You're right. I can't wait to hear something new from them. Stevie's latest effort showed a good promise for a future and Lindsey's solo project is more than intriguing. Having said that, we may expect some great stuff from the band, even if it has to take certain time. I absolutely loved "Say You Will" and think they've still got something to show, especially in these times when so-called modern Pop music drives me crazy with its homogeneity. We need a lot more rock and roll and lot less hip-hop/RAP. Of course I would like to see them live, but the best thing they can do now is just to go to the studio and record a timeless record :)

But tours are profitable. Albums are not.

I never thought I'd hear myself say this but I really don't care if they tour or not unless they've got something new to say.

The last tour just seemed to be like the one before and without a new album I won't be shelling out my hard earned cash. Tickets for major rock bands now are a fortune and given the travel costs for me to get up to London I end up spending at least £150 so I need a bit more than what I've heard before.

I hope for more Stevie and Lindsey for the rest of 2011 and even next year. If Lindsey is touring overseas so should Stevie. Plus Mick should have the time to focus on Fleetwood's on Front St. If Mac does do anything next year, I'd say a concert or a few for 35th of Rumours, playing it fully. SB Halftime preferably but I think Madonna's got that. :laugh:

I liked that idea awhile back of the Mac doing a EP. That would be easier than doing a big tour.

don't know, my feeling is they settled on trying Dave Stewart as a producer / peacekeeper. SuperHeavy seems to be doing well enough, so Jagger & co. might have some other ideas for Dave for a bit... so - for touring they may be waiting on Stevie, and for EP or CD or whatever they may need to wait on Dave - from http://oldies1017.com/The_Music_World.php :

Mick Fleetwood blames Stevie Nicks and her solo career for holding up Fleetwood Mac tour plans. Nicks, who recently released In Your Dreams -- her first Top Ten album in a decade, has been busy on the road promoting the set -- including a string of high profile gigs opening for Rod Stewart. Along with that, Lindsey Buckingham has been busy recording and touring behind his new critically acclaimed set, Seeds We Sow -- which has in effect, put Fleetwood Mac on ice.

Fleetwood explained that it was actually Nicks' workload that derailed plans for the first Fleetwood Mac dates since 2009's Unleashed tour: "We thought we were gonna go out this year and ended up not doing that. And it's really a pre-requisite of Stevie's schedule. And she got totally way over wrapped up into her album, which went overtime even getting. . . being made. And then the touring got extended, and I would say that we're at a waiting game. And that's fine, we get used to doing that, y'know, we all need to get on and do what we need to do. But, I will say that you all will be hearing about Fleetwood Mac in some context, hopefully, not too long from now."

Mick Fleetwood is certainly keeping busy while the band that bears his name, Fleetwood Mac, is not.

The drummer, who co-founded the band in 1967 with bassist John McVie, is juggling a few projects, including the opening of a new club, Fleetwood’s On Front, in Maui. And on the musical front, he assembled a supergroup called The M.O.B. — featuring McVie, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and guitarist Jonny Lang — to record a version of “Sharp Dressed Man” that kicks off the new “ZZ Top — a Tribute From Friends” album.

And Fleetwood hopes it’s not the last we’ll hear of The M.O.B. (which he says is not a specific acronym) in the future.

“I have musical fantasies all the time,” he notes with a laugh, “but we had a lot of fun doing this, and I truly, truly do have a vision of somewhere, somehow walking on stage and actually putting something together with (the group). It’s nothing on a boiler plate right now, but it’s certainly something in my mind, and I think everybody else’s, too.”

Fleetwood’s other major project is being part of the initial episode of “Off The Record,” a new music and conversation Internet series that can be found on Cabo Wabo tequila’s YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/cabowabo) and on its Facebook site. Fleetwood is featured with fledgling artist Nicole Atkins, sharing stories and advice and, of course, playing some music together.

“Nicole is not just someone who is gloriously talented and maybe totally unknowing or super-innocent in terms of what she’s getting into — or what she was already in,” Fleetwood says. “I would probably have been worth half a damn with some decent commentary that might have been helpful, but we did not go there because she was not one of those people. It was so apparent she didn’t need any of that at all, so we went into, in essence, another level of dialogue, which was great.”

As for Fleetwood Mac’s future, Fleetwood — who had guaranteed a tour in 2012 — is simply hopeful something will happen sooner rather than later and is waiting for bandmates Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham to finish touring in support of their recent solo projects.

“It’s sort of in that usual old mold (of) not quite knowing,” says Fleetwood, who, like Buckingham, played on Nicks’ new album “In Your Dreams.” “In terms of aspiration, I’m always there for Fleetwood Mac and of course love the band and hope we work and stuff like that. But we thought we were going to go out this year and we ended up not doing that ...

“So I would say we’re in a waiting game, and that’s fine. We get used to doing that. I’m sure you will be hearing about Fleetwood Mac in some context, hopefully not too long from now.”
