I hope they bring SOTM back to life on tour.

When has that ever happened? Fleetwood Mac (since 1975 anyway) has never merely crapped out something rushed and half-a$$ed (well, okay, perhaps with the exception of "Ricky" ). They have too much of a polished legacy to uphold.

And THAT'S the problem.

Agreed, in my opinion each time they tour these same tunes sound less and less polished, and boring even.

KenshiMaster16 09-16-2011 09:38 PM

This needs to be their setlist. Hands down. It'll never happen but it should be. Featuring stuff from White Album, Rumours, Tusk, Mirage, Tango and Say You Will with notable singles, new songs and tracks never performed on a tour before. It's perfect and still thinking slightly outside of the box.

The Chain
Dreams
I Know I'm Not Wrong
Gypsy
Peacekeeper
*New Stevie Song*
Second Hand News
Rhiannon
Tusk
Sara
Big Love
Landslide
Never Going Back Again
Straight Back
*New Lindsey Song*
Seven Wonders
I Don't Want To Know
Gold Dust Woman
Not That Funny
I'm So Afraid
Stand Back
Go Your Own Way
Sisters Of The Moon
Don't Stop
Silver Springs

all this talk about them bringing back "sisters of the moon" is too exciting! (sigh) now to start saving that money! :]

They should go to Third Man Records.
Jack could have them an EP in a couple
of days.

I agree that the tunes start to sound boring, but not really because they're less polished. I think they're mostly too polished. Although, Lindsey is doing something with NGBA that has strung it out and taken all of the song out of it. That one I wouldn't considered polish any longer. Free Brushes, people!

In their heads, I think they look at Monday Morning (last played 1980), Go Insane (last played 1997, first time played with full band in 2009), obviously Storms, and Oh Well (last played 1994, last played with Lindsey 1982).

Ridiculous to me, but I think they look at that kind of stuff when making these statements. Not to mention, I think they still consider I Know I'm Not Wrong and Sara as something different.

So now we might get a rare gem like... IDWTK or Crystal... but just one, and they'll act like they have taken a chance. sigh.

Well if they pull out Crystal, here is to hoping Stevie takes lead vocals!

I don't know. With three band members talking about DEFINITELY touring, it seems that there may be a Greatest Hits compilation (perhaps like Crystal Visions with a DVD?) coming out next year that they are already aware of. That being said tho, they all talked about how there was going to be some Unleashed Greatest Hits pack and re-release of Rumours in 2009, which never saw the light of day, so maybe they are all talking out of their asses again and no tour will happen.

Fiver 09-17-2011 07:33 PM

I guess they've got ants in their pants to go out there and make the most of the whole Glee thing. Really hoping for that EP or atleast some of the new solo songs incorporated into the set.

But I'll be going to a show anyway, since I didn't become a fan until after Unleashed.

Spikey 09-17-2011 09:33 PM

I think I need to quote "da man" Lindsey about small and big machines. I have no doubt that's his motivation. Given his contributions to Mac albums have all been solo tracks since 1982, it's almost 30 years since he specifically wrote a Mac track (or many of them, anyway, maybe he wrote a new one or two for SYW and Tango).

He's in it for money for his family and solo career. And I can't blame him, although I'd love new FM stuff in the vein (though not finished product) of SYW/their new solo albums.

Personally, I can't get really excited about an "Unleashed 2" tour. Where's Lindsey's spiel about it, when he's been giving us all this "Rumours 2" and Tusk?

The setlist that was posted sounds pretty close to what we'd get, although, of course, Straight Back has a "Meatloaf's hit album's" chance of being played.

Anyway, watch this space, or not. I have a bad feeling, as someone else said, that we'll be disappointed and it will be a second hits tour with no new music.. But I'm happy to be wrong.

I bet if Jack promised her one of The Black Belles
witch hats she'd show up.
