemble that included a vest and scarf as only a rock star of a certain age can — and his pals sat in the dining room’s main floor, where they chowed on the South American restaurant’s signature grilled meats and drank red wine.

Our tipster said some fellow diners recognized Fleetwood, but they let him eat in peace — no one asked for a photo.

Maybe they were too busy thinkin’ about tomorrow’s show?

Good Morning, Ledgies. Well, we DID get tickets--Section 113; Row G, (Lindsey's side in the first section OFF the floor), and the show was absolutely magical and electric. Stevie and John were in witch hats at the end!

We arrived at the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City, jumped on the Metro (God, DC seems like such a fun and cool city to live in), and got to the box office at around 4. The side view tickets were 179.00 apiece, which I thought was really high, :( and not that great, so I decided to continue with my brilliant plan to WAIT until around 7pm. When we got to Verizon Center at 7, there were several people outside holding up one or two fingers because they NEEDED tickets. My heart sank, and my plan became known as the IDIOTIC plan. Fortunately, we were able to get the seats on Lindsey's side (Thank goodness), we went in, checked them out--they weren't bad--and then went back out to check out the venue. I can never sit very long in my seat because I'm always too nervous before the show. No matter who goes to the show with me, they always ask, "Why are YOU nervous?"
Sigh...Philistines. :)

A few ladies were dressed up like Stevie, and several people had on good Halloween costumes, which was fun.

"The Chain" was good, and the crowd was very responsive, but when "YMLF" started, everyone went nuts. YMLF is always the first song I look at on the video posts on The Ledge, and it always makes me cry when I see everyone go ballistic, but in-person I was even more emotional. All of Chris's songs were very well received, and the band seemed super happy and on.

A definite highlight was "ISA." A few people ran for bathroom and beer breaks, (which is anathema to me because I do not leave my seat for ANYTHING during "church," so I'm always shocked when people do), but by the middle of the song, everyone was mesmerized by our boy and going NUTS during his solo. The drum solo was fun--I thought it seemed shorter--, and a few others said it did too. I think it was just right. Stevie told the Velvet Underground story, and it was really LONG this time but still cute. Everyone kept commenting that they were all in great voice, and I agree that they sound better than they ever did--not only because beautiful Christine is back but also individually.
"Songbird" was so moving and beautiful, and everyone sat there very reverently, and a lot of us were crying during it. I am SO glad I saw them on Halloween! Stevie AND JOHN(!!) came out at the end in witch hats!!! Tee hee! And that was awesome, and instead of talking about the dream catcher, Stevie said that since she was four she always wanted to be a witch every Halloween and that when she was six, her mom made her a Martha Washington (ha!) costume, and she said, "I don't want to be Martha Washington; I want to be a witch!" So her mom dyed the costume, and she had a black Martha Washington costume. Adorable.

Stevie dedicated "Landslide" to the director of Bethesda Medical. Oh! and after Stevie told the witch story at the end, Mick came out and talked for a pretty long time--thanking the audience and stuff.

The concert was amazing. Thank you to all Ledgie well-wishers. :) As we were leaving, a guy was handing out cards saying that the show was returning to DC on January 30th, and I think tickets go on sale on November 10th. OH! I think I saw the British Ledgie at the box office at 4! He was really cute and nice and asked in a gorgeous British accent when the M&G was. I should have said, "Hello," but I was acting like Butters from South Park because I was so nervous.

What a fantastic show and great audience! I was on the side of Christine and I loved every one of her songs!

The setlist was great and I thought it flowed very well - I was surprised how much the audience loved "Little Lies" and how well it sounded. My section were sitters, except for a few, but everyone was rocking in their seat. Having a view on the side, about 50 feet from the stage was awesome. I'm tired, so much to relive, but thought the band sounded terrific. Lindsey blew the crowd away on "I'm So Afraid" but my favorite moment with him was "Never Going Back Again". Just stellar. Stevie's "crack" Dance was another great moment, although I really did enjoy "Gypsy" and thought it was one of her best performances of the night, although "Silver Springs" comes in a close second. And Christine - wow, didn't realize how much she was missed - as she really brings the band into full form! I was lucky to be on her side and enjoyed all of her tunes from my favorite Fleetwood Mac song "Say You Love Me" to "Over My Head". "Songbird" was precious and the perfect end to a great show! Loved the witches hats at the end and Stevie's long winded goodbye, and her thoughts about Christine.

I couldn't see the back drop really well from where I was sitting, but a few times it seemed cool - I love how most of the floor was standing during the whole show, along with folks on the first tier along the sides of the arena. Bought a couple of tees, the dog tags, and magnets - wow, shirts have reached the $50 mark. Waiting in line for shirts and overhead a few mentions of Christine's back so I think her returning to the band has a lot to do with the large crowds. Overall, a great show with a great band - an audience from DC I was proud of (a lot of people wearing costumes and a lot of top hats!). Thanks Fleetwood Mac for stopping in DC - please come again. I definitely want to see this band again and am looking at dates from the second leg - or maybe California this month! I could use a trip to San Fran... :nod:

I missed the cards, but great news! Thanks for your review Steviegirl - it was truly a great concert!

A few other notes as I wake up with my second cup.. towards the end, some guy brought a white shaggy dog up the stairs to the stage for a brief moment. I wonder whose dog it was? Also, I didn't get why Christine didn't play the accordion during "I Know I'm Not Wrong" as she did bring it out for Tusk. I think it would have added a little more something something to the song - great live song even without the acc. And I also like when the band breaks into "You Make Loving Fun" and the crowd explodes with applause when Christine starts to sing! Awesome feeling and I know it must make Christine feel special - as it should.

So, January 30th! Wow - welcome back Mac!:]
